@arielle-cheriepaterson7851 sure I started with what were the most common complaints about different types of compact cars. Then what brands had high satisfaction then how they compared in value. I just kept thinking of more questions, and it answered them. It was just so helpful I ended up getting a 2018 Toyota Corolla in October and I love it.
Don't get me wrong, this great news, but this isn't really a brand-new feature. They just rebranded Collections by adding file uploading and calling "Spaces." Everything else has been a feature for a long time.
Thanks for this introduction to Perplexity and Spaces in general. I think their USP would be the possibility to use multiple LLMs through one single chat interface, so good to see they’re willing to catch-up with unique features of other vendors. What I really would like to know is how they’re doing at this point in time when it comes to (realtime) internet #search, because that seemed to be their original USP…? Other vendors did catch-up there, using their own models.

I've tried your tips. They didn't work much better than my simple, seasoned prompt chat. While it produces large, complex prompts, in reality, it gets clunky. Like any other chat, the longer you stick to a single conversation - improving it until it gets what you need - it will work better than any complex GPT or lengthy instruction
Nice review! Besides the 25mb file upload size, what's the total token context limit of the documents that you can upload? Are using models like GPT4o and Sonnet 3.5 rate limited? I think if Perplexity adds something like Artifacts to render realtime code, that would be a game changer. That would truly encompass everything that's out there. The only thing left would be to make audio podcasts like NotebookLM or some kind of audio summarizer/teacher that you can listen to on the go.
Thanks a lot for this! I uploaded 32 pdf research articles into Spaces. However, in queries, e.g. requesting to summarize arguments across all files, it only considers a maximum of 5 source files in its answers. Anyone else noticed that?
Something I struggle with and perhaps you can help me with. I have a Space. I have my instructions there about analyzing attached pdf files when I upload it/them. But every time, when I upload one and hit Submit - expecting Perplexity to follow the already provided directions - it does not do that. It either does not do anything or does kind of random things that it feels like. I do not want to write directions every time! What should I do to resolve this?
This sounds so cool. Thanks for the newest input. I would be interested in your opinion: Which company would be better in handling the privacy of your data? Claude or Perplexity?
Very interesting thank you. Would consider making a video going through use of ChatGPT Team from the perspective of invited team members? It seems rather confusing how that works, what members/owners can see of each others prompts/GPT’s in work areas etc.
Does anyone know if uploading your own files in Perplexity's spaces makes the file content public/searchable? Or are they secured in your Perplexity account?

The wonderful thing about this is that you can completely get past the context window issue by splitting large pdf files into smaller chunks and chucking it all into one perplexity space. Then perplexity can go through all the files independently without being stopped by the 32000 token limit. That's absolutely insane. Personally, I would stop talking to the bot in 5 min after realizing it just fails understanding what I’m talking about.
I get the feeling that this new feature doesn’t quite warrant this guy’s level of excitement. 😅
Perplexity probably paid him? No worries though, happy he is getting paid! 🙂🙏🏻
Nope didn’t get paid. CustomGPTs are my favorite Ai tool and the way this combines the power of customgGPTs with web search is never level. I always disclose if I get paid
This is just RAG. Looks cool though
RAG on steroids
@@SkillLeapAI so dead at 30 like a body builder influencer? 😅
$$$, are they selling data too?
It’s 20 a month, same as all other companies for the pro plan. They have similar data privacy options too
@@SkillLeapAI Thx, but I miss human beings. Tech and ai are fake. Automated word salad. Optimizes pricing/profit 4 big business.
RAG on Perplexity
Free users can upload up to 5 files to Spaces
Simply put, this Space thing works just like ChatGPT 😂
I tried the free version of Perplexity AI a few days ago, but the last 50% of the output kept turning into gibberish. It happened multiple times, so I eventually just gave up.
Still not better than claude projects because of smaller context size, but at least it has web search
Google = search engine
Perplexity = answer engine
Ain’t nobody got 16 min to watch this whole thing but let me try to give it a go in attempting of summarizing this.
Perplexity AI Space enables you to talk to a bot as it requires you to feed it with more and more info for refining its search for you.
spaces is garbage. Its barely searching the uploaded files, dont even think uploading code, it wont read more from whole file than 5 lines.
Only the paid version allows you to actually use this feature properly, but hey It took you 7 minutes to mention that...
I also mentioned in the first minute
@@SkillLeapAI no you don’t, now just wasted another minute of my life 😅
Right at 1:30 I said the paid upgrade gives you a huge upgrade the free version doesn’t let you have which is the ability to upload files.
There is no benefit for me to keep it a secret. They don’t pay me to make a video or for you to sign up
@@SkillLeapAI yes, but huge upgrade can be many things. Essentially the ability to upload files is why 99% of the people are interested in this money grabbing tool. Be well 👍
Can you be honest. Everytime something new comes out it becomes the "go to" tool. The truth is there isn't an everything AI model is there?
Well by definition of new, it should be better than what’s already there. Not always but usually that’s how tech works. If you just want one tool, then ChatGPT is that tool. But there are other Ai tools that do some things better. There isn’t an all in one app on your phone or computer either
Hmmm, this tool seems to be knocking right up against the door of outright plagiarism and copyright theft. Will be interesting to follow. Great functionality, just the scrape and amalgamate feels off.
Hi
