    Mr. Cahill I have to say you have one of the most enjoyable channels I have seen on UA-cam. I really enjoy your designs and the depth of detail you go into showing us each step of the process. I have learned a tremendous amount from you and just wanted to take the time to thank you for sharing not only your talent but your time with us as well.❤🙏❤

    I love how you kept filming your video even when you realised that it wasnt a perfect solder join. Not only does that show humility, but it shows us how to fix our own errors. That is the definition of a great teacher. You take your student along the same learning path with you. That act alone lead me to subscribe to your channel. thank you and I look forward to watching many more of your tutorial videos. Thanks a whole bunch from down under..........Australia xxxxx

    Mr. Cahill, thank you for the video. Are you using round or half-round wire for this bangle?

    Where do you get your metal?

    Hey Pat! Thank you so much for all of your videos! You make such beautiful art. Can I ask, do you use flashback arrestors on your little torch? Are they a necessity? I inherited one from my Dad but he doesn’t have them on there. It’s got a large ish oxygen tank and a small disposable propane tank and they don’t make arrestors for disposable tanks. You are a pro jeweler so I thought it best to ask you. Thanks again so much for everything!

      Yes I do in the case of the Smith Little Torch the hoses are pre attached, so the flashback arrestors is attached between the regulators and the hose.

    Watched some of your videos last night, I really enjoy the detail. One question on this one. For an average bangle how much wire (length) are you starting with?

    • @patcahillmetalworks322

      I not sure what the average bangle size is, probably 2.5 inch internal diameter. So for a 2.5 inch internal diameter bangle you would need 2.5 plus the thickness of the wire (mine are 0.1 inch) so 2.6 inches times Pi ~3.14 which gives you 8.164 inches. I hope that helps.

    I'm really new at all this. Do I anneal the silver first thing. I'm having troubles with breaking at the twist

    • @patcahillmetalworks322
      @patcahillmetalworks322  Рік тому

      You can anneal first if your wire stock is not dead soft. Although not necessary you can also anneal after bending and hammering down the twist to make it easier to open up. Now if you are breaking the metal at the twist you are either making it way to thin or stressing it too much by bending it back and forth reaching its limit of elasticity. It should not be breaking at the twist, you must be doing something terribly wrong but I would need more information to determine what that is.

    How long is the 10 gauge wire?

    • @patcahillmetalworks322

      That would depend on the size of the hand that the bangle is being made for. I go over how to size a bangle in this video: ua-cam.com/video/muUWDOrH8CI/v-deo.html

    Hello Mr Cahill, maybe annealing too hot or too much?
