I get all excited about getting to the moment where I can "go to town" on clothes. But MALE figures keep showing up in my laborious projects and they persist in hanging around. I let a few stay, hoping they would go away , but now I have to , well, never mind. The great news is, I went to get birdseed at the hardware store and sample paints were 50% off. I got three colors that are LUSCIOUS house paints and have had a blast all afternoon. I seem to perform better with house paint. Thank you SO MUCH for being the Color Queen. I will never be the same because of your mentorship. To think there was a time in your history that you didn't use colors, is unfathomable.
That’s amazing!!! Years ago…I was using chalk paint to redo some of my furniture and the leftovers were so luscious, I started using them in my art. Have fun …and thanks for calling me the Color Queen ☺️🤗😘 I LOVE that!! But yes…sadly there was a time when I was afraid to use colours and I will perhaps talk about that in a future video 😭 Thanks for being you 🤩
On the dress where the oil pastel didn't work made me think of a time or someone who is having hardships and her dress is old and needs repairs. That blue pastel was a gorgeous, rich color!
Patricia…I absolutely love your perspective…just thinking about it makes me swoon because it tells a story!!!! So many stories 🥰 Thank you for sharing that! 👩🎨🎨🖌️😘
I loved the background and held my breath as you were painting over it. Then I loved how it sorta showed through the blue. Really pretty. I wonder if there is glue in the spot that the oil pastel isn’t sticking or maybe no glue or collage and the oil doesn’t want to stick to the original book. Gorgeous look anyway.
Hi Brenda! I can’t figure out why it won’t stick in that particular spot! It’s not the original cardboard book page that’s resisting it because I cover it completely with collage. But I, too, like the crumbly look where it shows through! PS I made a video about a week ago where I showed the tea bags I use and how I prepare them to use in my art, wondering if you managed to see it as you were asking? Happy creating 🎨👩🎨😅
@@brendawalsh8254oh! I’m so glad…I hope my explanation was helpful? Just use whatever teabag you have as I’m sure they are all slightly different but have the same basic properties.
Hi Adriana…that’s a great observation! I don’t think that’s the case here because I applied collage all over the page and allowed it to completely dry (over weeks!) but…who knows? I ended up loving the distressed look but still puzzled at why the oil pastels resisted. Thanks for your feedback and happy creating 🎨👩🎨🖌️

@@sorayanulliah Thank you for sharing how art can have a story! I really love that!
Yes Patricia…one of the things I absolutely love about art…especially our journals!!

@ yep I saw it. I had to catch up on a few but I’m caught up now.

Moist accumulation in paper can cause the oil pastels not adhere. That had happened to me before. I'm guessing....
