I had the same challenges with contractors in Zimbabwe they don’t take their words seriously. They sweet up people forgetting that they want to build another house on the next stand.
What a beautiful house! Congratulations to the Kanyongos. I’m sorry to hear about their experience with the contractors. Our people in Zimbabwe seriously need to learn about integrity, professionalism, and accountability. This has to start right from the top. Without such qualities we will never prosper as a nation.
For all of us in the Diaspora whether from Africa, Caribbean or South America, the most challenging part of building at home is finding trustworthy personnel. It's not that we don't want to return. I personally know so many people who got swindled. There's a story of a UK-based Jamaican lady who built her retirement home in Jamaica and when she arrived in Jamaica, she learned that her name was not on the title or deed, but her daughter and her daughter's boyfriend (not husband) owned the land and the house. The poor woman had a nervous breakdown. So it is great when people are able to build their retirement homes with trustworthy people.

This is so beautiful Kelvin 🔥🔥, Im continuously motivated whenever I watch your videos ... Thank you so much for showing us this side of Zimbabwe, our country is so beautiful
The house is coming out nice completely, showing its beauty. The contractors in Zim are not honest at all. I also encountered a challenge with Zim contractors when l was building back home.
Big mistake on; 1. Put the kitchen when the builders are still in. 2. Same with sanitary ware. 3. Same with tiling. 4. Too many big windows the house will get hot in summer
so the foregners in capetown wat do u call them nd that house is for zimbabweans dont bring ur negative energy here learn to be happy for others u lose nothing
We have income generating real estate investments in the Caribbean so in Zimbabwe we decided to build something of our dream. In this highly inflationary environment in Zimbabwe there is little disposable income compared to touristic destinations of the Caribbean which give high ROI.
We would disagree with you. A house can be an investment. This all depends on how you manage it and how your bank account looks like. If you look at life in 2 dimensions as you do, then no.

Never build a house in Zimbabwe when you are not present
The house is good but that's not investing
