Latest map of Vehicular Sorrow! i.imgur.com/ppCPQFv.png The next car to run shall be the 50th, so it gotta be special! :D Again, this took a little longer than usual because things needed rearranging... As the map gets more crowded, development wont get any faster, sadly :c
EvilMcSheep I call for a retry on the last truck in the episode. There was debris under the truck which stopped it from moving. Under the front of the truck was parts of the cab that had fallen off and stuck under the back wheels were other fallen off bits. He said he would remove debris from under the vehicles. He just gave up on it.
Nous Resterons La I agree that it was called too early and was saveable, but at least it adds consistency, since other cars also have suffered damage fixable via node grabber (such as bent wheels, which the car could have benefited from having torn off), but never got the treatment. Zennon Krebsbach I know that zooming in really isn't much of an issue, no matter the browser or device, but I'd prefer to keep it all readable from a full screen view, to keep the viewing as effortless as possible, most viewers are likely to be here for relaxation and as horribly lazy as that might sound, having to keep clicking the mouse around to get a good look really takes away from the experience.
The gauge was working, but sometimes oil goes first. I had a rally car without a oil cooler and the oil over heated, chucked one on and the oil was fine. So yeah, it was working how it should Alex. :)
So happy to see my car make it into the top ten! A souped-up pace car version of it, granted, but it's still cool to see it go as far as it did. However, as the proud owner of a 1983 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency Brougham, I feel like I must clarify something: "Regency" is not the model name for the car, "Ninety-Eight" is, whereas "Regency" or "Regency Brougham" is a luxury trim level for the Ninety-Eight. The name makes sense if you think about Oldsmobile's model name nomenclature: 88 and 98, the Delta 88 is a sort of mid-range model that acts kinda like a slightly fancier Chevrolet Caprice, and the Ninety-Eight acts as Oldsmobile's top-tier luxury model. The Ninety-Eight is one of those cars I like to call "casual Cadillacs" because it's got all the comfort and classiness of a Cadillac. It's just missing the brand-specific styling, the prestige of the Cadillac name, and one cigarette lighter (Oldsmobiles at the time had three lighters and ashtrays, whereas Cadillacs had four). It's a lovely car. A good, old-fashioned land yacht with its immense size, spacious interior and trunk, comfy velour bench seats and wobble-matic suspension. You can smack-talk soft, wobbly suspensions all you want, but the fact of the matter is that they make for very comfortable cars with smooth rides, provided you don't drive like an orangutan (which is probably why Jeremy Clarkson will never appreciate cars like this). xD
Deadpan_Studios I have a 1967 Ford galaxie and I just got my driver's license and shes my daily driver got her for $100 and I'm $50 into her and she's perfect it ain't no hotrod but it gets up and moves and it gets me from point a to point b it's got 60,000 original miles on it and it's a 4 door which is good because I plan to keep it for as long as I can so I'll probably drive my future wife and kids around in it it's got bench seats and it's like driving a boat good day
The temperature gauge on the first car wasn't broken. You might notice you never got a "coolant overheating" message. You just somehow managed to damage the radiator in such a way to overheat the oil and nothing else.
What sort of a reply is that? My take is the game glitched because I'm not sure you can break a car in the manner you are suggesting. The purpose of coolant is to stop the engine temp making it that high and I don't believe oil leaks are in the game yet, so...
My take is that the car simply was not designed for this kind of load, and had no separate oil cooler. (Which would've been fine under the normal loads the car undergoes, since the oil just gives the heat to the engine, and the engine gives it to the coolant) I think it would overheat regardless of the radiator damage
The oil cooler was probably part of the radiator. My guess is he snapped an oil line and nothing else. So not only was the oil getting hot, he was also getting less and less of it. That happens more often than you'd think. Radiators are often multi-purpose. Other examples are transmission cooler in the radiator, oil cooler in the A/C condenser, power steering cooler in the oil cooler, things like that. I dunno how detailed BeamNG goes into that, but that is something a car of that vintage would likely have.
The game already tells you what has reached critical temps at what point, the scientific gain doesn't anywhere near outweigh the loss in entertainment. Oh, and it would clutter the screen :/
Maybe the best episode of the series. Personally, I had the most fun during this one, mainly due to the crabby clolured Pessima. What a vehicle... And then again, will we ever see a utlility truck eat its cabin in such spectacular way? gg 10/10
I have that truck, but didn´t got it from the official site, and if I am not mistaken that truck have like 16 gears ! And the truck got exhaust stuck under the front axle and that prevented it from moving. If you were removed that it probably would kept going. And also there is a trailer for the truck.
Naaah, just did not saw your comment, I haven't fully watched this episode last time ^^ I'm very please with how everyone is super happy with this...Thing, it's really crappy, but was my first proper mod! It's nothing special, i'm sure a lot of people could do it, but i'm not going to complain! I'm on the Beamng forum and community for a long time, and I felt like I was useless !
Often times, an interesting low-effort idea will be much better than a high-effort boring one! If that makes you feel any better, you sure as hell were a lot less useless than I am! All I have been doing since late 2013 is lurking and occasionally upvoting a post that I like, barely ever adding anything myself
hang on, I thought that you could remove bodywork if it had gotten stuck. the truck had its bodywork stuck. therefore, the truck should have another run to be fair.
It seems to me that the bodywork of the truck was almost clipping into the ground, which meant that the truck was getting anchored to the ground rather than simply having the front wheel lock up. It seems odd for the truck to lurch like that if it was just the wheel, as there was plenty of power elsewhere. That aside, though, great episode as always. Looking forward to the next one.
Now that you've done the 8x8 Utility, it'd be pretty cool to see the 8x8 Cab chassis go around the course. It's the grey one without any cargo on the back and an exocage over the cab in the presets. I think it'd be perfect for the course and I'm curious as to how far it'll go. Thanks for another great video, Alex!
There's the problem with total diff lock, if one wheel gets stuck then none of them move. If you had cracked the axle on the wheel that ate the cab you probably could have continued. The coolant determines the piston rings and the head gasket, the oil determines the con-rods. While oil and coolant temps are normally linked, you can have one heat up without the other doing so, and the temp gauge is only monitoring coolant.
Breintl hannes sorry for spoiling your dreams but maybe you can do it or are you like me and have no gaming computer or no computer at all and don't have beamng....
Alex actually Listened to my comment! I asked if he would do the Olds (Regency) 98 and he did! OR it was just a complete coincidence and I'm just making myself look like an idiot. Either way, Great Video!
you can turn up the strength of the node grabber by scrolling with the mouse wheel , you probably could have pulled the cab off the frame with %100 strength
I see what you did there :D I'd put that name onto the map, but I fear for the health and safety of the public, the pun concentration is flatout hazardous!
I think when you are drifting the sideways in the Pessima the drag from the ground caused the rear tires to steer in the path of least resistance. The rear wheels go into opposite lock like the front. Porsche does that with their computer controlled AWS. It turns to the opposite angle of the front at low speeds for better cornering. It mimics the angle at high speeds for better stability. Crab walk. I think it would be hard to see here since the wheels still bounce up and down.
It seems, from the amount of suggestions, that the Half Pessima might be vehicle number 50. I suggest that the Annihilator Dragster and Hell Jeep should accompany it.
The reason why sometimes the engine doesn't heat up after the radiator is damaged is because after the initial damage every subsequent hit it leaks faster
Yeah radiator damage is dynamic, so you could gently tap against a wall and it barely leak, but then over time additional impacts will worsen its effect
Since the truck was done in by the cab getting ensnared, I wonder how a bare chassis of this would fare? Sure, there would be less things in front to cushion impacts, but it would also be a lot lighter
Nothing else has gotten a retry, no matter how stupid the death was. It would be unfair for the 8X8 to be an exception, unless he does a different configuration as a separate entry

