Your video was great (and I have looked at several)! I felt like you were speaking directly to me sharing your practical tips and advice. I am going to Ghana in June and so looking forward to my trip. Thank you! BTW, you are lovely.
With flights, I get the best deal buying online from the direct airline rather than through an agent. Also, best thing is to purchase tickets a few months ahead. You can also sign-up for flight drop alerts so you get an email whenever the prices for your dates drop. There are some seasons that are expensive (July) but if booked months in advance it should be fine. I've paid $2100 before flying economy from Toronto to Ghana so it's really important to book ahead. Surprisingly, there are some flights where business class is maybe just an extra $400-$500 when you get to the ticket counter especially with Air Canada & Brussels airline. Also, though it's usually hot in Ghana the planes are freezing...dress properly lol.
+Jennifer C. Such good advice. Never thought of setting alerts. And yes, those darn flights and their freezing temperature. I don't mind it because I always get super excited when I'm close. Nothing matters anymore. Lol
hey hey! i'm going to visit Nungua next year.. but my question is... Do they accept like a bank card ? or do you need a Visa card to pay there ? or is it best to have cash ? And where can I look for tickets the best? I'm in The Netherlands. maybe you could help me... I'm most worried about the payment and stuff..
+Randy Hilferink it is best to have cash and backup cash on a Visa card. The fees for using a Visa card varied from bank to bank so you may want to check before travel. From the Netherlands, KLM should have a reasonably priced flight to Accra, I believe. Cards are an accepted form of payment so do not be worried ☺
Nana Ashanti thank you so much for responding that fast... I'm a bit scared but also excited !! any other tips for me ?? I will be staying at a friend's place... but this will be my first visit there..
+Randy Hilferink Going to anywhere for the first time is nerve wrecking. Best tip: keep an open mind. Don't over research. Just arrive and be spontaneous. You'll love it, you'll see. 😊
The hotels are exorbitantly overpriced!!! I don't trust security at B n B... Plus, I'd feel as if I'm imposing... So, the hotel is more than the airfare, round trip...
+Charla Gotier there really are different price points for hotels. If you do want a very nice one, yes. Accra's hotel are very expensive. Air b n b is actually not bad. There are ones where you cam get the whole place for yourself.
Nana Ashanti Aww! Thanks for reply.. I've been concerned because I would like to go to different places around.. Not just one hotel. Ground transportation is the only other thing.. But I'm so excited to come!
+Charla Gotier Uber is available in Ghana. Seems way more reasonable priced than a regular cab. Public transportation is good too. If you'd like to move around, everywhere is much cheaper than Accra. An hour away from Accra is like night and day in price point. Plan as much as you can ahead. If you need someone to help you around, let me know. I'll hook you up. 🤗
When you say survive what do you mean? Because we have to survive in the US just waking up hoping that no one gets stop by the police if black. Or if you silently protest against injustice your subject to be ostracized or assassination to your character just for disliking the president. Also, your not offered same business opportunity as others and if you are granted a loan for a business or home they make it impossible to pay it back then they snatch it from under you. These experiences I've observed many black ppl go through. Finally, If another person tell me to go back to Africa I'm going to tell them to pay for it and "Gofundme" or pay me reparations like you did the Jews/Japanese/Indigenous ppl. I can thrive and live happily in Ghana.

+shah-ril undersun I'm pretty sure you read way too deep into a word. I'm my happiest in Ghana too. You took it out of context. Not that deep.
You are beautiful with the head wrap. I am so sick of those clown wigs.
