I got a new Ranger...in 1999 and still fishing it...last year after 20 yrs I replaced the carpet. Half of my lids had to be rebuilt because the fiberglass had rotted at the hinges. Got a local machine shop to make four new lids and now Frankenranger is back. What I traded in for my Ranger? 1995 Champion 181 Continder which really was a great boat just no storage in the back but could literally turn on a dime like a wave runner.
Do you think Gator Trax in Louisiana can be in this category? While I ask this question, I here you talk about construction. I don’t see how it could not be.
I agree all mfg have some issues. I had a Range now have Skeeter fx 2018 which i do like. I dont like lack of response from Skeeter when i have a question.
Team Marine Service Twice i requested a recommendation on what to use to prevent screws under rubber bumper on port side from backing out. I’ve had to pull up bumper to retighten them a couple of times now.

Hard to get dealers to take you out anymore, I'm doing all my research online and your channel is a big help. Can't believe I'm going to pay $70,000 for a boat. My new ram and boat will total $110,000 my 2050 square home I just finished $150,000. Just crazy people. But to buy something with all these issues is. Top 5? I like the private owned companys......anything JM owns is out!!!! Bass cat, Allison, G boats, stroker, and the bullet style boats.....there's a few new brands that look like a bullet.
Skeeter 250ZX. Have a 2004 (bought new) and have never had an issue with the boat or the Yamaha 250 HPDI. Just keep upgrading the trolling motor and electronics. Seems like I get a new boat every 4 or 5 years. When the motor dies will just repower with a 250 SHO. I guess a new boat would be nice, just don't want a boat payment for 20 years or have to work all the bugs out of a new boat. Good video by the way.
I owned a Champ 184, loved the ride. Smooth. Now I own a Basscat Pantera Classic. I was on Basscats website recently and see they now make the old champ 203 in a hybrid with the mountain home hull. Now I am thinking of upgrading to it. Amsoil is a good product, I use there oil in my truck, but don't know about the marie products.
Ballistic...Family owned. Vacuum infused top cap and hull. Super light, strong and the .223 and .204 have a aircraft carrier front deck. Oh and let’s talk numbers.... 2020 .204 with 250 Mercury. 2 grown men, live wells full and tourney loaded did 80.4 mph @ 85 degree water temp. The .204 is a 21ft 7 inch boat. You guys really need to get your hands on one and check it out. Oh and if that isn’t good enough, the owner paints the boats himself which is pretty cool.
The first time I bought a Cat was because I wanted a 19' boat, not an almost 20 foot boat. my Garage is 22' from wall to inside of the garage door. The new Panter aII with a Merc 200 (21) Ultrix troller just fits straight in with a couple inches to spare on each end. I could keep the other side for my tools and 2 Harleys. I got it 1 year old and has new stress cracks whuch I was impressed by cause a lot of the other 1 year old boats I looked at already had stress cracks
i have one it's awesome! never have had a problem with it and have had it for 3 years! i get 67 mph out of it which is flying for a 18! handles rough water good... until you get on the big big waters. hoping to upgrade to a z21 soon!
Good hear y’all give some really good boat builders good feed. Really like hearing you two giving blazer and ballistic shout out. Blazer really make a great boat rides great, has speed, sits in water great while fishing. Also not overly priced with 250hp, dual blades and graphs. Never had a chance operate a ballistic, but heard good things about them. Whats yalls person opinion makes ballistic 204, blazer 625 and bullet 21 sst different from each other? How they preform from each other?
Blazer makes a great boat at a great price too! The bullet and the Ballistic are very similar to each other because they are both running a Tennessee Style hull. The Blazer 625 Pro is very similar to the Champion 203...They are all fast, they are all good in our eyes! 👍
Hey guys love the channel and the fact you guys are non bias that being said I have never owned a bass boat I have always had jon boats but my dad is a big ranger guy I would like to get my first one but was wondering what you all think has the best handling for corners amd rough water I’m not worried as much as going fast as I am the handling weather it be past or present thanks in advance
Yes! I have had two champions in my life my first boat ever at 16 was a champion mean 16, which IMO is one of the best beginner/starter boat! A little small but for having that as my first boat ever taught me soooo much, that I have no nerves or am I scared as that boat got me so much experience in sticky situations and I don’t fear I’ll destroy my expensive boat now. After that boat I owned a 2010 Champion elite 210 which I wish I still had that boat. But I now run a 2017 Triton TRX 20 anniversary which that boat moves and does GREAT
However, being a custom car fabricator by trade... I do see the reason for the difference in $$$. The Nitros are defiantly not the best quality in my opinion... but I overlook some stuff like super comfy carpet, nice switches, cool latches when the boat is 20k cheaper than the competition. Some big$$ boats may have better hull construction... BUT My nitro has a lifetime hull warranty (hope to never need it to find out about their customer service)..this is what matters to me->the mercury pro xs busts off every time, it runs around 70mph and I stay dry. For a guy with a tight budget like me... and doesn’t want a tin rig.... Nitro To the Front!
It's a shame they sold out to Johnny Morris. He guts the competition so he can sell his Nitro which is made cheaply, but charge you a lot for add on's.
From watching your videos, you seem very honest and knowledgeable. You have earned my respect. I'd love to know if you have ever had any experience with gatortrax strike series bass boats? If so I'd love to hear your opinion overall, about features they have or lack of, and also how they compare to a fiberglass boat? I'm really thinking of going to one from an older stratos 201xl.
@Adam Portner - Have you gotten any information about the Gator Trax? I'm looking at them too, but it's damn near impossible to find anyone with first hand knowledge. I called them and they were very nice, invited me down to check things out and said they would take me out in a strike series, but I haven't taken them up on it yet.
@@Buldgr well I've never seen one in person but all the owners I've seen online love them and some came out of a fiberglass boat. I just wish a naysayer like these guys would test one. They don't believe a boat over 16ft should be aluminum. I agree most are not built to quality standards, but gatertrax seems like another story. I really wonder if these guys would be surprised or still say no big aluminum bass boats.
Greetings from La Crescenta,Ca. Love your videos there hilarious. Especially when you guys started bashing JM . When his image popped up in the lower corner. Too funny! If you can do a complete review of the mighty silent giant of the war lord of BB the Champion 210 Elite? I have the 2008 blue colored one and I feel like I’m married to Marilyn Monroe. At the docks it gets a lot of attention especially from my fellow Champ owners. We both share the very strong same feelings of JM. Cheers….., Tony
Hey buddy! We did an OVER/UNDER on the Charger 210 Elite if that trips your trigger. That's funny that you, me and thousands of other share that same opinion on our good friend JM. Coincidence? lol Hello right back at ya in La Crescenta from La Crosse, WI
If I had to say best overall ride in ruff water it’s Phoniex hands down because of the seats. Close behind is a basscat. Rangers don’t ride as well in rough water and neither do skeeters also the seats arnt as good.
Iv'e seen the Ballistic - Up front naked and in the process of infusion on the hull at the factory. I can say this is by far, Jim Wells makes a great sound and fast boat. He is up and coming and I am sure the orders are hitting his desk. Proce wise -- You will be VERY surprised at the quality of parts, workmanship and soundness of his boat prices that are below the other 4 rated boats.
#1 ALLISON.
what about Charger 210 Elite.
We've never driven one or seen one close up but we've heard it's a good rig
I know this is an old video but I was told that the new blazer 650 pro tours have wood transoms. I was just wondering if this is true.
Are bass cats foam filled like rangers and vexus?
Recently ranger has a lot of problems.

