I think the reason why the chrome bumper is not so desirable is because it's more of an old-school, "old man's car" look. While the plastic bumper and Mtech kit has a more badboy, sporty look.

I think most people prefer the plastic bumpers because most probably when they are introduced to the 30 scene they are shown the 325's or the is . Hence everyone wants the plastic bumper.
It's also the same story for me, but this build shows that every E30 can be special not only the 325 and the is.

Bru you should consider doing a series on all the generations of the BMW 3 series from inception until 2023.
I love a chrome bumper e30. For me it's like the purest and simplest formof the e30 shape. I think people are more used to the other shapes being modified and the more modified or clean chrome bumper versions people see, they will love them more. E30 chrome bumper is on my to do list!

A small turbo will give you the best of both, power and originality, not to mention a different aesthetic to the engine bay. OEM ++
Chrome bumper works b/c the high gloss rubber is thick, not thin. Interior is magnificent. Love the old leather.

100% agree with owner to put mudflaps on vehicle.
Lowered and mudflaps goes hard you sweeping the road with mudflaps.😃
One thing the car needs is the spotlights up front.
I am currently busy building a 2 door chrome bumper 318i and I found this video really inspiring. I also do not understand the shade a chrome bumper gets, finding a clean chrome bumper is also becoming abit scarce IMO. Your interior is 🔥

Chrome plastic doesn't make a difference they both are unique in their own way but when they have the proper looks they are both very gorgeous cars
In 1996 I bought a white 320i with chrome bumpers like this one and I loved these cars growing up. I didnt even have a driving licence until after 2000

The Best looking chrome bumper E30 I've seen. I'd personally swap the engine for an E36 318is engine, which means I'd have the same power as an E30 323i, but I'll do breathing mods which will bump up the power to 325i figures.

Wow...yet another insane build...for a 318i chrome bumper...its thee best ive seen hands down...celeb headlights is perfect.owner should keep it stock as a show car and maybe play around with the 325i..and i definitely agree on a 5star wheel...further more fantasic build mr chip...

Hi bru. Love this build. I saw it in State of Stance. I have a 85 318i 2 door as well. Unfortunately had to do a motor swap but kept exterior standard looking with HRE17". Would love to give you the opportunity to finish off the project. Just one note, please swap the side indicators, I think it's on the wrong side.

I think people like the plastic bumper because of the IS. Everyone loves it and as South Africans it’s what the majority of us think of when we think E30… As for the Motor on 318 I also say leave it as is!!!

Awesome build, simple and elegant. This is what I would personally go for if I would find an E30 318i. Chip I saw the same model car with a green paint on autotrader and it's still on sale for R174 900, it looks very clean on the photos, what do you think of that particular car Chip? Do you think the price is correct?
