Sometimes a horse (or mule) would be better off and used better in another home. You only have one butt and can't ride ten horses at a time, let some move on to bless other families! Love watching you guys.
And butts have two cheeks as well. So, the first two kicks in the butt are free, but God never told us what to do after that, lol!! He handled the situation very well. If it were me, I'd tell them to go take a hike elsewhere and then block them. But he handled it very gracefully, and that speaks volumes about the kind of people they are!! And that is meant to be a compliment.
True - the goal is, rescuing animals without "collecting" them and overload/overfill the place and overdo the workload. Keep a grip on it, that is what sensible folks do. If this mule is healthy, nice and safe i. e. with children, and if you find a good forever place for him - great. Like Humane society, they do the same thing and rehome as much animals as they can. Friend of mine bought 1 16 year old mare in November. Healthy beautiful animal, very well trained, children safe, very easy and relaxed to go for hacks in the forrests, and my friend is as HAPPY as she could be. Her grandchildren also. The former owner needed money and the space to put in more paying customers over the winter. So with a hurting heart he said good by to his ex polo pony which he loved a lot. He calls every other day and cried when he deliverd the mare personally, to have a look at the place he brought her. But now, everyone is happy, the little mare included. There is NOTHING wrong about that. Of course, the average horse buyer would look for a sport horse or for a forever family member, that depends. But sometimes you have to part because you cannot get along with each other. What then?
Your decisions are no one else's business. The people who disagreed had not thought it out or just didn't know the costs. Y'all have Very Happy Holidays and don't worry about the nay sayers! Hugs!😊
Yes I agree, a horse needs a job, they are happy when they can work, get attention and so on. He could be a wonderful horse or moul for a little kid who is not so sure with horses. I whish you and I forgot his name much luck, you a good profit and him an amazing home, best whishes from Austria 🇦🇹 🐎❣️
Poco is a well-trained mule and will make a good pack mule for someone and can also be ridden! So an all-around useful animal! I hope you can find a loving home for him!
You said it in the begining you bought him. He's yours. And its your farm. I respect your compassion. I'm a first time listener from the twin cities in Minnesota
Your decisions are sound. While it’s not our business how you handle your ranch you candidly share your ranch life with us and for that we appreciate you and your family. Merry Christmas!
It is so sad that some people will criticize without having any knowledge of the rudiments of farming. I have watched you and your family working with your animals and it stands out a mile how much you care for each and everyone. Take care.
My Uncle sold his babysitter Morgan because my sister wasn't in a position to ride her anymore, so he knew a family with a young girl who needed a horse It is part and parcel of owning horses/mules/donkeys etc... Some people don't understand. The cost of feed, working, shots, and tests are outrageous. You are doing what's right for you and Poko
A good new home for Poco gives the new owner the joy of Poco's company and gives you room for the next rescue. You know what you're doing so you keep doing what you do best. The world needs more folks like you and your family. God bless you all.
So appreciate your openness. Sorry the unfair and critical people have hurt you. Am glad you educated us viewers on the expenses involved. Have always believed you have the best interests in the animals you work with. Blessings on your amazing work. Best wishes to you and your family this Christmas season.
I second that! Maybe if people would take time to educate themselves, instead of opening their ignorant mouths, there would be less neglected animals all around, not just horses. Just the time, and expense, you put out on that little pony, WOW, just, wow! Drop of the hat, no warning or plan, you took him in, fixed his feet, did what u could for his eye, and got him a home. This isn't free. And it's time consuming. You did nothing wrong, but thank you, for your honest response to the nastiness.
Alot of people don't know what goes into having a farm and caring for livestock. Your heart is open to care for your family, family pets, livestock and rescue animals, and all on a teachers salary. That said, I commend you and your family for showing strength, integrity and faith.
You are doing right by these animals. People get emotionally vested in your channel without realizing it is a business and it is easy to see that you are caring people
Y’all are amazing. Ignore the trolls. I never considered it wrong to sell Poco. I know you have the best intentions for the horses you care for. People will sometimes accuse others of bad behaviour without knowing the full truth in your decisions. God bless. Continue your journey as you have and your lifestyle will continue to be the inspiration we all need un these trying times.
