Helinox Ground Chair REVIEW - A Perfect Camping Chair?

Levi G is reviewing camping gear. This time, the Helinox Ground Chair that he has been using constantly for a while now. This is the first proper review I've made, so I don't know if I included all the needed information. I've made First Impressions before, but that's something else. Anyway, I tried to make it entertaining as well for you guys, because I know reviews can be pretty boring. But m...

Sleeping In My TICKET TO THE MOON Hammock

Levi G tries to sleep in his Ticket To The Moon hammock. It is a simple hammock with no bugnet or tarp, but with nice weather and not too many bugs, he has high hopes that it will do its job. It was pretty nice testing out this hammock. I have always just used it as a hammock to lounge it when I've been on smal trips. However, this time I wanted to test out if it was possible to spend the night...

From the initial setup to the first night of use, I...

Winter Camping in my Hennessy Hammock

Levi G taking his Hennessy Hammock out on a cold adventure while having his usual fun in the woods. It was a challenge to record this. My jacket kept rubbing up on my microphone too. But I think it turned out to be a...

Haha yeah, not using that one anymore... 😂
It's actually Schnitzel. So, Cheeseschnschniztzel then. Missing some bearnaeisauscese sauce tho! P.S : The game. You just lost it.
It’s actually bearnaisesauce
Good to know, I'll get it right next time 😎
The human dictionary coming for the rescue 😁 Bearnaisesauce.. Not easy to remember 🤔😅
Like the idea of the foil in the hammock 👍 Might have to try this but wanted to know if it slides around ?
If you hook the bungee cord that's attach to the pad, to the hammock somehow, it stays pretty much in place. But I have woken up one night, when it was not hooked up, and it was practically ontop of me. So yes, if you can't connect it to your hammock, it can slide very easily. Thanks a lot for commenting!
what topquilt was that
It is the Burrow 20 from Hammock Gear. Good thing you asked, because I had to check the video description, and by mistake, I had wrote UnderQuilt instead of OverQuilt. It's fixed now. Thanks for commenting!
@@LeviGAdventure lol np so ok wat was the under quilt ??? dwl sry loving my hmk gear 40f topquilt i snagged recently through marketplace... and billows a gd tarp .. u seen hill zero stuff yet?
@@RootsLion It's called "DD Hammocks Underblanket". It is synthetic and not warm enough for winter. So I am saving up to get Hammock Gear's underquilt, since the top one was a banger. Never heard of Hill Zero, but I looked it up now. Looks like pretty cool stuff. Thanks for letting me know, I'll have to take a deeper look into them later! 😁
Very creative!
Thank you so much! 😁