bwahahaha rectangle of shame XD poor cement truck! it carried such a heavy burden! XD
It should have lost some weight before participating, not my fault that it's diet is bad!
Hilux, eh?
... naw, that would just be pure cheating :D

Add the engine debug ui app for next time. It shows you what is broken on the engine very detailed and how much coolant is left
It's too much of a spoiler for long the engine will last, having some sense of mystery is always good for increasing tension.
EvilMcSheep but i thought this was about testing out the vehicles, you know, knowing what happened is the point of testing.
The game already tells you what has reached critical temps at what point, the scientific gain doesn't anywhere near outweigh the loss in entertainment.
Oh, and it would clutter the screen :/
26:42 The first time in the series, that he hit one of the barriers!
Pessima's back wheels be like: "WERE NEVER LETTING GO!!!!"
Suggestions:
Pigeon Stig
DW Rock Bouncer
Hell Jeep
Please do the half pessima
YES!
And do it James May "Alfab" limo style.

Everyone's asking for the half Pessima...
I'll have to join in, it would be perfect as car #50! :D

Hehe, waited to see it in the episode before commenting, eh? :D

He tried but its fully ensared
I still tell you, just must try 200BX without struts. Its so much fun and will surprise you :)
Beam does have dynamic radiator damage. There's a debug app that shows the coolant leak rate and the damage level.
Lol, that disintegrating cab has got to be one of the most spectacular ways to go.

That'd be nothing short of beautiful!
Holy crap that 8x8 has some nodes to it.
Wobblematic Suspension ®
BeamNG Drive Driven Till Destruction love to see a big rig and trailer, a forklift or a shopping cart.

I love that as the Regency broke it got better at driving.
This truck, with removed cab will set a record overall
Please take the belaz around the course next time.
Breintl hannes it won't have any damage really done and it's too slow and too big
Jerrymations ! yeah, you`re right.
I just thought that it could be interesting at some places.