Thank you soo much for rescuing the horses and training them so they can be place. I enjoy your channel. Your son is brave and I enjoy watching it. God bless
I have to compliment you on your response to criticism. It would have been easy to ignore or lash out back. That’s what many would do. Thank you for kindly educating From a teacher who loves horses :)
You have one of the kindest Souls of all the people I watch on UA-cam! People are going to be negative because they are just unhappy and want to make other people unhappy as I'm sure you well know! I know you rescue these animals to try to get them better homes and I've watched you do just that! Keep up the good work and God bless!
I love this channel. Anyone that has watched this channel knows what it is about. Yes you buy, sell and trade horses, goats, whatever. Your farm is not a charity. I have watched you care for and rehome several animals. You get horses that are starved and neglected and get them back to health. Your whole family is sweet and thoughtful. You just keep doing what you do and your true supporters will still be here. Thanks for showing us what you do. This is as close to owning a horse as some of us have ever seen.
Hey farm friend, those of us that watch your videos know that you rescue and love all animals. God bless you for your hard work. Those that love your videos will continue to watch, just ignore the negative comments and keep up the great work that you do. Thanks for the great video's. We love them all.
Thank you for not sending him to slaughter. When you first started talking I had chills running up my back. You have been so kind to save all those animals. Thank you!
You just keep doing what you do and don't mind the folks that have nothing but time on their hands.... If they wanna adopt a horse and feed it for the next 10 years they are welcome to do so. 😁 Just found your channel awhile back and have been enjoying watching!
You are a blessing to the horses, ponies and mules you rescue...I used to raise train and sell german warm bloods. I bred my mares and sold their offspring. In between I often bought good ranch or trail prospects to work with and sell them to good homes. Some of them were pretty rough when I got them and I always spent money on good feed, vet and farrier care and either broke even or made a little money on them. You just keep doing you and keep educating folks like you're doing. Walk tall, you've earned it!
People who criticize should put their money where their mouth is. You do so much good for the animals. You can’t possibly keep every animal you save. That’s just ridiculous.
Don't let those that are uneducated and non experienced horse and animal people cast a dark light on anything you do....those of us who do understand loudly applaud all you do....May God bless your family and all the animals you make lives better for
Some people think that farming is all rainbows and butterflies. Animals are too expensive to keep around when they are not serving a purpose. As long as they are living a good life while in your care and you strive to find that in their next home that is what matters most. I don't know why people think it is okay to tell you what to do with what is yours. Love your channel! Keep on keeping on! :)
I just loved the start of this video with the horses and the music...very spiritual...good job editing. Also, bless you for finding a new home for Poco where I'm sure he'll be treasured for years to come.
Most people in UA-cam land don't have any idea what it takes to run and finance a real working farm. God bless you and your family, and keep the wonderful videos coming!!
You are a wonderful family and do wonderful things to save and care for these animals. I am so sorry that some viewers are so judgmental and ignorant about what’s all involved. Thank you for being you!
I'm glad you have the heart to take in horses. I wish I could but I know how much it costs. You really don't owe anyone an explanation. If people don't like it then they can take care of him. Thank you.
How you operate your farm, is no one else's business Alan. No one knows the cost that goes into it....not only the outward cost of feed, vet etc etc, but your hours of hard work physically. Horses are expensive!! You're doing wonderful, dont sweat the naysayers. They're not in your shoes. Merry Christmas to your family!!
Alan, when a man rescues animals like you do,you can't do any wrong in my book.Furthermore if the two legged creatures were as intelligent as your four legged creatures they would keep their traps shut, case closed.
Good Luck dealing with the public. To me that would be the hardest part of having a u tube channel. Lot's of people out there who have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. You are doing a amazing service to these critters, Spur is an excellent example. Have a Great Day 👍
You have to do what is best for you and your family. Never feel like you have to explain yourself. Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. God Bless you all.
