Probably my favourite Beatle's song, which is not easy to say because of the insane amount of brilliant songs they wrote, it's almost like being asked to choose between your children !

Eleanor Rigby is such pure poetry too. One line talks about an old lady who never married and died alone, but it says, “Eleanor Rigby died in the night (edit- a church) and was buried along with her name. Nobody came.” So beautiful the way they put words together.

And what does George do for a follow up? After The Beatles officially break up, he goes off and makes one greatest records ever. All Things Must Pass. So many amazing songs, some dating back to The White Album sessions. But he was the third man on the totem pole so he had to wait for his time to shine.

This is not quite right. George has slowly been able to build up his self-confidence. Certainly understandable given the competition in the band, he was also still the youngest. But look at 'Let It Be' tapes or movie. George is still quite unsure about the direction his songs will take. John, Paul and Ringo talk to him for days and work on his songs together. In the end, his versions on All Things Must Pass are pretty close to what he had worked out with the other Beatles.

So many aspects of this arrangement are worthy of comment. Ringo's drumming, Paul's bass lines, George's vocal and iconic guitar solo. Love Hey Bulldog and Altogether Now which actually prevented me from thinking of taking my own life. I pulled out a Beatles album and Altogether Now saved me. Who could die with such a song playing? Not me for sure.
