My first time trying them was horrible as well and I thought I'm never doing that again. But I did. And I'm really glad about that 💕
julia pokojska Tampons are bad for your body . There are pads out there that aren’t bulky and are actually comfortable . Tampons can cause toxic shock syndrome . And tampons essentially plug your vagina so it does soak up a lot of blood but some blood isn’t able to come out which isn’t good for you and can prolong your period . A lot of pads are made of recycled plastic as well and are bleached ( as well as some tampons ) . I recommend you guys use Cherish pads or natural/organic pads that are made of cotton ( the more layers of cotton the better ) .
I totally freaked, and chickened out the first time I tried to put in a tampon. But the second time I grit my teeth and did it, and it wasn't that bad. It felt like the biggest accomplishment of life lol; I was so proud of myself😂😂.

Good for them for going online and doing this. I didn’t use tampons until I was 24. Not all of us have a sister or mother (or another willing person!) to guide us with these things. It’s nice to see they’ve made a first experience like this visible to young people who may need to use a tampon one day but may be afraid to do so without help. Just remember health education isn’t always accessible - thank you, Seventeen!

Rose’s Lost Food C: actually tampons are not painful if you insert them right :/ So you shouldn’t really feel anything when they’re in . And they are way more easier to deal with . With pads I feel like Im sitting on a diaper full of blood .
In second grade we ran out of tissues and my friend got a nose bleed so my teacher put a tampon in their nose Edit: I dont understand why this got so many replies I honestly thought this was normal I- 😂

