@@vsojo it's a 2017 I purchased in 2019. I have 62000 miles on it with no real issues. Basically standard maintenance. The navigation/XM Radio likes to go blank like 1 or 2 times a year. It's a easy reset using the on Star button. Thinking of adding a better set of speakers and amp. 😆 the so called upgraded sounds it comes with are crap. It handles well around curves. Seats a comfortable, AC is great. They say keep a eye on the oil levels and change the oil 3 to 3.5 thousand miles. I had to add a quart once.

So far I'm quite pleased with it, the seats are really comfortable, the suspension is nice, it has a lot of leg room even for the back passengers, it's responsive on the road. I did hear about the oil issue, gotta keep an eye on it constantly. The only thing I don't like is the stereo going back to radio mode every time you turn off the car; if you're listening to music from bluetooth, you have to go all the way back to BT mode. (which btw, takes a while to reconnect). I'd like it to stay on BT mode but apparently it's not possible. Overall, I like the car.
I did a 2016 LTZ equinox, the saddle interior really won me over! That is a really nice color.
Any maintenance issues to mention ?

If this is the same 2.4 engine that I have in my 2007 HHR......I currently have 290,000 miles on it and STILL no problems with it......great engine!
This vehicle doesn't look to bad. You can't really tell it has been on the market for that long just by looking at it. Chevy should give this vehcile a full redesign in the coming years. For right now, though, the Equinox remains fairly competitive in this ever so growing Compact Utility Vehicle segment. This vehcile is also one the largest in its segment. So that means it can possibly rank as a midsized SUV, similar to the Santa Fe Sport by Hyundai. Like always great video Mike and keep up the great work! 50k subscribers! Woot! Woot!

My wife loves her 2017 Equinox, however Ford, and many others have been putting on, and supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay apps on stereos since at least 2017...
Chevy, not so much... You can't even run Bluetooth audio for music, just phone calls, and dealers seem to not have a solution.
I have a 2017 and I am able to play music through Bluetooth

wow I can't believe how much this car has changed since the '05 model i'm driving (bought it used a couple years back), never thought I'd go for an suv till my mom got me in it and I love it I recently got rear ended and expected the back to be totaled but not a scratch to it; the other car however lost most their hood (And I thought my nanas '66 mustang was a tank XD ) if this car ever dies (I pray a very long time from now) I so will go out and get another equinox!

The deal breaker for me is their is no A/C vents in the backseat. & living in Texas its to hot for a baby in the backseat. :( I hope Chevy puts in A/C in the back of the 2018!
I dont think theres A/C on none of that class of cars. You would have to get a midsize SUV or get Murano or Edge.

I really enjoy your reviews. I have a 2014 model and would love to upgrade to this 2017 model sometime. Quick question though...I watched another review and the gentleman mentioned that you would still have to use the manual key even if you remotely start your car while standing outside. Is that true? Or maybe I didn't get what he meant. I know it has remote start...so once started remotely, manual key can be kept on pocket?...like I have seen with the jeep grand Cherokee and Honda pilots? …Also, does it have the feature where the door opens automatically once you are within 3ft with the key? Just a feature I saw on the Jeep and other models. Thanks
You should be able to keep it in your pocket after remote starting and it should unlock when you get close yes

In comparison between this 2017 Equinox and the 2016 Equinox LT that I have, there really isn't that much of a difference from what I see. The dash and center console layout is exactly the same and I see that GM has put in the same 2.4 liter engine that I have.

I think it is very smooth and comfortable to drive however it depends on what you are used to.

2.4L 4 cylinder?!?? The 2007 chevy uplander (minivan) has a 3.9L v6
Jared Bergsma. The 2.4 was just the base engine option. A 3.6 V6 was also an option on these and they were very torquey and powerful.
Don't pay $95 for a spare key, order on internet for $16.

ThatGearHead It's not the official alarm, there is two modes to that Panic button, you have the vehicle locater so the horn chirps three times and the light flash, and if you hold it longer that's When the horn will blast.
This vehicle is THE BIGGEST GAS HOG I have ever had the displeasure of driving. Rent one before buying, and watch the fuel gage drop as soon as you start driving. God awful! And try to get the vehicle moving and then try to stop it. NO acceleration, and you have to put your foot to the floor and pray that you're able to stop. Absolute disappointment to drive. Live with one for a week before you buy.
