Will never be fortunate to own one of these beasts, but love the fact they exist, and that I saw them race as cutting edge cars back in the late 70s. Aussie Aussie Aussie !
Great Aussie Ford Falcon designed and built by Australian’s the sound is unmistakable of Aussie Muscle that is now being sold then taken from our Shores going into private collections around the World. I miss the day’s when watching the Races every second weekend with cars that you had to produce so many to be able to race them the sound nothing like with Ford & Holden having it out with a production Line Vehicle with a few modifications.
One of the short run of genuinely Australian designed fords after the XY (my first love but know they were a yank car) and the world euro car of the XD. For a good day 9 years at least, we had a fully Australian falcon.
The ground holding of those coupes was quite impressive and the LSD and 4 wheel disc brakes had a lot to do with that, I had a couple and boy they went around a corner if you were brave enough to power out. The cobra was a very special edition and I appreciate those who do drive their cars.
The sound of this car is absolutely breathtaking to hear. Especially, if you know where it's coming from. The closest thing I ever got to one of these, was my dads 351 Fairlane.
Probably because they are a cast iron engine with a long stroke, I’ve got a 351C in my XD ute and everyone says it sounds great and different to the new V8s.
Hi Ian, the Ford XC Falcon Cobra Coupe had a 351 Cleveland engine & there was 200 built with the 351 & 200 built with the 302 Cleveland. The first 30 cars with the 351 were 4 speed. The most famous XC Ford Falcon Coupe's would have to be the number 1 & 2 cars of Allan Moffat Racing , that in 1977 ran the 1 & 2 finish in the 1977 Bathurst race. If you can watch it on UA-cam, it would be the most famous finish to the race, EVER. Allan Moffat in the No 1 car & Colin Bond in the No 2 car. A true piece of Australian motor racing history.

@@eddiej9733 ed, eb, ea, au, ba, bf, fg and fgx were all fully Australian
Fantastic photography. Beautiful Tassie.
One of the best car videos ever! Come once in a while to watch It 🤘
What an amazing sound. The drone footage over the bridge at 0:54s is magnificent.
'No drones were harmed in this video'. But a few helicopters were though!

I love the notes, music to my ears. Great video 👌

Wow that is absolutely incredible, the sound is so raw and crisp, I love it.
That's how a car should sound!!
Great camera work. Magnificent sounding donk!
God the old falcon coupes sound like the pure racing gt40s
Probably because the engines are similar.
What a nice sound......going off
as a 60yo petrol head . so much noise come from 7 blade fan , simply music to my ears
Nice car, sound and coverage. Excellent.
I love my 2016 GT mustang with it's long tube headers etc but it has nothing on these great sounding old beasts 👍👍👍

Awesome vid... Every car enthusiast should watch It 🤘
Amazing 2 see, nearly 50years advance in tyres, brakes, shocks.Would luv 2 be giving an old OZY muscle car a run these day's.Looked magic.
Old classics with modern, tyres, ignition systems, suspension and especially brakes, are a rev-head drivers dream.
Now that music :)

There was also the 1978 xc 1/2 coupe which had some upgrades, only 146 were built 100 being a falcon 500 and the other 46 being fairmonts
Great video, more please, thank you
What a beauty...
Damm we made fukin awesome muscle cars back in the day 🇦🇺🇦🇺
XA XB XC V8 FALCON HARDTOPS & TARGA TASMANIA RULE. Love the Beast. Hello Dags.
Awesome.
Well hustled by the looks, wasn't very taily, look tight and sounded great 💪👍😊 wonder if it still has 351clevo
proper v8 sound...
Nice note to her. Good fuel.
It's warming up
This sounds sooooooo much better than the Holden Crummodores.
Hit me with a cold spoon.
Sounds great. Quarter mill car easy now
She looks warm to me
Music!
That's no stock 302 Cleveland,sounds great though
Probably the 351
It's a 5.8 it's below the Cobra on the fenders .
All I can say is...🤤😍
The car that should've been, rather than the gimmick to clear out the last remaining XC coupes
And I think that’s what makes them so desirable… a slap job with a name to clear the warehouse but at the same time the last of its kind
I didn' realise Targa competitors were allowed to break road rules
It's a race, on closed roads.
Who's breaking what rules???
