    You can fit 5 hole hubs.
    All you need is the correct E30 trailing arms with the bigger bearing, like on the M3.
    These bearings came in all models from 09/1985 on.
    I've done the conversion several times.

    How to identify IS. . . honestly all I had was random stories and things youre doing...would be a good video if it was titled something else.

      basically it's a 5 hole suspension, upside down tag and oaf(325is), oej(325is evoHP) vin number. It's just my simple understanding of the IS(gusheshe).

    All Evo 1 starting build 1990 had aluminium bonnet, front fenders & doors. If there is no aluminium on Evo 1 the car was either in a crash or someone swopped them out. Secondly all 325is models had E30 M3 suspension which includes front aluminium control arms. Both Evo 1 (1990 & 1991) and Evo 2 (late 1991) had front aluminium control arms. Once again if your Evo 1 does not have aluminium control arms it was replaced with steel ones in its life. Its not recommended to press new ball joints into older aluminium arms as the aluminum is soft and will get damaged. Due to high cost of aluminium compared to the standard steel arms most owners when for the cheaper option.

      I’ve seen original evo 1s with steel control arms with the shorted stabilizer link with the original yellow sealer paint

      I can guarantee that was changed at some point. The early production 1986 E30 M3 had steel control arms however in mid 1989 all E30 M3 cars had aluminium control arms. The same upgrade was utilized with our 1990 evo 1 cars as the 325is had full e30 m3 suspension. I personally know of a March 1990 evo 1 build date with aluminium panels and aluminium control arms.

    The vin issue is a headache,we tend to forget vins where manipulated,back then… 🔨u get an evo 2 that has tjs or aapv vin numbers of a chrome bumper

    Please help me, there's a 325is allegedly that doesn't have a sunroof and the tag is 325/2S. The suspension is aluminum, speedometer is 240km top speed and the wheel hub is 5 holes with the original IS Rim.
    Do we have an IS without a sunroof and the that tag?

    • @raticalinc_restore_garage
      @raticalinc_restore_garage  6 місяців тому

      So some of the evo 1s came with no sunroof because it was optional. Those cars should’ve had alcanter interior and headrests if I’m not mistaken

    • @eugenenaidoo2896
      @eugenenaidoo2896 9 місяців тому +1

      I have an HP2, I have not heard about 15 made. I thought all EVO2’s were tagged HP2. Will check up on that one.

    • @eugenenaidoo2896

      The 325i shadowline was a 2.5 motor, All 325is’s as far as I know were 2.7 motor as they were based on the Alpine C2 2.7. Suspension from E30 M3.
      Also, the EVO2 has a Alpina crankshaft. You may notice the EVO1 and EVO2 sounds a bit different..

    • @raticalinc_restore_garage
      @raticalinc_restore_garage  9 місяців тому

      @eugenenaidoo2896 I have some Evo 2 with a normal tag and a HP2 with an upside down tag. My understanding was that the HP2 was the 155kw

      @@raticalinc_restore_garage My tag HP2 is also upside down👍I stand to be corrected. The last production run, tags were upside down.
