Hi I've been told I am pear shaped. I have short legs and short torso. I'm 62 and weigh 200lbs. I want to look taller and more proportion. I need help in choosing the right clothes.
Hi Terry! You're in the right spot! That's what I aim to do with my videos. I suggest diving into my Improve Your Style Series: ua-cam.com/video/4LD9I6wcqjU/v-deo.html where I share how to build your wardrobe and find your style plus tips on finding the right pieces as well. I'm also working on a wardrobe staples series with the first video dropping in the next week!
This video was AMAZING! I am pear shaped with a long torso. I’ve struggled for years with trying to balance it out. At this point in my life, I’m alll about accepting and accentuating this beautiful pear LOL I love that you spoke about the hourglass shape not having to be the standard. So many solid tips in this video! Thank you!!!
I'm so glad you got some useful tips from this video Ariana! What tip did you find the most helpful? I totally agree, the first step to killer style is def accepting your body as it is right now then you can accentuate it to make it look amazing!
@@LilMissJBStyle Yes! I found the part about shirt length to be very helpful. You were 100 percent right about shirts that stop at the hip. I find those to be the least flattering for my shape. I’ll be wearing crop tops all Summer ‘22! And I also agree about the low rise jeans. They have always felt weird and watching your video confirmed it!
Not to be dramatic but this video changed my life. Totally explained why I gravitate towards the styles I love (crop tops, high waisted jeans, dark bottoms) and why I’m struggling to make certain things work (anything that stops at the hips) THANK YOU!!!
Thank you so much. I have been watching all these pencil thin women telling me how to dress my pear shape. It's nice to hear this info from someone who lives her pear shape every day. And, doesn't always believe it's necessary to follow "the rules." I subscribed!
Thank you for caring. I am 73 years old and have spent my entire life making the same mistakes over and over again when I was buying clothing and didn’t know why it was wrong. I just knew I wasn’t looking my best. That’s a long time and expensive to not get it right.
Thank you so much. I want to show off my hips some days as well and other days I try to find balance. So many guides for us try to make us pear shaped women create balance.
My go to outfit are baggy sweatpants with a tight crop top, it accentuates my hips, and since I’m a very skinny pear shape, it really makes me so much more confident in my own skin
I can relate being a skinny pear shaped I thought I was skinny and rectangular until I noticed my experience with wearing straight fitted jeans with my waist. I straight up stop wearing jeans or when I did I would pin it up on the back to fit my waist. I noticed jogging pants works complimenting the waist and being Baggy around the hips
I just found this channel. Very well done. You were right on when you said to love what you wear and to be picky. I totally agree. I have a closet full of cheap crap that doesn’t fit properly and looks all wrong. I honestly feel like I am wearing rags! I’m in the process of getting rid of all of it. Now I will binge watch your channel. Thanks for the fantastic content 🩷
I like to dress in winter with opaque tights and dresses with ankle boots. In the summer, I west maxi dresses which are right through the bust and loose through my hips. An empire waist dress looks incredible on me. I have short legs and a king torso. The empire waist tricks the eye that my legs are longer. Thank you for this video.
Finally- found someone with the same body type as me lol pear with broad shoulders and overall toned. It’s hard to find anything that looks decent on me. Glad I found your Chanel because you have amazing tips
This is heaven sent. I have been seen a lot of video on my body shape but only in your video did I see someone very similar to my body type pear shape and short torso and also talks about short neck, your style is also my type of style. Thank you so much I have now someone as my personal model.
I just wanted to say thank you for making this video. Ive been feeling really bad about myself lately because I cant seem to loose weight . When I watched your video, it made me realize, my body is almost identical to you. I have a small waist and long legs, but definitely a butt and hips....and you look so great and slim in your clothes! Everything fits you so well! It makes me realize that I can feel good in my clothes if i just learn how to dress for my size better instead of buying clothes that are too tight! Thank you! 💛
So glad this video helped you out Lindsey! Your body is definitely beautiful regardless of the shape. I know it can feel overwhelming and stressful trying to find the right pieces but I urge you to just be patient and pick as hell! Like even if something feels just slightly off and you know you won't pay a tailor to fix it just set it back down. You'll save money plus learn quicker which pieces are more likely to work for you!
Girl thank you so much 😊 , I’ve heard tapered trousers are a no go but I’ve owned a white tailored one and they looked amazing on me , fitting pengo skirts they also look good and I’ve been told fitted skirts are a no 😭 I was so confused and then I landed on your channel ❤️😍 new subscriber 🎉
Hi. thanks for this video and you're absolutely beautiful. styling my small pear shaped body i go for high waisted bottoms, crop tops if its not cropped i prefer a tight fitting bodysuit. Jackets or sweaters either cropped or mid thigh
You are absolutely gorgeous I'm also a pear shape but with short legs & long torso😅 it's hilarious I look tall sitting in a car because of my torso 🤣 thank you for sharing your experience/advice. 💖you are the Best 🙌🏽
I’m 5 min into this video (on TV app) and went to my bedroom to get my iPad so I could like, subscribe and comment. This is the most consideration in a pear shaped dressing video regarding height, proportions and body shape
Thank you so so much! I def plan to make an updated one and talk more in depth about a few of the things I touched on too. If there's anything you wanted me to touch more on please let me know!!
Dear gosh thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and advice! It's been really frustrating and downright depressing looking for clothes at times because, at best, it felt like the very few clothes that fit me did not flatter me at all. I just kind of took whatever worked. No one ever told me about what different necklines and sleeve sizes can do. I just love too how some tops and things may not be the first choice certain stylists would pick out for me, but why should I have to sacrifice what I *want* to wear just to look like an hour glass shape? I don't want to dress like I'm ashamed of my hips. It's bad enough that finding pants has been a nightmare because my hips are so much wider than my waist. That part where you said as long as you figure out how to make a piece work for you that you can wear almost anything meant so much more than you realize. For so many years, clothes were just practical things I wore to keep myself covered. Videos like this help me finally feel like I can actually have fun with clothes and feel nice in what I wear. Thank you. ♥
Thank you for explaining this so well because I’m trying to determine my shape and I have slightly broader shoulders especially compared to bust area. One video I watched used shoulders to hips as the comparison and I was like … umm I’m confused 😅
I don't necessarily think you have to stay away from them, it's just about the look you're going for as well as the amount of effort you want to put into picking out a fit for the day.
I think all pear body shapes women are shaped differently?? Mine I have an extremely small waist and wide hips, my body looks nothing like yours, but those advice are very helpful, many thanks

yes ma'am I actually most of my shopping online and tend to stick to companies that allow for free returns so if I don't like something it's not a hassle to send it back.

Hi Brynne! Cargo pants/joggers definitely are flattering. The key is definitely a higher rise and a slightly looser fit kinda like these: rstyle.me/+6pVwA-_pBNiGW6pG99IDXw
Great question Tee! My personal go-to is monochrome outfits in darker shades like navy, olive green, burnt orange, etc. It keeps your proportions but the darker colors give a slimming effect!
I’m 68 years old I’m Gona turned 69 in two months and I’ have question I have 8cm memos my shoulders from my hips a big both I don’t know what type of shape I’m
Hey Marie! If your shoulders and waist are smaller than the widest part of your hips you're def a pair but there are other impacts like height as well that make it difficult to tell your body shape sometimes.
@@juliana_s8313 It's so crazy how little it's talked about even by stylists! Once I realized I had a shorter torso compared to my legs it made so much sense why a lot of my outfits would look just a little bit off sometimes.
