Well I just can't believe this recipe... I was so curious I had to do it right away after viewing your video. This is truly amazing! I went up to my husband and got him to try it without telling him what it was besides the pineapple. He loved it too! I love real mayo and pineapple so yes it makes since having the tang and the sweet. Thank you for sharing this recipe. Cheers Vancouver Canada
This is so unique sounding to me but I bet it's delicious. I think I will try it out. I was raised in a family that always used Miracle Whip (I'm not from the south) but have found in the last few years that I really prefer mayonnaise, the flavor can't be beat!
I love pineapple salad and find most people don’t have a clue about it and immediately think it sounds awful. My husband’s favorite salad was a slice of canned pear, Mayo and cheese.
Mom made a peach salad. Peach half on a lettuce leaf, dab of mayo on peach with cheddar sprinkled on top. Very good. I still make it. The only difference I made was to mix a bit if the peach juice into the mayo.
My mother used to take a piece of lettuce, slice of pineapple or pear, grated cheese and of course, Duke's mayonnaise. It was so good. I am going to make this for my lunch. Thank you, Mama Sue for a great recipe. I like it without the lettuce, but I know lettuce is good for you.
I still make pineapple salad for my family! We usually have it with spaghetti! Lettuce first, then pineapple slices cheese and a dollop of Mayo on top! It's delicious! My mother also made this salad!
My mother did that same thing and even put a half maraschino cherry on the little dollop of mayo on the top. There didn't seem to be anywhere near the variety of salads back then. I also remembered her cutting a banana in half and leaving it somewhat connected. Then she'd fill it with peanut butter mixed with honey. 😊
That really looks good. I have tried to like Dukes mayonnaise but I just don't. I live near Mauldin, SC where there is a Sauer's plant that makes Duke's mayonnaise. I used Hellman's for years until I found out that China now owns them. I only use Kraft now. I made this salad before using the sliced pineapple. Will definitely try this recipe. Thank you Mama Sue.
Looks great. I will have to try. Paula Deen has a pineapple casserole recipe on her site that is delicious too. It has cheese in it and a cracker topping.
Mama Sue, have you ever eaten a pineapple casserole? Stacy Little, “Southern Bite” has the recipe posted on his page, IT IS DELICIOUS! I believe you and Mr. Harold would love it. God bless you both.

That would be good with toasted pecan pieces!

Mama Sue, I made this recipe! Surprisingly good. My question is, should you be tasting more pineapple or mayo taste? Ty Mama Sue. Pam from Florida
Looks mighty good. I have not made it that way, I usually use pineapple rings put Kraft Mayonnaise on it then the cheese.

Is your family southern? I've had the pear salad and it is good! A blast from the past.

Have got to try this. I love pineapple sandwiches, p. casserole and pineapple by itself. Just never thought of it this way. Yum!

If you have never used white cheddar cheese instead of the yellow I suggest you try it. Tastes so much better!
No can do on mayonnaise, I wish I liked it 😢
Are we all watching the same video? There is no way that this atrocity is edible
Nope don’t like pineapple
I never would have put those ingredients together. But I’m going to try it.
Me neither and pretty sure I won’t.
Looks delicious 😋
