    Amazing how quickly repairs can be done when we don't go the BEE route.
    If we had the job would take years to complete and probably cost billions

      Yes the irony is how they force BEE rules but have to get some Chinese contractor to fix the bridge.

    I see that they are Chinese contractors. We could be using our own engineers etc. Explains joblessness in south Africa. And because of Beee etc our highly skilled engineers have emigrated to countries where they are appreciated. How sad.

      But the qualified artisans engineers technicians are sitting at home due to affirmative action and BEE, do now 28 years of experience is gone
      30% pass rate caused this

      Well, we shouldn't actually be worrying that the chinese contractors was awarded the project. Skilled engineers in South Africa or have left South Africa. 99% of our guys would have never broke this time frame of getting the job done.This repair is truly record breaking. Well done to the team.

      The chinese are masters in civil engineering. You just need to land in one of their airports to see this...

      @BrianaMarie-m3w before 1994 we would of
      South Africa had before 94 very good artisans engineers technicians, I worked for a very big private company
      They built big massive steelwork for gold mines, whole shaft headgear
      Gold plant,
      But after 94 definitely not

    We need to know who inspected the bridge last and passed it as safe.

    We had a similar situation on the n2 toll just before unvoti it took over a year to fix 😂what joke we need these contractors for all bridge repairs but alas they will be pushed aside because of efficiency and cost effectiveness.

      @Palmstreet-u7x Місяць тому

      This all happened because of evil Mandela bringing in affirmative action causing the qualified artisans engineers technicians from before 1994 sitting at home and due to Bee, this aftermath caused unskilled unqualified previously disadvantaged black people to get the jobs without any experience

    OMG, are they using the masters of Tofu Dreg to repair the bridge. If you don't know tofu dreg look it up.

      Yes, I had to go to Zambia to rescue a project started by the Chinese but became a total disaster, it took another year to remove then replace their mess, causing millions of dollars over budget.

    This video is very misleading 🙄 cause the end of the video it says complete. As a resident of Isipingo, this was posted on all local groups , which got us all excited for no reason. For some us our home is 2km from the off ramp yet we sitting for hours

    Chinese contractors from the Spagett Junction project, no local content al all, our own engineers are no longer competent, or permitted to work it seems..

    • @Palmstreet-u7x

      All the white qualified artisans engineers technicians are sitting at home due to affirmative action and BEE

    • @Nikx012
      @Nikx012 Місяць тому +2

      The chinese engineers are masters in their work though. Spaghetti junction is a peice of cake for them . I guess they do work on many times the scale we do infrastructure in SA. So I wouldn't be too concerned about the quality of work. Just sad that we don't have the skills

    • @Palmstreet-u7x
      @Palmstreet-u7x Місяць тому +2

      @Nikx012 I agree 💯 about quality
      But before 1994 white engineering firm were just so good
      I did my apprenticeship at one, General Erection in Welkom
      Headquarters in Germiston
      We built headgear winder house, whole plant's
      But that is before 1994
