I know this is an old video, but I'm looking to do this with my 2010 2ss. After your tune and doing all this did you notice any improvement in HP or get up and go?
@@milesmullings the code was from hollowing out the cats and and the down stream o2 sensors reading all the raw exhaust. But the tuner was able to get rid of it. By basically tricking the ECU as far as I understand
If anyone still wants to do this, you technically can get away with running O2 sensor simulators or non-foulers (for the secondary/DOWNstream oxygen sensors), since you would be retaining the factory o2 sensor locations. The same would apply, if you were to acquire some test pipes/cat deletes that retained the factory 2-piece exhaust manifold/header setup. However, if you get long tube headers or aftermarket “front pipes” or mid pipes with integrated high flow cats (less common); then the o2 sensor simulator trick won’t work, since the sensors are all relocated. At that point, ONLY getting a proper TUNE would be able to “fix” any of those CEL codes..
At the time of this video chris had only done a muffler delete. It was all stock at that point. He was getting careless down pipes so we just decided to have some fun
I gutted mine as well after seeing your video not to hard at all if you are willing to do the work. Thanks for the reply I noticed the same thing, going for my tune in a week or two
i brought 2010 camaro v6 and check engine light is on i find out later that the catalytic is been removed coz in lebanon they remove it to sell it , i was going to change the vapor canister vent solenoid but after i saw this video propably thats why check engine light is on ,so how do i get rid of it ?so i can remote start my engine 🤨 plz help
Nice! I have an unfortunately stock '13 SS Camaro & I'm looking for affordable mods to satisfy me. It has the dual mode exhaust & I've already pulled the fuse to keep it open & it sounds much better, but I've been looking into the cat-delete stuff to wring out a little more pizazz 🤣 from what I've read it's a good idea to have it tuned afterwards
Just do a secondary cat and resonator delete. Otherwise if you do primary and secondary cats you’ll most likely need a tune or your check engine light will be on
That is one way to do it for sure but you can also buy a kit will allow you to plug in down stream o2 to the upstream and trick the computer lol but honestly a decent tune is only 100-200 bucks
Where? The only other few options are $300+, as far as I’ve seen since 2022… And those are backstocked or made to order, probably even discontinued at this point. Whoever’s looking to do this nowadays, is either better off getting long tube headers, or getting shorty headers AND high flow catted downpipes. Not sure why someone withOUT emissions would want the latter option, but… it’s not fairly a common choice at all (unless you live somewhere like in California, USA).

Yes a slight increase in hp but mostly top end because it was moving more air
@@DREAMS2REAlITY Awesome, I plan on doing the same. Thanks man!
was this a secondary cat delete or u did the full cat delete?
Just curious, did the car give any codes after you hollowed out the cats?
Yes the car did throw the CEL due to the down stream O2 sensor but the tuner was able to get rid of it!
DREAMS 2 REAlITY did the code come from a broken sensor or was it from the hollowing?

I took mine off, sold em for $360 and had a shop weld the missing exhaust for $150
@david Rodriguez yeah we only did it for fun and he already order the new ones
Did you still have the resonator on when you did this?
At this point yes it was a full stock exhaust with the muffler delete
Not sure who's editing but use volume leveling. The voice is somewhat quiet, but the music is terribly loud.
Hey thanks for the input we will for sure keep it in mind thx for the sub👍
Do you put non fouler plugs at the top bank o2s or just the bottom sensors on each bank
Nope used both stock o2 sensors tuner was able fix the CEL

What is the exhaust? Catback or axle back? Sounds really good!!

Did it drive weird at all or feel sluggish? Thanks
Brent kugler it was just a little bit unhappy at low rpm around takeoff but after it was turned it got alot better!

Take it to a tuner and they can get rid of it for you only way I know to get rid of it
DREAMS 2 REAlITY i have a code p0449 is that from removing catalytic ?

Is it fast stock?
@@DREAMS2REAlITY can you explain that more and where do you get that kit
Sounds good!
Wowww for $180 you wouldn't have to even screw around doing that.
Lol yeah it was really just for fun he had the cables pipes ordered
