Thanks! Right now I’m using most of what I’m milling green so I haven’t really put them to use yet, but I figured I should start there so I have them and they would be good practice.
The water switch is amazing. I love it.
Cut from the small end to limit the number of mill run cuts. That is where the board footage is measured from. Neat idea on your water modification. Please put on the chaps whenever you are using the chain saw, it only takes once. Good series Lucas.

That is a definite must have upgrade. It works so well when milling. You need to try the stock system on a few logs and then switch over. It’s amazing.
I have never put sycamore on my mill Lucas. I have heard it is pretty wood and has a nice Ray Fleck.
Nice job. I thought I was doing something wrong when I first started milling too,having a log bow like that, but it is just muscle memory of a hard leaning tree. Hard wood trees do it more than soft wood

I remember my shop instructor saying no watches, long air (unless tied up), loose clothing or long shirt sleeves (unless rolled up). If your shirt had not been loose the 4X4 would undoubtedly have come out straight. 😄 I am impressed with the water shut off and your grapple skills!

You may not have turned that knob. The blades can stretch a little when first put on. May need to check the tension the first few cuts until it is dialed in and stays.
I didn’t think of that. You may be right. I will just keep close tabs on it for a bit and see how it does.
Hay buddy you should be able to wire that solenoid into your on off switch and not have to use a battery to power it .
That would be nice, but I’m not so sure…. Doesn’t the kill switch work through ground? My mill isn’t electric start…
