Lyrics: Hey, there lonely girl Lonely girl Let me make your broken heart like new Hey, there lonely girl Lonely girl Don’t you know this lonely boy loves you Ever since he broke your heart You seem so lost Each time you pass my way Oh, how I long to take your hand And say, don’t cry I’ll kiss your tears away Hey, there lonely girl My only girl Let me make your broken heart like new Hey, there lonely girl Lonely girl Don’t you know this lonely boy loves you You think that only his two lips Can kiss your lips And make your heart stand still But once you’re in my arms you’ll see No one can kiss Your lips the way I will The way I will Hey, there lonely girl Lonely girl Let me make your broken heart like new Hey, there lonely girl Lonely girl Don’t you know this lonely boy loves you Don’t you know this lonely boy loves you Hey, there lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely girl Can’t you see that……
"The somewhat ungracefully executed up-cut opening note is not carelessness on my part but the handiwork of whoever lopped off the opening few seconds of the original LP version in order to create this shorter 45 single edit." Had to have been someone at Virtue Studios in Philadelphia that so cut it up (both at the opening and near the end), as they cut the original lacquers for this single. Sounds like a few of the musicians that later made up MFSB played on this. There've been quite a few other 45's whose edits were likewise "ungraceful."
"Every time i 🙉 hear this song i 🤔 think about that one episode of c.o.p.s. the animated series the case of the stuck-up blimp thank-you mr. eddie-holman wherever you are in life?????????? & thank-you social security administration for that one afternoon in march of 2019 & may god 🙏 bless you" 🇺🇸🏙️🤓🤵✝️🛐🙏🕊️❤️🤝🌹.

I was only 3 when I first heard this song. I still love it 51 years later. It is a great love song.
Another we loved back in '70. Good to hear it again.
Wow. This is the first time I've heard the mono mix. Nice.
Saudades...eu tinha essa música numa fita K7 , Acho que era disco de ouro difusora....escutava muito.
Na sequência dessa música , vinha uma que eu gostava muito ....

Lyrics:
Hey, there lonely girl
Lonely girl
Let me make your broken heart like new
Hey, there lonely girl
Lonely girl
Don’t you know this lonely boy loves you
Ever since he broke your heart
You seem so lost
Each time you pass my way
Oh, how I long to take your hand
And say, don’t cry
I’ll kiss your tears away
Hey, there lonely girl
My only girl
Let me make your broken heart like new
Hey, there lonely girl
Lonely girl
Don’t you know this lonely boy loves you
You think that only his two lips
Can kiss your lips
And make your heart stand still
But once you’re in my arms you’ll see
No one can kiss
Your lips the way I will
The way I will
Hey, there lonely girl
Lonely girl
Let me make your broken heart like new
Hey, there lonely girl
Lonely girl
Don’t you know this lonely boy loves you
Don’t you know this lonely boy loves you
Hey, there lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely girl
Can’t you see that……
