Welcome to my vlog channel and thank you so much for watching! I've been wanting to grow herbs inside the house and finally did it!
Jun, the shelf is really beautiful! And the kitties are the cutest 😍
The planter is really beautiful, and you and Rachel are so lucky to have a nice house with a lot of natural light! It was so cute to see the cats interested in the building project! Great work!!
Good luck with journey
❤
You must be so happy with the design of this new kitchen 👍😆
It's so funny watching Haku ride you like a jockey whilst biting your hair 😂
Rocket is very popular in Australia in burgers, pasta & salads...
that slide by nagi at 3:24 was clean
The most epic Nagi slide ever, ua-cam.com/video/19ybEgFGXko/v-deo.html !!!
he likes that Old Time Rock and Roll
He had been nibbling on catnip a few minutes ago
Nani!?
KANSEI DORIFTO!?!?!?
@@P-Mouse I almost made the same joke. xD
I love how Haku always asks for a kittyback ride. It's becoming a tradition.
It truly is so adorable how despite getting a bigger kitchen so you could stand taller, you still end up slouching over anyway for Haku
The height of the ceiling has allowed Haku to achieve *his* dream of becoming the ultimate shoulder cat.
I love how you try to do things with your cats hanging off of you. It’s the cutest thing!
Lol. I doubt that Jun has a choice 🥰 and besides, he'd be lost without them! 😉🤣‼
my cat does this too !! its overwhelming but so cute at the same time
Haku is a daddy's boii. He's so adorable 🥰
Looks cute but my weak back hurts just by watching 🤣
6:55 Haku not having it with Jun not giving him kitten drugs is so cute 😂
you can call those salad leaves rocket! it’s just british english. in american english we say arugula :)
I learned something new! Thank you! ^^
The edible flower is called Nasturtium (Tropaeolum), it’s my favourite edible flower ^-^
@@cloudGremlin It's lovely. Will spread everywhere if you have it in the garden, though. You can also pickle the seeds like capers (I actually think they taste better, to be honest).
That's so interesting because in Canada we call it (FR) Roquette / (ENG) Rocket as well!
@@cloudGremlin - nasturtium leaves are also edible.
I like how Poki and Nagi's job is to inspect everything, and Haku's job is to adore you.
Nagi with the dynamic entrance!!!@3:25
i love how you use the kitties for weight testing XD
Jun is gonna have back problems if Haku keeps getting on his back lol, but still so cute Haku wants a train ride on Jun 😭❤️
It would be worth it.
Ah the cats are the stars as always! Especially loved the clip of Nagi slip-sliding along the kitchen floor at 3:25
Nagi is being the good boy and sliding like an ice skater!
Your laughing and speech pattern really reminds me of Rachel. You two are the cutest couple ever!!
"Welcome back to another episode of the cat carpenter where we try to perform carpentry around curious cats."
Edible flower, Nasturtium! Your kitties love you so much, it's great
I think the baby leaf is called Rocket or Arugula, we call it Rucola here as well, which I think works in english as well as swedish. Popular to blend with baby spinach and other lettuce for salads. :D Lovely project, it's nice seeing you comfortable with the camera like this, Jun!
Happy first Advent from Sweden.
I think "Rocket" is the British English term and "Arugula" is the North American term. Also, those edible flowers may have been Nasturtiums
Yes, "arugula" in the US and Canada, or "rocket" in the UK and other Engligh-speaking countries. Peppery and slightly bitter, nice in a salad or on top of pizza. The flowers are definitely Nasturtium, and the leaves AND flowers of that plant are both edible.
Rucola! Finally it all makes sense to me! Signed, a fellow European who only knows the term rucola😆

ご視聴ありがとうございます!^^
You're my cat's favourite youtuber! He's usually pretty uninterested in my computer but he comes to sit on my lap and watches your videos with me when I put them on and pays really close attention, he's a big fan!
Dear gents and lads, by the miracle that is you tube we have gathered once again to watch the cats enjoying their home with some hoomans
Has Nagi been watching "Risky Business" starring a young Tom Cruise? All Nagi needed was Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock-n-Roll playing in the background and his slide wins!
I love that you greet the cats with "Hi, baby!" lol! The plant stand looks really great. I wonder how do you ensure the plants don't get bugs? That's the one thing holding me back from getting real plants.
Soaking my plants from the bottom once a week works wonders for me. Havent had gnats in years
Poki trying to bite your finger is just the kind of thing my tuxedo, Pepper, does as well.