Honestly, tampons are great, you just have to learn how to properly use them. And it takes practice. Some tips: you should be able to feel it, but it shouldn't be uncomfortable. I usually put one foot on the toilet when I put one in so that it gives you the right angle, and I take a deep breath, pushing it in when I exhale so that I'm relaxed and its less uncomfortable. Also, push it in until it gets to the grip part. And you don't have to be afraid! In order to stay safe from TSS don't wear them for more than 8 hours and don't sleep in them unless you're gonna sleep for less than 8 hours.
If your tampon is uncomfortable it isn't up far enough. Your tampon should be hidden by the skin and it should feel as if it isn't even there. *Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk no one cares about-*
The first time I tried a tampon it was fine going up but when I tried pulling it out, (it was in for like a minute) I walked around for a minute then tried taking it out, it hurt. So my grandma said I should put Vaseline on the applicator then shove it up there, and *leave it in there* . Sure enough it worked!!!!
To the women who have tried and failed to use a tampon despite knowing where your anatomy is and clearly understanding how to insert it: try to make sure you are comfortable and not anxious when doing it. For some women, anxiety can cause the muscles down there to tighten, making penetration (like inserting a tampon) difficult, painful, or sometimes even impossible. Learning to be comfortable with the idea of a tampon can go a long way to how physically comfortable it is to use. If these symptoms happen often or are simply negatively impacting your happiness in any way, I suggest seeing a doctor. Vaginismus is a thing and it can be treated. I just wanted to mention this in case anyone reading this is experiencing these symptoms and doesn't know why. Not being able to have comfortable penetration isn't something that is talked about often, but it isn't rare by any means.
thank you for this!! I am extremely anxious person and was just determined to get it in there and I think I was just stressed and wasn’t able to. This made me realize!
it's perfectly fine 😂 once it's in you can't feel it at all 👍🏾 and think about it when you wear pads you're sitting in your own nastiness 🤢🤢 I recommend using the applicator type
Rnm_luvyrslf well, I’d rather sit in the nastiness then have it all in my body. I’d just rather sit in it than have all that bacteria and blood sitting in my body in one place.
QwaliSims It is not exactly IN you it is in the tampon. The tampon soaks itself with the blood for only a few hours. And if it was bad for you. People wouldn’t sell it Btw. Tampons hemmen bzw. stoppen den Bakterienwachstum und die Toxinproduktion.
Fun fact: my grandma never used a tampon when she had her period. Here’s a quick story she told me (not going into full detail) that morning she put on her pad normally and in second period (school) she felt the pad was moving around even tho her pants weren’t. In last period the pad fell down her bottoms and almost fell to the ground.
Pankychu Nope! it doesn’t hurt unless you put it in right and relax your muscles when inserting. And no it’s not uncomfortable if you put it in far enough, if you don’t put it far enough you will feel it, but not pain. Just make sure to take it out after 2-8 hours. Also if your continuously bleeding through tampons don’t be afraid of super plus!
@@Tattim-sy1hb heyo I’m 13 and I put my first tampon in a it took a couple tries at first but when I got it in, it felt like nothing, and if it feels a bit uncomfortable you might have to put it in a teeny tiny bit further with your CLEAN finger very very gentle and relax and do your research hope this helps! 🤗
Ok well I use night time pads which are giant and a super plus tampon and period proof underwear 😬 I’ve leaked in public before in white jeans and I think you know how that went..🙂🤕
I was 11 when I first got my period and that was like 5 years ago. I'm a competitive dancer and most of our costumes are leotards or skin tight costumes and it's pretty hard to hide a pad. I tried a tampon and I screamed
Bro same i started dance when i was in 6th grade and got my period when i was in 7th grade. Im currently in 10th grade and i told my mom that's its so uncomfortable to dance in pads so im using tampons now.
I personally think it’s really important for every woman/teen to learn how to use a tampon you may not prefer it and that’s fine but at least know how to use one so if you have situation where there’s no other option your not totally panicking (sorry for any spelling mistakes)
Quincy S I use the size Super since I am 13 and I started using normal tampons since my first period when I was 12 and I never have to stretch or move around. I put it in and after 5 minutes I feel nothing.
I’m a dancer and ever since I was little I used pads. I’m 20 now and after years of feeling gross and uncomfortable wearing pads when I was active, I put a tampon in and honestly made such a difference. I feel so much more comfortable and confident now xx
It’s very VERY rare that the string will break off, if that somehow does happen you have to use your fingers to take it out, it won’t be really deep because your uterus will not allow it to go far in your body.
@@roro6320 don’t worry about TSS i promise it’s is SUPER rare. in fact your more likely to get struck by lightning then to get TSS. as long as you keep your tampon in for a maximum of 8 hours, you should be perfect. even if you do leave it in for a little bit more over 8 hours you still should be fine
I didn't get used to tampons until I was 25. If your afraid of losing one up there by the string coming off, use Tampax until you get used to using tampons. Tampax has the string sewn through it. I generally alternate between tampons and pads. These videos would've helped me a lot when I first started menstruating. I didn't have any women in my life to ask for advice. The wall of feminine hygiene products is intimidating for a 10 year old.
I learned about 'toxic shock syndrome' when I was in school, and have forever been scared to use tampons since. (I know it's very rare for it to happen, but it's just the thought you know?)
You can also get a TSS without using tampons (because of bad hygiene as well). They only increase the risk... Just change it every 3-4 hours, check the string before and I'm sure that nothing bad will happen 😊
Tip for tampon newbies: the Way you know your tampon is up far enough is when you can't feel it and can move freely as if it isn't even there. This goes for tampons with or without applicators. ALSO, NEVER MESS WITH THE STRING UNLESS YOU'RE TUCKING IT BACK IN TO HIDE IT. THE STRING DOESN'T GO IN YOUR (y'know) AND DON'T YOU DARE CUT IT. Replace the tampon every 4-8 hours. My first tampon horror story was that I dropped it in the toilet most likely bc I was holding it the incorrect way. I had to fish it out myself bc mom was getting groceries. -From a 14 yo, God bless you women.❤

Hi no ones probably gonna see this, but during my first period, which was around a year and half ago. I used a tampon and was not scared. It’s not scary and only scary when you psych yourself out. But just kind of play around with it and find what angle works for you. And if you can’t find an angle it ok. Tbh the first 5-8 times you use a tampon aren’t gonna be the best. It’s gonna be to low, to high or weird angle. Around your 13-14th tampon you start to learn yourself and eventually you will get enough experience with what your body is comfortable with and how to work a tampon. Around your second box of tampons you will very seasoned/experienced and you won’t be scared. If you don’t like tampons that’s cool too just whatever your comfy with :)
You might want to consider trying a menstrual cup, it's so much better than tampons. Simply made of sylicon, it will last you 10 years; absolutely safe, confortable and easy to use. It was such a game changer to me, I haven't bought a single pad or tampon in the last 4 years 😍 Also, it's super sustainable.

