- There were some questions about my DIY Box for the Lumenradio Stardust on the @blackoutapp Facebook User Group, so I figured this video might be interesting to some of you guys.
List of parts:
Stardust: lumenradio.com...
Router: www.tp-link.co...
Node: www.thomann.de...
Base Plate: www.kuposhop.c...
Behringer X-Touch: www.behringer....

I hope this gives you some ideas for your own CRMX Lighting Control System -
happy building!

EDIT:
The CRMX of course has a very efficient frequency hopping on 2.4GHz - however, I fould the WiFi connection to drastically increase after switching to 5GHz - also because lots of devices still run on 2.4GHz frequencies..
BUT - as 5GHz (or even 6GHz) becomes more popular, it also gets more crowded and therefore more vulnerable to interference.
Just to clarify - CRMX mostly doesn't suffer too much in dense 2.4GHz areas in my experience.
You've got some fun toys. thanks for sharing your setup.
I hope you find the drive to film some more of the nerdy stuff.
Please tell me the product name of the small field fader. 3

What do you have for external antennas, are they waterproof? And the cables between the Stardust and the external antennas, where can I buy them?
I just used the ones the Stardust and the router had. I'm not sure if they're really waterproof, but I had the box in some light drizzle outside and nothing happened.
The extensions for the antennas are R-TNC cables (you have to be careful there, the pins on normal TNC cables are the wrong way around!)
They are a bit hard to find, but you can order them locally or I believe Amazon or Aliexpress offer some of them.
@@RaphaelWerner Thank you for the answer, I ordered the a Stardust from Thomann last week, so I hope I get it this week. And thanks for the heads up with the R-TNC cables. You have a really nice setup! And I have a question about your X-Touch, does Blackout talk back with Midi so the motorized fader moves with the fader in the app?
@@peter_ovgardNice, great choice on the Stardust!
Blackout does have „Talkback“ to the Faders - if you move them on the iPad, they move on the X-Touch as well. You might also consider the X-Touch Compact, which is a lot smaller.
Ian Peterson made several videos with it and it looks great!
