This new Sienna is equipped with a Hybrid engine A25A-FXS, Ater replacing oil and filter, you need to run the engine on service mode that'll keep the engine running and circulate the oil through the engine and filter. You can find some videos of how to run Toyota engine on service mode.

It wasn’t needed, I know some hybrid engine won’t start up during idle and you have to take it for a drive, the sienna engine turned on once I reversed it off the ramp and reparked it on leveled ground. The oil circulated throughout the engine, hence I topped the oil off till it was between the low and high mark on the dipstick.

The oil filter F2 place by N1.

Yes, N1 is the same size as F2. Not sure why Toyota replaced the F2 oil filter to the N1, but either one will work.

I have a question about the access panel. Why do some access panels (see Camry) have vents and some don’t (see sienna)?

Vents as in an open area for the access panel? Most of the panels I’ve seen is covering the oil filter and drain plug so nothing hits it. Could be just for aerodynamic for the vehicle.

Sad that CAFE standards and ever increasing efficiency requirements make Toyota recommend 0w-16 when 0w-20 or even 5w-30 would protect the engine more at the expense of lower fuel efficiency. Do you want to protect your engine longer or you want the best fuel efficiency possible? It is truly sad that the Toyota Manual specifically demands 0W-16 which is less protective. The A25-FXS Engine is used across the world. In Mexico, the recommended viscosity is 5w-30 everywhere for this engine. If you're anal, you could go for Mobil 1 0w-30 oil.

No issues with it in California, maybe other states but Cali weather hasn’t affect the engine with 0w-16 oil.

@@NutzAboutBolts This is the same 2.5L 4 cylinder engine used in RAV4s, Camry's, and numerous other Toyota hybrids worldwide. If you look at the manuals overseas, 0W16, 0W20, 5W20, 5W30, and 10W30 are all spec for this engine if it satisfied ISLAC GF-6 . Only in the USA where CAFE standards result in punitive economic outcomes to manufacturers based on fuel efficiency does the manual force-feed 0W-16 on you. Better fuel economy but LESS PROTECTION for engine wear. 5W-30 is perfectly safe, and actually better in limiting engine wear but you will get lower fuel economy. Toyota of America just has to bend over to the fuel efficiency overlords. In Sunny California, I'd run 5w-30 all year and protect my engine even more at maybe a 4% fuel efficiency penalty. Screw 0w-16.

@@NutzAboutBolts Agree. But the North America/USA manual makes it sound as if the engine would self-destruct if you didn’t use anything except 0W-16. This is deceptive documentation from Toyota of America. Any ISLAC GF-6 oil will work.

@@badkid73I haven’t look at the manual but if you do use a thicker oil, the engine will be working harder through the thicker oil, and hence your gas mileage will go down.
