    Hai,i'm from India.In my childhood days,i got a 6v dc motor from a cassette player..It was a precious thing in my life in that days..I bring it in school and show the working to all my friends...This exp. hurts me a little bit...Better u giv these motors to some kids..You can see their joy.

      Me too , Dennis . I still have my first two electric motors from junior school days. You're right ; very precious and taught me a lot. As for "these motors have a governor in them " . . . ! ! ! . . perhaps he would have been better taking them apart to learn more , rather than just destroying them for youtube "fame". ( UK here )

      @bbethan69 true, i just think in india and other poor countries, you cherish these "expensive" electronics muuch, much more than in rich, developed countries. Imagine being dirt poor living in a hut and suddenly you get this cool electronic motor that runs on a battery, i mean even i would be cherishing it lol.

    I don't want to disagree for the sake of simply doing so. You called that part that flew out a governor. Two issues I have with that. One if they are governed internally then your adding voltage should not have changed the RPM. Two why did that "governor" look like a brush and brush spring?

    • @HL4EHalfLife
      @HL4EHalfLife  7 років тому +1

      It was the governor, what I had in my hand was a tiny weight and the flat spring metal it was mounted to.

    They actually have brushes, overtime the brushes wear out quickly,,in this case you just need to replace the brushes with new one,,i have a DC motor like this and when i have little fun of them,the brush got wear out,,so just replace with new one and back to normal,,no need to throw to the garbage,,unless the armature Burned out

    I think m at right Place to ask a question and sort out my problem facing from past few weaks . The question is i am making a Automated Mechanism "a latch lifter" yes u listen right "a latch lifter" rather than a door Opener bcz it will cost much and i wanted to do it a cheap as Possible i have probably arrange few things but The Question is the latch is about 250-300gm and i was searching for a cheap but effective dc motor with high Torque which can lift that much of weight there is no matter of speed so plz tell me which motor will be the best ?? reply Asap !
