Sounds For The Supermarket 2 (1975) - Grocery Store Music
Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 жов 2024
- If you are looking for that classic supermarket jingle then look no further. Sounds For The Supermarket was the title of a tape cassette produced by a Minnesota based Communications company in 1975. It was available by mail purchase to supermarket venders in the US and Canada. The music contains inaudible subliminal recordings that were intended to increase buyer purchasing at grocery stores. Customers were influenced to purchase more products as a result of the brain-wave patterns hidden in the musical notes and sound compositions. Different subliminal tapes were also sold for purposes of advertising and social programming and all contained the title "Sounds For The. . . ." Iv'e held on to this for about 25 years. Musically the sounds are typical easy listening or elevator music. There is no information about the company nor the musicians anywhere that I could find. The label/information has peeled away with time. Each side of the tape had ten songs. All 20 songs are recorded here as 16 separate videos with two tracks bundled together on four of them. Songs 4 and 1 are very classic 70s easy listening.

Bro as soon as I read this it happened at the same time!!!
I read this right at that part in the song.
This one is actually pretty fire.

Bob Joe holy shit there was a comment on top of yours in quotes too saying "so what type of music do you listen to?" And it looks like you're both having a well-mannered conversation lol

Actaully, it was made to make you feel that way. It has subliminal messages, I'd suggest you read the description for more info.

It’s like somebody added a drum track to the Sims “buy” mode. 😂 I love it
whoa does that mean the sims was also using subliminal messages to get people to buy
will simpson I mean, it is EA
The Sims 1 build / buy mode music was peak music
Yea that’s the purpose of this music
This could be why I dreamt I was playing Sims last night. I fell asleep listening to this playlist!

I believe the "subliminal messages" were just catchy as funk rhythms that made people feel good while they shopped
just you wait ‘till track #8
Good theory. It's certainly upbeat. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get some groceries.
I wanted to know if it was true, so I put track 1 into audacity and tore it apart, all I found under the music were some thumps and chirps. I worked on them but they didn't turn into anything. Definitely no subliminal messages that I could find there.
I agree. Nothing subliminal about them. Right now I'm at the store just to get a loaf of bread... Oh wait, that's a great deal on the Hormel Corned Beef. I think I'll grab that. Yes, I do need some Hamburger Helper, those Spaghetti-Os look good.
See, nothing subliminal about it!
yeah like, ooh, nice music, skipidy bop, buy an apple skipidi do.
Ah... I'm having visions of people wearing bell-bottoms, ginormous V-8 engined cars that ran on leaded gasoline, old ladies with humongously-huge hairstyles, people pulling their tube socks all the way up to their knees... What an era it was! Soothingly psychedelic, to say the least! Lol!
am74343 what about mullets
Hey did you say V8! Now I'm sad because V8s are being replaced by V10s and V12s and V6s.
Don't forget being able to SMOKE cigarettes WHILE you shopped in the store! It WAS allowed at the old Red Owl grocery Store in Aberdeen, South Dakota back in the middle 70's "> (true fact, brah!)

There’s a grocery store near me that hasn’t been updated in at least 35 years and I REALLY wish they’d play this there.
They might if you ask or send them an email
The wall murals, the quiet key changes, make me want to go out and buy a 1975 Ford LTD, and force my loved ones back into the land of wood paneling and fluorescent lights.

People are upset that these have subliminal messages in them. I'm just upset they aren't on Spotify.
there's no subliminal messages here
If these really had subliminal messages in them, or ones that worked anyway, they wouldn't have died out, so don't worry, it's just some funky shopping music.
Chris Co. Exactly
Thomas Dupont that’s what a Walmart executive would say
These don’t have subliminal messages. Now pick up some orange juice while you’re out.. and pick up the more expensive one.
I can't help but loudly vocalize this song every time I'm at the grocery store.
Much to the dismay of other shoppers.

SUPERMARKET DOESNT NEED AUTOTUNE🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
How many people after watching this go through their daily routines and then suddenly bust out with “do do do do do do BAM” then continue what they were doing like nothing happened.
Several times a day after discovering this gem but I usually drum it out on objects like my desk, or myself, if nothing is within reach.
I honestly really like this music. Keep coming back to it day after day!
Ok, that drop is LIT.
this music reminds me the time I went to a thin lizzy concert and took too much LSD. I had to work the very next day(I work at a grocery store called Big Star...which this looks like it couls of been a Big Star) . They put me in produce cause the produce guy Mr.Jerkins( which we called "Mr.Jerkings") called in. I was still tripping from the LSD (but I was coming down) Everything looked weird like I was in a cartoon. The lights were so bright and again I felt like I was stuck in some freaking cartoon...BUT...then, they turn on the overhead and I swear this song came on! It actually help calm me down..later, I got off work and smoked a big fat joint...that really, really helped...ah, to be young again Lol

My great-grandpa produced a couple subliminal message albums in the 1970s. One of them was for the listener to lose weight and the other to quit smoking. The woman could actually be heard silently speaking on the subjects. He brought the idea to a cousin of his, Lawrence Welk, and was allowed to use his band but in the end not his name. Along with the Welk name not being able to be used and worries of being sued if someone claimed the whole thing never worked for them, he ended up never releasing the albums. I still have the original studio LPs along with a couple unreleased copies that would have been sold in stores.
You really should upload them :)