I to have a Chameleon and a HG Burrow along with a HG Incubator, both are 20°. I use the Warbonnet SuperFly, very similar to your Onewind. I carry a nylon tote bag from Ikea (not a blue poly bag) to collect wood for my stove, then I can hang it out of the rain. I can also use it to store my boots in, to keep bugs out of them at night. Have you looked into the firebox nano stove? it is a folding, fit in your shirt pocket, multi fuel, wood stove. Steve (firebox founder, and innovator) has some brilliant ideas when it comes to camp cooking. Keep posting your adventures, love em.
That is a very good idea. That bag doesn't take up much space, and can be used for multiple things. Thanks! I checked that stove out when I was looking to buy a stove. I ended up with the one in the video because the size fits my need perfectly. But it would be nice to have both a smaller one and a larger one. These stoves are very compact and super useful! Thanks for your lovely comment!
Always a good day when a Levi G video drops. Hope you made it to work on time!
Thanks for the comment! And yes, I made it just in time! 😁
Great video Levi 🤠👍🏼 Love the Halloween ghost 👻 😄
Thank you! Yes, I love it too 😁👻
NO WAY u knitted that hat u self😅 That hammock looks lit AF🔥🔥
Haha, gotta get ready for winter ;D
I enjoy watching your videos, keep them coming!
That makes me very happy to hear! I'll do my best to make more 😁
Brilliant video I enjoyed it, looks like the chill kind of camping I do myself!
Thanks a lot for the lovely comment! I can see you have made some videos yourself. I'll check them out later! 😁
Yeah dude, you need to spread butter on both sides of that sandwich and then grill it slowly on low heat, turning and checking it frequently. One of my favorites! 😊
Thanks for the tip! I feel so stupid for being able to screw up a toast. I guess the heat was waay too hot, and yeah, should probably used butter on both sides! 😅
The design on that frying pan is Sinister 😂
That is true! What was the designer thinking? 😂
Always find peace in mind when looking at ur videos Levi🔥🔥🙏 Keep em coming❤
Thanks a lot! 😁🔥🔥
Are we to believe he slept with a ball cap on all night? This is some weak tea bro.
I usually always sleep with something on my head when sleeping outside. A head without hair gets cold pretty quickly, haha 😅
A had a lot of condensation. Easier to go with a hang tight down underquit on etsy. Same size and warmer.
I am currently looking for an underquild that can replace my current setup. I just have to save up money before I buy something. I want to try to get something of quality this time, so I don't need to upgrade again in under a year. It will probably be from Hammock Gear, but I've not decided yet. Underwuilts are so insanely expensive!
Potomac UnderQuilt by Arrowhead Equipment. This under quilt is designed for all Hennessy Hammocks. It is not down so a bit bulky, but I recommend it to anybody that loves their Hennessy. Enjoyable post.
Waiting for Z packs to make the pot cozy so I can be cool like the other ultra-fucks. I would pay 360.00 for something like that lol haha 😂😂😂
keep it up
I'll bet you are a hoot to camp with.
I haven't camped with anyone in yeeears, so I don't know 🤔 But I hope so at least! 😁 Thanks a lot for your comment! 🔥
Can you make pine needle tea with all pine needles or are some from some trees not good for you?
I believe there are some pines in different countries that have needles that could be harmful. I've only done research about the pines in Norway. I would highly suggest to research the edibles in your region before consuming anything. Thanks for commenting! 🔥
For a bigger tarp, I think that some of them can be purchased via Amazon or PayPal & you can do monthly payments. I have sometimes got stuff this way when money is tight
I didn't know those sites had that option. I've just got delivered a tarp that I bought (from Onewind). But when I start looking for an underquilt and overquilt, I'll be sure to see if I can make a downpayment plan, because those are pretty expensive 😱 Thanks for the tip!
@@LeviGAdventure No problems. Glad to help
Any issues with condensation while using the bubble pad? That seems to be a common complains when using "reflectix" or Closed Cell Foam sleeping pads in a hammock.
So far I have not noticed anything, but it has not been on my thoughts. I'll be sure to check on it next time. But it has never been an issue that I have noticed. Thanks a lot for the comment!
Åsane have alot of unspoiled nature still. Most people dont know it, and we should keep it our secret :-)
That is true! I till try to hide some of the locations form the camera 😅🤫
Nice
Thanks for the comment! 🔥
Sleep in my TTTM for many years at home already, and when on the road i use the DDhammocks Frontline XL as the bugnet is integraded. Never need a ridgeline just hang it right. TTTM now has the Pro, with integrated net, looks very nice.
Maybe I'll look into the TTTM Pro. I also have an eye on the Chamelion hammock from dutchware, as that hammock is very modular. BUT it is very expensive. Thank you so much for the comment ant the tips. Really appretiated! 🔥
I'm enjoying the heck out of your adventures. I'm in the PNW, and have been using HH since 2000. I started with a symmetrical classic (birth canal) and about 5 years ago switched to the 2 layer Jungle Expedition, Asym. But about 6 months ago I switched again to a Dutchware Chameleon . I was having claustrophobic issues in the HH 10'. The Chameleon is an 11' hammock. I have not hung the Chameleon between trees yet, just been using it with my Tensa4, about a dozen nights. But I can't live without (well I probably could, I just don't want to) my snake skins. One for the tarp, another for the hammock. You need to get some snake skins, makes deployment a snap as well as bug out. Anyway, keep your boots waxed and you ketchup bottle full.
Thank you so much for that comment! I really loved to read it. I am looking into getting myself a chameleon hammock, since it is so dynamic. But it consts a lot, and also I need to pay extra taxes to get it into norway. I have bought a tarp from Onewind, with a snake skin. I feel like a little kid waiting for it. It's currently in sipping. Again, thanks a lot for you insightful comment! 😁
Loving the editing. keep up the great work!
Thanks a lot! I'll do my best 😁
The forest is spooky at night 👻
I have a 2x2 tarp but think I need a larger. How large is your?
I think my tarp isabout 2x2. Maybe a little bit more. I woudn't feel safe in it in windy conditions. You always have to keep in mind the gear you store under your hammock as well.