The Failrace drift academy
Best drift car ever, eat your heart out all Silvias, 86's, other popular drift cars lmao =')

I prefer the flappasema
Oh wow! Someone actually made the real-life counterpart to the Delta 88.
Koji Gaming I'm TRIGGERED
Alex actually Listened to my comment! I asked if he would do the Olds (Regency) 98 and he did! OR it was just a complete coincidence and I'm just making myself look like an idiot. Either way, Great Video!
9:16 your steam messages tricked me. I thought they were mine. Lol
if there is a VW Beetle in the game send that around, Vee Dubs love this!
Do the BTR-80. Its chassis may be almost indestructible, but the wheels and suspension may not.
dexter1981 Really? In my testing, i have not been able to break it.
I love this series, you should so an episode of cars you think best fit for this track. I want to see how they perform
I was screaming internally when you never reversed the truck to see if that helped! Ahhhhh!
Flappy wheels, the chugalong
I think it's time this series got an old school air-cooled engine! Take that, radiator springs.
I'm guesing that it wouldn't be able to drive BTR 80 or ETK 6000 series, maybe DW rock bouncer still works or just Burnside race car ?
you can turn up the strength of the node grabber by scrolling with the mouse wheel , you probably could have pulled the cab off the frame with %100 strength
you need to hold down the arrow not just press it but awesome video love your content
Excellent video, Alex. Thanks!
You should call the truck the hungry hungry caterpillar. It has many legs or wheels and it looks similar to a caterpillar
The half a Pessima mod should go!
Probably would suck but how bad would a T-Series with any trailer do (If It can even haul anything up a hill)?
Suggestions List:
A limo
A 4-Wheel Pigeon
The APC
The one rear axle T-Series
that pessima should be called chuck norris 😂😂
I see what you did there :D
I'd put that name onto the map, but I fear for the health and safety of the public, the pun concentration is flatout hazardous!
EvilMcSheep pmsl yeah. the jumps should be called that as it they are a killer!!
This is like the 10th time in this series you've mentioned soft suspension is better
WE GET IT >D
i love this series

I have an interesting idea for Driven Till Destruction: not sure if you can do this, but try a stupidly powerful FWD car with no rear tires!
I want to see the Burnside hovercar take on the course!
Remember the Jet Covet from the old Downhill Chaos series? Because that can only end well here.
There is an "indestructible" version of the 200BX. Radiator and engine damage wouldn't be an issue, but the suspension can still get damaged.
More Beam NG. Drive videos please! Maybe something similar to the canyon rally?
Hello!
Ulrich D. And welcome to the show!
hello then...
we are back on the bajarama circuit
It seems, from the amount of suggestions, that the Half Pessima might be vehicle number 50. I suggest that the Annihilator Dragster and Hell Jeep should accompany it.
At 16:14 : It was Jean Ragnotti's style !

Yeah radiator damage is dynamic, so you could gently tap against a wall and it barely leak, but then over time additional impacts will worsen its effect
You should try the truck again with the exocage installed
fun fact! the oldsmobile's fuel cap is under the licence plate!
That car looked like when lightning McQueen when it's wheels kept on going crazy
DOS MINUTOS! I'll consider that early.
i wonder how long a Prius would survive?
99+ laps
I love watching these cars get driven to death my favourite vehicle is the pessima because it always breaks in spectacular ways
why not pulling away the mangled cabin parts that were stuck on the wheels?
Since the truck was done in by the cab getting ensnared, I wonder how a bare chassis of this would fare? Sure, there would be less things in front to cushion impacts, but it would also be a lot lighter
nice oldsmobile but it lacks woodgrain on the side
Who else was just watching the floppy lights the whole time?
the gamer Me XD
"Wobblematic suspension" Pretty sure my Dart has that
I am amazed that that truck was still driveable, but let's be honest, if the cabin does that, the driver's probably dead.
I'm high as fuck and this shit got me crying from laughing at the fwd drift machine!
I really demand a retry on the 8x8!
Nothing else has gotten a retry, no matter how stupid the death was.
It would be unfair for the 8X8 to be an exception, unless he does a different configuration as a separate entry
Jelly drifter for the pesima?
Pls try the 8x8 utility with a trailer
Fr16/f1 car rally spec next plss!
You should download that car crusher mod, and after each car breaks, teleport the damaged car into it and give it a send-off
The base game has a crusher too, it turns cars into nice little cubes :D
WOODY OF DOOM!!!!!!!!
Oh wait wrong series
How about the off road version of the 8X8 truck?
Does this game have a Volkswagon Bug?
If it does I would love to see how it survives on this course!
Bring Back canyon rally😤
do the half car please :)
For the 25th episode special, you should do this in RoR
The Oldsmobile's rear lights did not want to fall off
do the Satsuma next
I would call it Ken block's daily
Best episode! :D
Why was the clutch showing 100% most of the time?
I wonder if beam has air brake failure. That could have been why the big box truck kept stopping.
Could you try doing the monster truck on the course?
try the half pessima :)
rip that Scania's cabin
There is an app where you can see the complete engine temperature and also the amount of cooling fluid!
Self Sealing Radiator
Hello old chap
use the bronco!