Carson.Cristine. Well I don’t wanna learn. I’m too scared bro. Putting on a pad is way easier and u don’t need practice
I've never even worn a tampon longer thay like 3 hours. I cant imagine wearing one for 8 hours. And I cant wear a pad longer than like 2 hours
BetterToSleep bruh tampons are way easier jus learn how to use one bc it is a life saver and they are wayyyyy more comfortable to wear than pads
Carson.Cristine. You shouldn’t be able to feel it at all; to the point where you forget that it’s even there
Carson.Cristine. what grip what do u mean by grip
I just tried the tampon, I didn’t put it in far enough, it hurt coming out.
I’m gonna go cry with my pads now🙂
I tried one but it was uncomfortable, I think I didn’t put it far enouh snd it hurt, but I want to go swimming during it 🥺
@@Nahhhhhhhhhhh328 ugh SAAAMEEE. I wanted to try menstrual cups, but they are so expensive
That was me 🙃 and still is… bruhh I’ll try again tomorrow
There’s also the possibility of a hymen abnormality.
thank you for this!! I am extremely anxious person and was just determined to get it in there and I think I was just stressed and wasn’t able to. This made me realize!
I’m too nervous to even use a tampon
Lauryn White yea get it i just tought fuck itand its heaven
it's perfectly fine 😂 once it's in you can't feel it at all 👍🏾 and think about it when you wear pads you're sitting in your own nastiness 🤢🤢 I recommend using the applicator type
People wouldn’t sell it
Btw. Tampons hemmen bzw. stoppen den Bakterienwachstum und die Toxinproduktion.
Me too because (for me) its like intercoursing

So you sleep with tampons?
I didn't get used to tampons until I was 25. If your afraid of losing one up there by the string coming off, use Tampax until you get used to using tampons. Tampax has the string sewn through it. I generally alternate between tampons and pads. These videos would've helped me a lot when I first started menstruating. I didn't have any women in my life to ask for advice. The wall of feminine hygiene products is intimidating for a 10 year old.
I first got my period at age 9-13 I forgot exactly at what age I got my period at LOL! but I think I was 13
I learned about 'toxic shock syndrome' when I was in school, and have forever been scared to use tampons since. (I know it's very rare for it to happen, but it's just the thought you know?)
You can also get a TSS without using tampons (because of bad hygiene as well). They only increase the risk... Just change it every 3-4 hours, check the string before and I'm sure that nothing bad will happen 😊
TSS is a risk when you leave it in too long, not just using it in general. So as long as your safe, you will be safe
Same :'))). Like you have to change it every 3-4 hours apparently and I zone out longer than that
Ik, im sticking with pads lol
Yeah lol it's just a misconception, you only get tss if you keep it in for too long
Tip for tampon newbies: the Way you know your tampon is up far enough is when you can't feel it and can move freely as if it isn't even there.

Leslie Ramirez righhhhttt ???? Everyone is making such a big deal out of it like: “ What if it gets stuck? What if I get tss ? It hurts so much that I fainted. It hurt so bad that it puked.” Like stoooop when I tried tampons I just stuck it up there in it was easy as heck . They aren’t even trying . I hate pads because I hate the feeling of sitting on my blood and they’re uncomfortable.
I started using them when i was about 13 1/2, after I had my period for about half a year.
Just like a period. You get used to them and begin to understand yourself. Thanks!!
I love tampons, and yes at my second box I felt better/comfortable.
You might want to consider trying a menstrual cup, it's so much better than tampons. Simply made of sylicon, it will last you 10 years; absolutely safe, confortable and easy to use.