Your videos make me SO happy! You, Rachel and the cats. Thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️THE CATS!!! 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have NEVER been this early! I love watching your stuff, even if I'm a first-time commenter. You always exude such calm, and you both have such cool ideas that I always want to implement into my own home.
First off, that shelf looks fantastic! Second - and this might be weird, excuse me if it is - but that dark brown front door looks so good! I'm just constantly impressed by how pleasing to the eye your design choices are. :)
the edible rounded leaves are nasturtiums, and i believe the other one is arugula :)
I love that Rachel's present, inspired you to make a DIY shelf of your own. Of course, the cats approve! It looks wonderful.
Just a suggestion, if you consider upgrades in the future. Those plastic pots you drilled holes into, can be used as a cover pot. Meaning, if you don't drill into them next time, they will collect any water, from the plastic pots you place on the inside, with drainage holes. The reason this is a useful arrangement is, you can have a small greenhouse outside, growing more herbs.
After removing most of leaves from the inside herbs, you can swap them out of the cover pot, with new herbs growing outside. It's easy to do when you have a plastic pot inside a cover pot. That way, the herbs moved to the greenhouse can regrow their leaves, and the ones placed inside, can have their leaves removed.
It means you will have two lots of plants to manage - inside and outside, but it also means you get a continuous supply of herbs for the kitchen, for longer. I learned this strategy keeping indoors plants. By having two plants - one outside and one inside, so you can swap them out of the cover-pot, to rejuvenate outside again. That way, you never have an empty space in your house, when the plants either die, or need some temporary outside time to thrive.
Can't wait for Pichi to become brave enough to join the boys!
You're home is becoming more and more beautiful.
Sweet Haku cuddling the back of your head is too cute!
Gracias.✨️
Haku makes this project more challenged. That is soo funny 🤣🤣😅😅❤❤
I have two quite young cats now and they love to play with each other! Chicken (the younger of the two) has realised that he can make Possum play even more if he makes silly meow-wailing noises! They are so cute! Growing up I had many cats but they were never as good friends as these two are! For the first year I kept them separate though. Possum was feral when she came to me and was quite timid. She is very bold and happy now though.
Haku is all hugs.😂
hehe I love how you/the Japanese pronounce ikea, it's v similar to how it sounds in all the Scandinavian languages! :')
Celery herb seems to be a bit rare in some countries, it looks just like flat leaf parsley but tastes different. I love it for vegetable soup and on chicken. It's a source for umami. We have an Indo dish that used a ton of it fresh with tofu and a peanut and soy sauce.
The edible flowers are Nasturtiums! Very good plant for the outdoor vegetable garden, too
the little "cats !" sign at their door to remind them to watch out for the cats to not run out is so funny and cute.
The way Haku rubs into your hair is so adorable. Love the look of the herb stand. Makes me wanna finally tackle the "grow your own herbs" project. Thanks for the inspiration and the relaxing video.
For stability, consider grabbing an OBSERVATÖR cross brace from IKEA. Otherwise, it's weak to folding over sideways.
As with any tall free-standing ladder-like shelf, you might also want to strap it to a wall to prevent e.g. an ambitious cat from toppling it.
I love seeing you guys DIY stuff. I don't DIY myself but it makes me want to try.
I could never keep herbs alive ever - now I found out that artificial light for plants is a thing!
They come in varieties that are actually pleasant to the human eye. All of the plants that got one are so, so, so much more happy now.
FINALLY! thank you so much for posting, missed this :')
Besides Ikea, Gardener’s Supply (in the state of Vermont) has great wooden planters for those in America. They are pricey but really designed for those that want the DIY look but don’t want to make the effort.
Rachel and your diy projects are getting so good. That shelf is so pretty!
I’m waiting right now for the ads to play on your UA-cam video, but I’m so excited to watch this!!! Can’t wait to see your DIYs, both you and Rachel have been really inspiring!!! Love all the natural wood choices :)))
Ah, what a perfect video for a relaxing Sunday 😊💖
Looks great! Letting the cats help you,is fun.
Thanks for sharing this.
the round leaf one is nasturtium, it is one of my favourite edible flowers. The flower can be a little sweet and peppery and the leaves are also very peppery. I used to grow them all the time when I had a yard, but haven't had much luck since I moved to an apartment with north facing windows.
I adore the fact you're using the cats to check the stability of your creations C:
The edible plant with the big round leaves is nasturtium! The blooms are edible too, and there are climbing varieties! I grow those in my garden, very much a fan of their look and low need for maintenance.
