Good morning, Tim and fellow channel followers. Merry Christmas Eve. I'll have to remember to search the channel for "gear" when I need a refresher on all these handy tools. Hope it's a wonderful day for everyone. Now for my second "cuppa" coffee. 🎄☕
I have the Ulanzi MT-79. I prefer it over the MT-44 which I also have. I am very interested in that Magic Arm device. So glad you did this video because I have had questions about what you been using out in the field.
Blue tooth remote seems like great piece of equipment and a time saver in editing. I'm going to think about a purchase a device as I am going to have 3 dogs soon in the house and I need to be able to film with my hands free. Joan 🎄✨
Great video Tim! I learned alot! I didnt realise the Mantis Pod Z had that hook! What a dill I am.. now it makes sense (and will be far more useful)! Because you use the gear properly these videos are so helpful. I have just ordered the Ulanzi Micro Ball head for my Ulanzi MT 79 which will give it far more functionality. The length of the video was FINE... all high quality content. Merry Christmas from Australia!
You probably can edit directly off of the SSD and save yourself a step. An iWatch would also serve as your remote trigger and if it’s on your arm, you won’t forget it. For your b-roll library, you should invest in a NAS. it will pay for itself in cost savings by not paying an exorbitant cloud storage prices.
If you get one, configure it with at least RAID 5. That way, when(not if) a drive fails you’ll be covered. Make sure to back it up and keep the backup in your car , or somewhere away from your house in case of fire or god forbid another tornado. I have Synology as it’s kinda the easiest one to learn.
I chose not to talk about price because I’ve done that in previous videos. And if you see anything of interest, the link will take you directly to the price.
After shooting with a phone every day for nearly a year, you have mastered the art. Thank you for this very useful information!

I’m definitely considering a NAS!

It would be helpful if you talked about ballpark costs to go with your list of useful items. Merry Christmas and happy new year
