Personally, I think that Bachmann make the best model locomotives these days!! They make great, highly detailed models rather than items like the Railroad range from Hornby.

Hi guys, another great video. I liked the CO BO at the start of the video. There was some cracking stuff for sale there. As for the Metro, I gave a real one to my mate for nothing. He gave it me back a week later, they were crud. Really enjoyed the video guys. All the best. Carl.

Hi Rick & Pauline, at 6:15 in the video you showed that American loco, that's the only American loco I got in my collection, together with a full rake of NY central silver liner coaches, but from Rivarossi before it became part of the Hornby group.
The silver coaches are a realistic, but if you want a set like they ran when lunched, the coaches have the same color scheme and lining as the tender, a bit like the blue and red coronation scot coaches.
I never wanted to buy American locos, but that one is such a beautiful loco, it's also called the mohican due to the spit that goes over the boiler, so this one was bought for the love of the design.
And finely you got the fish van wagon, tip open the roof, put a small piece of fish in it, and after a day you get the full experience😜🤣🤣🤣
Great video again, always a very good start of my Sunday…
    Cheers,
    Danny

great video ! and very interesting to see how easily a family, who want to start a layout for the kids, can find lots of engines and rolling stock at soooooo low prices. Maybe they would sell more if they put together some sets, using the items from the lowest price range. So much easier for newcomers who find it hard to choose....thanks !

Hello Pauline and Rick, Pauline your voice when you saw the blue Pullman, ooh that’s nice! Also guy you missed the McDonald’s wagon on the same stall. The Triang smoking car was part of the Davey Crockett train set! Also I had the R159 diesel as part of my first train set. The Blue Lima diesel is a D.B. Loco model.
How about a Bobby update? Harry

You should build a budget layout to show people what's achievable with second hand stuff. Maybe a shunting layout for under £100, track, controller, loco, wagons a building and some scenery. Maybe ask veiwers to pick a theme, salt, fish, oil, milk, mail. I'd be really interested to see that myself. Something different to the endless reviews of brand new stuff most of us can't afford.

@wellchuffedrailways There isn't any channel more suited to it than Well Chuffed Railways and I thought it would be a nice way to engage viewers as well as promoting the traders the shows and the hobby. My suggestion would be a shunting layout, maybe n scale for those limited on space as well as budget, and the theme would be like a morning routine, start with a soap wagon then a cereal wagon milk wagon coffee wagon bread wagon a crisps wagon etc. I love watching you guys going through the boxes of stuff at shows, it's great for showing the hobby is still accessible 👍.

3:18 There is a lot more cheap small locomotives for the UK market... Continental ones usually have too complicated valvegear (as most of them have outside valvegear)
5:22 That becomes annoying quite quickly, they react on direction changes and a random timer
6:16 That's a real premium model (part brass)
7:35 These are designed for the USA market where you need a lot more tractive effort (hence the weight)
8:20 Schicht was part of the VEB Piko conglomerate. These cars are part of the late 1950s / early 1960s attempt to beat the 'capitalist' manufacturers in detailing (imagine that most model trains were either crude plastic or tinplate). Depending on age they may have real glass windows
11:31 Lima FS 342 painted to resemble one of the E10 prototypes. This is NOT a repaint job...
14:37 Those HO Class 33s go for higher prices if in the original HEMA boxes over here

It actually popped up as 1-MR vid, after watching a 'rislone' product vid. :-)
Was there any G-gauge, or just smaller ?
Although the carousel "Ride For all Ages", did look about the right size' to fit within the correct additional theme, within a G-gauge railway empire'. ;-)