FINALLY!!!! THE CONTENT I HAVE LONGED FOR! Thank you for the update Jun :)
i liked the bits where you said something in Japanese, it’s cool how you pronounce things!
My grandpa's name was Yoshizuki and my first dog's name was Haku. Maybe the resemblance is reason why it gives me so much joy seeing Jun doing well with his huge cat :)))
I love gardening but I don't have a balcony and my apartment is tiny and it's hard for me to go outside and dig on my knees etc etc. Anyways, I end up putting all my plants in windowsills or on my big bookshelf so my cats don't touch them :') I love taking care of plants so much especially when I can clean them up and move pots etc. Just getting my hands in the dirt and seeing all the colours is so refreshing.
6:30 It's a stick! 😂 Haku doesn't care if it's big or small, a stick will always be his favorite!
Poki mordiendo dedos, Nagi derrapando en el piso y Haku en las espaldas de Jun es demasiada ternura para un vídeo, los gatihijos siempre al pendiente de lo que su papá hace ❤️😍.
4:58 No bully Jun, Haku!
Seriously though, this was the cutest booli scene ever!
I want to make exactly the same herb stand when it is possible. It seems like a simple diy project.
Nice job. Live how the cats help out no matter the project.
2:57 - ideal distribution 🤣💋 3:56 - dramatic arrival 🤦♀️🥰‼ 5:02- Haku: "Dad, 1/8 cm to the left!"
Hey Jun, I think the Celery like leaves might be Lovage
I would love a video where you give gardening tips and tricks
Thank you so much for a video today 🙏
Haku on your back was hilarious, but also looked painful. The things we do for our kitties! The shelves look great.
I had some fresh sage growing in my kitchen and my cat kept laying on it and eating it.
The Rocket or Roquette is Arugula in English I believe. It looks like it.
Glad the DIY herb shelf project turned out well so far (if more add-ons or modifications are planned)
It's always so relaxing and warm to watch your videos on all your channels. Thank you for the mental respite in our crazy world. 😎👍
Erbs 😆 H took a oliday lol Cute stuff though, I love home herb gardens! I've been thinking of creating self sustaining aquaphonics
3:25 Nagi: Deja Vu!
About 4 minutes in and I had to pause and check the title again, because for a moment there I thought the cats’ antics convinced Jun that he should switch gears and make another cat tower. 😂
The edible flower plant with the round leaves is nasturtium. It’s leaves are also good in salads and pesto!
I'm fascinated how your cats are not spooked by the noise. When I unpack my makita, my cats flee like hell incarnate is coming for them 😂
heard that you moved, and I love your new places has a lot and bigger window! all the sun is in and putting a lot of herbs and veggies makes it more beautiful and useful :)
It's such a nice herb stand. You inspire me with your projects to start projects myself too. Also, How is the fish tank now?
Nagi the slide master while Haku the but snifer, like always. also, Poki the yeller
What an excellent cat tower you made :P
At 5:00 is Haku trying to control what you are doing by pulling on your hair? 😄
i have such a tiny apartment so may need to make myself one of these for my spring herbs soon. so cool!
Fun stuff
Kitties are soooooo helpful during diy
Loved it 😍
So adorable!! 😊😊
Nagi is the prettiest kitty!! ❤
Hi there Jun.
Just to say that I love watching your channel and in case that no one else has mention it already the edible flower you are pointing after rocket is 'nasturtium' and it's all edible. Flowers and leaves. They add a great peppery flavor to any salad.
Thank you again for the great videos. "G"
I also grow my own catnip for my cats! The main plant is outside, protected by a birdcage I got off the side of the road. I harvest sprigs periodically and dry them, then either give them to the cats or make them into cat toys.
I agree with Jun: fresh herbs yum!
therapy? no. rachel and jun? yes.
I’m glad you guys are enjoying gardening ❤
It is a fabulous project Jun🌲🌲🌲🐈⬛Jun it is heartwarming to see how your cats love you & engage so much. When my cat hears your voice now he seems to realize that your cats will be on my computer screen and amazing as he doesn't observe very often unless animals on the screen (he is 13).so nice to see your climate...we are covered in snow here today in Upper Canada/Ottawa. happy Christmas to you and Rachel & families.
That looks really nice! I should try that once I have my own place hah
Love the project and how you interacted with the kittens. You might want to round off the corners of those shelves or they might scratch you when you accidentally bump into them
yay! you're back! Loved the video.
Now i want to get an aquarium to grow plants in.
Thanks for the new video
Jun can do anything
thank you for the video :D
Nice Job.
