programs have different names for version control despite the bulk of them running just fine (same posix compliant kernel) after compiling locally because the linker/ system paths/cmake file are mildly different for bsd and otherwise all binaries would need to be made system agnostic or face annoying each userbase, which BSD won’t win that fight over who gets priority, so BSD gets stuck with the separate install script much like what happens when something is originally built for Windows and gets extremely asymmetrical support. I installed RL 9.2 in place of CentOS 7 on a wiped server. CentOS is a server OP, and RL feels like a desktop OP. The RL installation routine flexibility is wonderful. You can modify RL to be more CLI like, though. Oracle's VirtualBox 7 is very easy to install on CentOS, but not so on RL 9.2. Oracle servers don't handshake well in terms of downloading final program files. RL is an interesting new OP.