You don't need to explain anything to anyone. Your business and your decisions are your own. God bless you and your family 🙂💞. Stay safe, be well. I hope power returns soon for you.
Listen people that unsubscribe to your channel because of that. You don't need them ! People don't understand how much it cost to have big animals on your farm. And you don't need to tell people how much you spend. This is your decision and farm if they want to give you money to help you on the farm then they should instead of making people feel bad. Only light, love, abundance and prosperity to you and your family.
I think some people just watch this and other channels just to see the animals without thought to economy and even space issues. Not to mention the time it takes to care for an animal and give each animal the time and attention it deserves.
First time watching your videos. Although I'm a year late, I just want to say that I can tell you're a caring person. Just so you k ow, I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching more❤
I follow the Walkers and have watched you often since their visit. I love horses and wanted one so badly when I was about 10 or 11 - but I was a city girl and that was not in my family’s reach. We should all remember that we as fellow humans should not criticize until we have walked in that person’s shoes. I appreciate what you all have shared- your lives and beautiful horses- - thank you❤️. My mother said often “ clean around your own doorstep “. Most of the time that keeps me busy😊 Merry Christmas!!❤️
I love your channel and support you 110% your heart is Beautiful and you do right by your animals. Poco will have a wonderful life somewhere and will be dearly loved. Merry Christmas and Have a Blessed New Years to you and your family
Poco is a beautiful animal that will make someone a great partner as a companion animal a pack mule or just an old friend to walk the hills and trails with . Keep up the good work 👍
Nice boots! Yes, it does cost a pretty penny to feed animals. So happy you’ve found a good home for Spur. You are doing great work for the animals. Keep it up!
Like others have said, don't listen to the naysayers...those of us who work/live on a farm/ranch totally get it. Besides all of that more than likely he will enjoy it more, being somewhere he is also being loved on as well as worked with. Great videos! Merry Christmas to you all.
Oh my goodness, yoi dont owe anyone an explanation! And you ALWAYS make sure they get WONDERFUL homes. You are keeping these horses and donkeys off the kill trucks or out of bad situations. God bless you for that. Dont let the haters get you down. Poco is gonna be a BLESSING to someone! And a great horse sitting doing nothing is a sad waste. Bless you for sharing him with someone who needs an awdsome mule! Big hugs for all of you!
You are doing what you think is best for Poco. No ill feelings on my part. This allows you to continue doing what you love to do, rescue and rehome. God Bless.
I think you are doing a wonderful job with the animals. The naysayers are not in your situation. Your decisions come from your experience and what is best for you and your family. A blessed day to you.
lol! I LOVE that I am addressed as a "Farm Friend" when I click on one of your videos....as for those who make ASSumptions---we all know how that saying goes, and it's very appropriate for when it's time to move a good mule along in his life's journey. It's silly that you have to actually EXPLAIN to people the dollars and cents of keeping a huge farm like yours going. Yes, when we all get to the After Life and are reunited with God, Loved Ones, and our Beloved Animals----everything over THERE is FREE!!! It all runs on LOVE and God's Grace. Meanwhile, here on Earth we still need to do our work and pay the bills as well as love one another. This was a delightful video, I enjoyed seeing the critters in the snow, thank you. 😃
You did the right thing for both you and Poco. He is such a nice guy, he could make a great pal for someone. It's a shame that some people are so critical and are not looking at the bigger picture. I wonder if the critics would be willing to spend that amount of money for a pet? Your goal is to rescue and rehome, why don't the critics complain when you rehome the many horses that you have over the years? You shouldn't have to defend yourself!
