In my Conversations With a Dragon fantasy novel I purport that the legend of the Tengu, and the confusion of its illustrations-man/bird or bird/man-is a result of Jingo-ji's sending its abbot to the sea in a sealed boat on his 60th birthday . . . a boat full of crafted treasures . . . supposedly as an offering for the "gods". In fact (according to my narrative) they're sending him out to meet with a boat from the Mayan empire. The Mayans trade emeralds, gold, and silver, for the Japanese sword blades and various other goods not sold in Mayan stores. And the old abbot (from the last event) returns by night in the same "sealed" boat, then is met and the goods snuck back up to the temple. The reason the temple worships a bird god and promotes the tengu myth is because there is also an embassy there, with the usual Mayan priests dressed in robes and cloaks made of-you guessed it-bird feathers. And lately, it turns out that the Mayans and Japanese might've known about each other through trading boats. Hehehe. Point gladly accepted.
Now we know that ntr was not the creation of hentai artists but it was creation of ancient Japanese dude's for power, they don't even know that they have cursed humanity for forever