What’s your opinion on the early 90’s Basscat Pantera 2’s?

Gator Trax Strike Series will hold up way longer than any of these glass boats and can do 80mph
New sub here, what about the Charger boats using the Champion molds?I heard Charger purchased some of the Molds after The Champion plant burned down???

Hey guys love the channel and the fact you guys are non bias that being said I have never owned a bass boat I have always had jon boats but my dad is a big ranger guy I would like to get my first one but was wondering what you all think has the best handling for corners amd rough water I’m not worried as much as going fast as I am the handling weather it be past or present thanks in advance
First off thanks James, we're glad ya like the channel! Hands down the best boat for handling and rough water are the Champions.
Team Marine Service thanks a million guys
Basscat hands down, next boat for me.
Same here. Bass cat is my next boat.
Still love my Champ 193!
I've only had 1 bass boat and still own it, Legend V20, so far very satisfied too bad they are no longer produced
It is! We liked Legends!
@@adamportner8102 I agree 100%! I was looking at the 22 footer. I don't like the colors but I really liked the LSU themed boat.
@@Buldgr it's a custom boat you can pick any color combo you want
I would like to know your thoughts on stratos boats. I’ve got a 93 201 pro xl and I love it! Great ride in rough water and it’s fast!
They make champion's, charger makes the 210 elite, and its the true champion hull.
They definitely do, we hope they are built up to the old Champion standard
Team Marine Service That’s not saying much but yes they are the exact Same Champion boat.
Bass cat also has a champion boat hybrid
I’d like to see you guys do a complete review of the Ballistic and show the people out here what they have to offer
We could do that! Great comment! 👍🏻
Two big thumbs up! 👍🏻👍🏻
You forgot Allison . Thanks for the team talk Larry
We like Allison's, check out our Brand Battle were we featured Allison, Bullet and Blazer!
