I have been in that dark place, I suffer from anxiety and depression and it is a struggle for me every day!!! After my husband passed away I didn’t want to live any more so I took sleeping pills and layed down on my bed. As I was laying down I thought about my children and knew I couldn’t go through with it. I jumped up and forced myself to throw up. I thank God for giving me another chance. 🙏

This poor woman went through so much and was criticized, judged and just drug through the mud. Why people couldn’t just step back and let her heal and make her music I will never understand. Shame on everyone that made life so hard for her.

I watched her last interview and from what I understand, by what she said, she wanted to get her life together so that she could have her sons back. I'm having a VERY hard time believing she committed suicide. However: I have been in the darkest of moments myself, I nearly died twice after attempting suicide (I thank God I wasn't successful). Depression is a place where there is NO light and NO hope. It's a terrible place to be. I honestly believed, at at the time that they (my children) would be better off without me. Now I realize the incredible pain, confusion and unending heartache they would have suffered. They're grown now but, still suffering the effects of what I couldn't control. Depression is an unimaginable pain to those who have never experienced it. I overcame my suicidal tendencies when my sister (who is now gone; cancer) became sooo angry with me and cried I'd do anything to live and you just want to die!. My heart broke; my life changed and I am still here. RIP, Mindy. I love you and wish someone would have been there to help you

This lady asked Mindy point blank if she killed her boyfriend. If she really could see how distraught she was that day and really cared she would not have asked her that.

The use of "public " is a broad term. Media was largely responsible, even for swaying the beliefs of citizens. Why was the media focused on some presumed, yet undiagnosed mental illness, and the history of substance abuse? Neither of those issues necessarily contributed to Mindy's death, "ruled" a suicide. Grief is NOT mental illness. Grief is not substance abuse, and where are toxicology reports to verify that Mindy died with any drugs or alcohol in her system? Grief itself, can be profound enough to adversely affect a person's emotional well-being, and their optimism for their future. I cannot imagine what it might feel like to loose my career, my sense of character, my status in society, my beloved partner, and my treasured children, systematically. Where was the respect for Mindy the human being, as spectators unraveled Mindy the public figure? The same has been done to a doctor who tried to help her, regardless that Mindy allowed part of her struggles to be made public. Maybe she meant to be a positive influence on others who were struggling as she was. Somehow I doubt she expected her candidness to be so greatly ridiculed. I hope her sons will someday take pride in their Mother's strength in the face of so much tragedy. Bless you Mindy McCready, you were a gift who so briefly filled hearts with your talent.

I lost my friend to suicide a few years ago.
His wife called my to reach out to him which I did.
I'd visit him 2-3 ,times per week and talked with him on the phone the rest of the time.
I thought I had gotten through to him.
One day I get a call that he did take his own life.
He did it in a way that shocked me.
Wife told me he took a long flex hose and put it on the exhaust and found it along with a mask he had attached to the other end.
I'm so glad I tried reaching out to him, if not the guilt would have stayed with me for the rest of my life.
If you have a friend or a loved one that you think is suicidal make sure to reach out to them even if they want to avoid you because it could save their life even though it didnt help my friend.
A lot of times they don't give us any indication that they are having a hard time mentally.

There is no answer really? So many distressing issues piled up higher and higher. How much can a person bare? She was desperate and at the same time expressing hope in her interview. Words and actual relief are two very different things. Even with the genuine help people offered it was just to much, to powerful. We need a touch from a Source far higher than humans at a time like this. Some people get that touch, some people don’t. Which ever way it goes we trust the Source knew best for that precious individual. It’s like some people heal from cancer and others die. Some things are beyond our human understanding. Rest In Peace dear precious lady.

Really ridiculous to try to point a finger at Mindy as a murder suspect of her beloved boyfriend. Makes you wonder just how stupid the Sheriff' can be? Probably done just for publicity & backdoor payoff money. They do things differently down there than other places. Really disgusting behavior.

Way to go Dr Drew. Insert Jodie Arias into the conversation just to speculate she may have been in a bad relationship only to go on and then say he doesn't know when of course he doesn't, because the victim can't defend himself & Drew is only going by what comes out of the horse's own mouth...the killer who nearly decapitated her victim so he can just leave her out of this.
And what a hypocrite to be outraged investigators were questioning Mindy's involvement in her husband's death while he's questioning what might have led Arias to do what she did because of her relationship w/the victim..
Methinks Drew needs to step back and think things through so he doesn't trip over his own words, not to mention, interrupting Andrea Canning...how rude.

It is sad when anyone commits suicide. But Mindy is one in 10 million. I mean, for every Mindy, there are 10million people out there that would love to trade places with her - be what she was, have what she had. I bet she's more successful than all of us on this platform put together. As sorry as I am for Mindy, I am baffled still: Why do celebrities make all these bad choices. It's nothing to do with their parents - let's not blame family all the time. What makes us stick as human beings is family - solid family. If we're too successful and busy to connect or create family, then when we need love, we won't find it in money or things. Let's face it, celebrity live very artificial lives. They are surrounded by managers, promoters, writers, reporters, fans, etc. These are people that sees you as a commodity. You're only as good as your next song. But to your family, you're Mindy - the girl they love from birth. At the height of fame, most celebrities don't have time for their family. At their lowest depth, they're often too ashamed to go 'home'. Fame, money, sex, things - don't make us happy. They're not food for the soul. What the soul need is connection with it's source. And many of us are disconnected from our source and hence we feel adrift, lost, depressed, unhappy. You may call it mental illness or whatever, but it is the presence of an absence - a hole that just can't be filled no matter how much you try.

I wish Dr. Drew would have called them out on their bullshit. Had the press just left her alone, she may have found her way through this. I stopped watching Dr. Drew when it all became about the money and t.v. face time. He's so damn smart and caring, but Hollywood came calling, and messed that up. Maybe he's different now. I stopped watching t.v. 4 years ago because actors, actresses, and reality television is too awful. Give me a book, and I'm a happy camper. I'm not religious, so I don't believe in heaven or hell. I do believe that she's in a better place though.

I have to do crap at work every day that is stigmatized by society but I do it because I give not one f about what others think. I need to eat. She was so vain she decided she was too good to do what was needed to save her life. Thats 100% vanity, and choosing vanity over survival is a choice, and a bad choice. It was her choice, Dr. Flunkie. We outside million dollar superstars choose to avoid vanity and stigma every day, cause we dont care about social media. If we did care we would be homeless or dead.
