    This near mint Les Paul Jimmy Page Authentic guitar weighs just 9.10 lbs. and is just like Jimmy Page's original '59 guitar. The neck is thick at the nut and at the neck heel, like a typical 1959 Les Paul, but it tapers to a super-slim depth in the middle. Solid mahogany body with a wild 'tiger-stripe' book-matched two-piece carved maple top with single-ply cream binding. One-piece mahogany neck with a nice fat nut width of 1 11/16 inches, a standard Gibson scale length of 24 3/4 inches and a 'long tenon' neck joint. Single-bound rosewood fretboard with 22 original medium-jumbo frets, inlaid pearl trapezoid position markers, and transparent red side dot markers. Inlaid pearl "Gibson" headstock logo and "Les Paul Model" silkscreened in gold. Two-layer black on white plastic truss rod cover secured by two screws. Serial number "JPP 805" inked-on in black on the back of the headstock. Individual Grover Roto-Matic tuners with half-moon metal buttons. Original holes for Kluson Deluxe tuners beneath as per Jimmy Page's guitar. Two fantastically resonant Gibson humbucker pickups with cream-colored plastic surrounds and outputs of 8.16k and 7.99k (the bridge pickup with the rectangular black label on the underside "Patent Applied For") - the label on the neck pickup has disintegrated. The neck pickup with the original nickel cover, the bridge pickup exposed. The potentiometers are dated "0506" (February 2006). Cream-colored plastic pickguard with large 'slot-head' screw on bracket. Four controls (two volume, two tone) plus three-way selector switch and two-way coil-tapping switch on the bridge pickup tone control. Gold-plastic bell-shaped "Bell" knobs. ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic retainer bridge with metal saddles and separate stud tailpiece. 'Page' style strap buttons with 'slot-head' screws. All hardware nickel-plated and aged. This JP Les Paul is in near mint (9.25) condition with just a miniscule amount of very light belt buckle scarring on the back of the body, and one small mark/indentation on the lower edge. Housed in the original Gibson custom five-latch, shaped black hardshell case with maroon plush lining (9.25).

    The Heartbreaker solo is Jimmy's best solo. Hands down, cut the shit, no effects, or shit just Jimmy Page with a Les Paul through a Marshall. Cranked.

      @@bobbyosborne2375 you're wrong! The second half the of the solo, with the full band, that's a tele and a tone bender into a vox ul80 whatever head and the Rickenbacker cabs with swapped speakers. Then when he got the Les Paul he added the hammer on solo using a cranked Marshall. There are photos of the session!

      I would love to own a Jimmy Page #1 (wouldn't say no to a number #2 either) but it would actually be cheaper to buy an R8 or R9 and send it off to lays to have the neck shaved to the page profile and hit up the Duncan custom shop and ask them to wind you the pickups in Jimmys #1 (yes they will do it if you ask, no it is not the same as the whole lotta humbucker set they sell at music stores)

    • @Footender
      @Footender 4 роки тому +1

      Yes! lets hear more about the neck profile! Its a 59' Les Paul Burst obv so should be a thick 50s neck but I've read that Jimmy had the neck shaved down and he liked it so much when he baught his #2 Les Paul 59' Burst he had that neck shaved the same way but I have no idea what the radius or shape is. Very curious just to hold one of these duplicates to see what its like.

    actually the bridge tone pot is the only pot that is push/pull for single coil tap. The you put the toggle switch in the middle is when you get that Peter Green tone that Page loved so much. Only the #1 is set up this way. His #2 has all the push/pull pots with two active buttons under the scratch plate as well.......there's your lesson on Jimmy Page's #1 & #2

    • @bryanwilliams3665

      Pagey had NO switching mods in Led Zeppelin. All that came POST Led Zeppelin in the 1980's .. That "Hollow Chirpy" middle pickup sound you hear in Led Zep all the time is a Product of 'Phase Cancellation' by EXACTLY balancing the volume between JP's Weak 7.5k Bridge T Top and his Overwound 8.6k Neck pickup You cannot get that sound with the COMMON Hot Bridge / Weak Neck Pickup Combo.... He also gets that 'hollow, chirpy out of phase tone on his Double Neck Middle Position. Listen to the Stairway Solo on 'The Song Remains The Same.

      There should only be one push-pull anyway, either for a coil split or out-of-phase, depending on the year (they did it incorrectly at first). This is a 2006 CA, a copy of Pages #1, not the Jimmy Page model of the 90s which was based on (but not a clone of) Page's #2, and had four push-pulls for 21 tone options.

    I mean no disrespect, but do these signature models really SOUND any better than any of the other Custom Shop models? I mean, as far as I remember, they were about £10k when they first came out, so I guess more than double the price of a 'regular' R9 at the time. I don't really hear any truly authentic 'Pagey' tones in this video, but is that just down to amp choice?

      There are so many variables to consider, with the #1 ingredient being YOUR OWN FINGERS/HANDS. The use of a pick or not is yet another. If a song was played on a studio album using a pick on the strings, you can't expect to sound the same using no pick.........and vise versa. The man in this video is playing with only his fingers, no pick.

      rockerdog65 . The Gibson Jimmy Page Models (Electrically) are 'Period Incorrect' for Led Zeppelin. They are closer to Pageys Guitar POST Led Zeppelin. Firstly all those Push Pull Pots wiring options came well after Zeppelin (1980's) From mid 1972- Early 80's Jimmy had a 'Low Power 7.5/7.6k Gibson T Top in the Bridge and a much hotter 8.6k Alnico 2 Unpotted in the Neck (set really low to balance the weak bridge PU ) So no, as great guitars they are, they sound nothing like JP's #1.. I explain Jimmys 1973 tone on my channel

      Pagey actually had NONE of that in Led Zeppelin.. All that stuff came much later in the 1980s.. Its a little misleading (by Gibson) as its Period Incorrect for Zeppelin. Yes, people are (type of) getting a Jimmy Page guitar, but they're Not getting a Led Zeppelin guitar. Pickup Specs and Wiring are not even remotely correct.. In Zeppelin Post 72 ,his #1 had a Low Power 7.5/7.6K T Top in the bridge and a 8.6k Overwound Alnico 2 PAF in the neck (set really low to balance the weak bridge pickup)