I love your videos and all you do to help rescue and re-home your animals. The more you re-home gives many beautiful horses etc. a chance of life. Thank you for saving and loving the animals as you do! Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Maybe the folks that are critical don't have horse's and don't realize what it takes to care and own a horse. I mean you rescue horses and get them healthy and find good homes and yes and make a little money to keep your wonderful farm going , which also takes a lot. You guys do a fantastic job and keep up the good works. 🙏🐎🥰
What I'm surprised about is that it gets down to 15° in Arizona 🥶❄️ I remember you said it was common in the winter but it's still baffles me 🌵🌤️ Happy trails to Poco in finding new friends and getting the love he deserves. 💞
Alan, I think you do a great job of rescuing horses. I see the profit as paying forward for the next horse/mile/goat/donkey/sheep! Keep up the great service ! Merry Christmas!
so grateful for you sharing. I grew up on a ranch/working farm. im 60 now live vicariously..ha. we grew all our own meat and veggies and fruit and only went to Prairie Market for dry goods we could not produce. a farm or a ranch or a rescue operation is not cheap. vets are also not cheap, especially these days.. my dad did a lot of his own vet work and we sold our 4-H calfs and pigs for food on someone's table and money for college in our pockets. blessing you guys and your heart for a real life for your family for generational.. . sorry you had trolls... hopefully the education your provide will penetrate their numbskulls. love the dapple.
Thanks for this video. I just ran into your station today and found it quite beautiful the way you choose horses to take care of the great care that you give them and the insight that you seem to have
I'm a new subscriber here, I came over from Walker Farm Fam NIce to see how you are caring for your horses ! I think you keep on "Doing You" Even critics need to use money to eat,, so don't let the physic vampires get you down. that's what demons do. God Bless, I look forward to watching more. Annmarie in Oregon
Sir, you are a wonderful man and have a wonderful family! I haven't been on the channel very long, but support you totally! Thank you for rescuing all those horses, mules, and donkeys. I have all the respect in the world of you!
Some folks don't understand farm life, if you can find him another home then go for it. You did great rescuing him, finding him a good home opens the door for another rescue. Keep doing what your doing, you and your family are great people, God bless you all.
Your animal s , your life !! You have to do what's right for you and your family !! You take awesome care for all your animals.. God bless you and your family for all you do for them..
Alan, you shouldn't have had to explain yourself to those who criticize your actions. You and Vicky do a great job caring for the animals you have, the way you rehabilitate some and find good homes for them. We as watchers have to realize WE don't live in your world and have any idea what and why you make your decisions. Your explanation was perfect...
People that have not had a horse has no idea the cost. You and your family are great steward's of horses and any animal you have God bless you for all the rescues you have done and will do.
Most know how well you take care of your animals and how much you love them. It’s always your goal to find good homes for your rescue animals. Don’t worry to much about the naysayers. 🥰🎄
You don't have to explain to us, make the best decision for the farm. You see the whole picture. We just see what you show us. Make money to pay the bills. With the present inflation things are so expensive. Being a flat lander I don't know the first thing about a horse farm. I enjoy watching you and your family. I'm going to order a pair of those boots for snow season in Massachusetts.
You aren’t running a virtual petting zoo (free). You’re doing the best thing for him. Imagine him having a loving home that will have the time that he’d enjoy. Keep on keeping on and forget what others say. Merry Christmas 🎄
Sometimes a horse (or mule) would be better off and used better in another home. You only have one butt and can't ride ten horses at a time, let some move on to bless other families! Love watching you guys.

You got snow ❄️ wow!!! You could save a donkey from a burning building and someone would criticize how you did it 🤦🏻♀️🙃 Love y’all ❤️
How *DARE* you not preserve the 18th century hand made nails in that barn and just let them BURN??!?! 😀
@@lesliejohnson2982 🤣🤣🤣🤣
And do nothing to help, btw.

People don’t realize how much effort and menu it takes to keep a large animal. Poco will be fine with another family that has the time to ride him
Glad to see your discipline your horses against kicking so that they are safe around the people you sell them to.
I saw that too..That could have been bad if someone new did not understand horses..I would have done the same as he did..
Thank you soo much for rescuing the horses and training them so they can be place. I enjoy your channel. Your son is brave and I enjoy watching it. God bless
Merry Christmas to all of your family.
