I'm really tempted to go back again this weekend. That was my first solo overnighter years ago and I havent gone solo since, this is a great place to solo.
I haven't done any backpacking at Uwharrie yet but I've taken my 4 wheeler and stayed at Badin Lake campground a few times. Backpacking season doesn't start for me until it cools off. Haha
Looks like a great place to camp! Totally agree about the chair being worth it's weight in gold! I like peak meals as well! Have you tried Trailtopia? I think that they are a better cost option and they taste great! Now following #623!
@@ExploreYourLand I get the Trailtopia meals from Garage Grown Gear and they have some pretty good prices. Thanks for checking out the channel. Hope you find some new places to hike and explore! Keep up the videos! Cheers
The chicken/rice/mushrooms were excellent. Beef stroganoff had great flavor but beef didn’t rehydrate well. Granola/strawberries were good but probably not quite worth the money. 10/10 on flavor for sure.
In my opinion, finding the spot shouldn’t be too difficult… it’s the “away from people” thing that can be tough. I find that if you wait until it gets cold, then you’ll have the place all to yourself. Most people are fair-weather campers and if you are willing to go when conditions aren’t perfect then isolation is easy. Good luck!
@@ExploreYourLand -Thanks as well. Heading there this weekend with my son. We had trouble finding clean flowing water on our last trip there 2 yrs ago.

Great video, I keep coming back to it. Hoping to set up at the same campsite now.

I was looking at the Peak meals for an upcoming camp. They were a little more expensive but did the quality and quantity make them worth it?

Would list the trail circuit you hiked please? I have the Don Childrey book of the Uwharrie Trail guide.
I found the information I needed in the full video you posted. Thanks for the fantastic videos
Disappointed there wasn't any footage demonstrating proper application of Gold Bold Medicated Powder. Maybe next time?
😂 definitely… need to do an in depth tutorial on that 🤣
Hey! I'm looking for a place in NC where I can go primitive camping "away from people" and able to make a fire and such, any suggestions?
Check these out www.fs.usda.gov/activity/nfsnc/recreation/camping-cabins/?recid=48112&actid=34

Here are the maps I used. Camp is just south of hwy 109 next to “watery branch”. Have fun!