You need at least 3x3 tarp or even 3x4 for better shelter from wind and sideback rain, not only from sun
I've used a tarp and hammock almost exclusively in all seasons, severe spring storms, winter snow, all of it. But my tarp is WAY bigger than that one! Rain comes sideways you need shelter! But I love how you can kick back in your hammock and still cook, still look around at nature.
i really want to get myself a bigger tarp, maybe with doors. But it costs a lot of money, or takes up a lot of space. Can I ask what kind of insulation you are using under you, when sleeping in a hammock? Pad? Underquilt?
@@LeviGAdventure Aquaquest tarp, 10x13, weighs 2 pounds, costs around $100. Lifetime Warranty. If that’s too much money get a plastic tarp from Harbor Freight. I use an Army poncho liner as an under quilt, or an insulated mat.
I just happened to find your Channel and decided to take a look. I watch a few camping/bushcraft channels: Simon a Bloke in the Woods, Kent Survival, Xander Budnick, Don VonGun whenever he posts, and a few others sometimes. I also watch a couple of van living videos because I enjoy going vicariously to all the places I'll never go. I wish you luck! I'll subscribe to give your Channel a boost.
I'm actually already subscribed to all of them except Don VonGun. So thanks for the tip, his channel looks interesting! Thank you so much for you comment, it's always nice to see people willing to spend time watching the video and commenting! And thanks a lot for giving me a shot by subscribing. It means a lot! 🤩
I don't know why hennesy don't sell the insulation they use in the survivorman hammock separately , the bubble pad is a good idea but I've never used it after I bought it lol , I got the survivor man hammock so my jungle xl isn't used much these days, I be more worried about that meat than some black toast 😂😂
Yes, that is true. Would be nice if they sold it seperately! Haha, don't worry. The meat is already pre-prepared. You're actually meant to put it on bread and eat it without even warming it up. So I'll survive 😂
What hennesy model is that?
It is the "Hennessy Hammock Explorer Deluxe Zip XL". Thanks for commenting!
i use a hennessy with double layer i use the closed cell foam pad till below zero the add the bubble pad for real cold nights i leave it in the hammock when i pack it into a compression bag
That is a very good idea! Thanks for the tip! I really want to try out a double layer hammock.
Need to stop background music
Thanks for the feedback! I plan to add less and less music in the background. Right now it's there to hide awkward silences and all the jump-cuts in audio. I still struggle a lot when it comes to talking to the camera, especially in English. When I get more comfortalbe speaking to the camera, I think I will only use music in the non-speaking "scenes". Agan, thanks for commenting!
@@LeviGAdventure good stuff look forward to your stuff in the future :)
Why are your legs above head? its very unhealthy.
It only looks that way besause of the camera angle. When I was sleeping I was pretty mutch very straight. But thanks for commenting and the concern!
What brand and model of underquilt is that?
It is called the "DD Hammocks Underblanket." Synthetic fill. Packs down small, but is much colder than stated by the company. After a lot of use, I would not use it below 7 degrees Celsius.
@@LeviGAdventure Okay thanks. I'm in Florida so that's no worry here, but for trips north it's good to know. I'm mainly looking for something that fits a Hennessy Explorer Asym well.
A tip is to get a skillet with one of those grippy thongs they are kind of handy and still easy to pack if you don't want a solid handle. Thanks for a great video!
I have seen skillets like that. I guess those are way better, but I know for sure I would lose the handle on my very first camp with it 🙈 I do have the Summit Skillet (from JetBoil) that have a handle that folds the other way around. That makes way more sense. But that skillet is a lot bigger, so more to pack with me... But thank you SO much for your comment. I always love getting recommendations in the comment. I have a lot to learn!
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Thanks a lot for saying so! Your comment truly made me happy 😁
My 11yr old granddaughter loves camping but we have never been hammock camping trying to get her think about it..but not sure about me trying it never done it before...
Hammock camping in the beginning can include a lot of fiddling about before you can get a good "hang." I recommend testing it out first before you go deep into the woods, especially if you have a cheap hammock with no structural ridgeline. But once you have gotten used to it, it can grant you a restful sleep you will never forget. And thank you so much for your comment. And I really hope your granddaughter gets a lot of good experiences with you out camping! You are truly giving her a gift by doing so.
@@LeviGAdventureI purchased a compact hammock and tarp also about the same as yours made by Wise Owl $30 US each from Amazon will test it out this weekend before I purchase another for my granddaughter. Tarp comes with stakes and guy lines. Thanks for responding to my comment!
I have been hammock camping for over 40 years , I have 3 Hennesy Hammocks and a couple cheep single layer hammocks just for hanging out , if you are thinking about trying it out I suggest doing some research a head of time , there are some good books too , The Ultimate Hang is a good starting guide .
@@scottcarter4388 good start but be careful not to get the cold butt syndrome , insulation is a must below single layer hammock .
Same with my 9 year old son. We love to camp together. But my back kills me on air mattress. My son is pretty easy going. We are going on a 3 day 2 night camping / trout fishing trip in September. Bought us some entry level hammocks. Plan on brining the tent and gear for back up. Really hoping we can make it work hammocking.
Great video I gave you a wee sub aswell
Thank you so much! I really appretiate it. Thank you for watching! 🤩
I use a Hennessy hammock with the bubble pad. I go on canoe trips so have a little more cargo space but I wrap it around my internal dry bag in my canoe pack and the bulk is not noticeable. Mulch easier to set up - I have jungle hammock so slide it between layers. Enjoyed the video and I also enjoy pine tea. Cheers from Canada.
Sounds like you go on amazing trips! Canoe trips is something I really want to try. And thanks for the tip. I'll try to test out ways to minimize the bulk, because the pad really helps to keep me warm at night.