I have to compliment you on your response to criticism. It would have been easy to ignore or lash out back. That’s what many would do. Thank you for kindly educating

Someone is going to be very lucky to have a nice mule like Poco… and you make that a trademark of Farm on Route 66 cared for animals ❤️

Like others have said, don't listen to the naysayers...those of us who work/live on a farm/ranch totally get it. Besides all of that more than likely he will enjoy it more, being somewhere he is also being loved on as well as worked with. Great videos! Merry Christmas to you all.
a means of sustainability is necessary no matter what you do. keep up the good work. love your videos.
No explanation needed someone out there will get poco and they will enjoy him just like you guys have God bless
You are doing what you think is best for Poco. No ill feelings on my part. This allows you to continue doing what you love to do, rescue and rehome. God Bless.
I think what you do is fantastic. Try not to pay attention to those who make rude comments. Your plan is to rescue and rehome. Great job.
Your family is awesome!!! So are you Allan!!! I love watching you all!!!
Keep up the good work y’all are doing. Love the videos. Awesome family
You are NOT a horrible person. Their opinions dont matter. You are a kind and gentle soul. Dont forget that. Hugs from Florida.
I love your videos and all you do to help rescue and re-home your animals. The more you re-home gives many beautiful horses etc. a chance of life. Thank you for saving and loving the animals as you do! Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Thank you
Maybe the folks that are critical don't have horse's and don't realize what it takes to care and own a horse. I mean you rescue horses and get them healthy and find good homes and yes and make a little money to keep your wonderful farm going , which also takes a lot. You guys do a fantastic job and keep up the good works. 🙏🐎🥰
What I'm surprised about is that it gets down to 15° in Arizona 🥶❄️
I remember you said it was common in the winter but it's still baffles me 🌵🌤️
Happy trails to Poco in finding new friends and getting the love he deserves. 💞
Keep up the great work! Merry Christmas.
Poco s going to make some one very happy. He is a wonderful mule. Very handsome too.
Alan, I think you do a great job of rescuing horses. I see the profit as paying forward for the next horse/mile/goat/donkey/sheep! Keep up the great service ! Merry Christmas!
Thank you for all you do for those amazing animals! MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄
Thanks for rescuing needy animals, hope Poko is going to a good home.
You are not a terrible person. I know you have to do what's best for the horse
No one can make the decisions for your farm except y'all.
Hope he gets a lovely forever home.
Thank you for all your animal rescue work, and yes, finding a good home is part of that. You're doing a great job, keep it up!
I look at it as your giving someone that is wanting a good broke mule the chance to have one. Wishing you and your family merry Christmas
I guess some people forget that your farm/ranch is a business.
so grateful for you sharing.
Thanks so much
Thanks for this video. I just ran into your station today and found it quite beautiful the way you choose horses to take care of the great care that you give them and the insight that you seem to have
Ignore the trolls and haters. They'll go away!
I'm a new subscriber here, I came over from Walker Farm Fam NIce to see how you are caring for your horses ! I think you keep on "Doing You"
Even critics need to use money to eat,, so don't let the physic vampires get you down.
that's what demons do. God Bless, I look forward to watching more. Annmarie in Oregon
Sir, you are a wonderful man and have a wonderful family! I haven't been on the channel very long, but support you totally! Thank you for rescuing all those horses, mules, and donkeys. I have all the respect in the world of you!
If you make money with horses, you are a master... or a magician. I love what you do.
They need food, water, care & love...just like us ppl. A happy & content horse is a blessing & friend. God bless u for caring for them...
Keep on keeping on . !!! Ur a good human loving on animals ..👍👍💙👍
Appreciate you and your family. 👍
Your awesome and so is your family 👪 thank you for helping animals!!
People that have not had a horse has no idea the cost. You and your family are great steward's of horses and any animal you have
God bless you for all the rescues you have done and will do.
I have a question. You said you are a flat lander. I have never heard that term before. Sorry what is a flat lander? Thank you.
You aren’t running a virtual petting zoo (free). You’re doing the best thing for him. Imagine him having a loving home that will have the time that he’d enjoy. Keep on keeping on and forget what others say.
Merry Christmas 🎄
