IM TOTALLY AMAZED AT HOW THIS IDEA CLEANED MY POPCORN CEILING, I WAS TRYING ALL THE WRONG THINGS AND HERE IT WAS ALL THE TIME, THANK YOU SO MUCH 😊 IM A HAPPY CAMPER 😂
Thanks for sharing this example. I tried using a lint roller. It helped a little. I was told by a construction worker that all popcorn ceilings have asbestos in it. But I can’t stand the built up dust. So disgusting. So vacuuming I’ll do.
Unless the ceiling was applied prior to 1990 that's unlikely. Asbestos was banned for spray-on applications in 1990, even before that, it was being phased out.
many people have asbestos popcorn walls. I moved into a place and I hate it. The upstairs is popcorn walls and ceilings and it was built in 1942 and it does have asbestos if I knew that in the first place.
I used an ostrich feather duster and the dust balls fell to the ground. Kind of messy but no popcorns fell off because the feather duster is so gentle.
I hate my popcorn ceiling, I wish my apartment landlord would get some workers to come an scrap it all off for a smooth ceiling, I'd help them do it too.
@johnking7454 It hasn't been used simce the 60s unless the home was built in the 60s its not much a worry and even then its early 60s at the latest really
Best video ever! 😊 I have been searching for a way to clean these dumb ceilings. I improvised a little bc it was 4 am and used a swiffer mop with a microfiber mit attached to it. Worked amazingly!

Spraying with water through a spray bottle can help, too! Since it’s not pulling on or touching the popcorn

Great idea! Spraying with some water can help it, too, I’ve heard but haven’t tried it
I USED A MICROFIBER MOP AND IT WORKED OUT WELL
The microfiber probably helps a lot!

MASK & GOGGLES, and keep your mouth closed 😊
Haha mouth closed is good advice!
What brush attachment did you use?
Just the small brush. Think it’s like the 4 or 6” brush.
Dry mop
Will try!
What type of vacuum do you use?
It’s this one! Craftsman 16 gal Wet/Dry Vac: amzn.to/438kMlg
Looks like my ceiling but mine has asbestos
Well, paint over it? 🤣
When was your home built? Asbestos in ceilings was banned in 1990.

Mine has asbestos as well, home was built in 1971.

Omg thank you so much for the feedback and kind words! So glad it helped!
Can't do that in a stairwell. A mop with bleach??
Attach the vacuum hose to a long pole? Starts with keeping air filters changed regularly!
If you get the popcorn cieling wet it will slough off like wet plaster and drip everywhere
