It's so weird to me when people say they hate the idea of Stancy getting back together because it will throw away all their character development, uhm their character development is exactly why they should get back together and why it actually makes sense for them to get back together.
They don’t understand that both of them got mature & aren’t the same as they were in S1. Them going their own ways & both of them rekindling their past love. It just proves that it’s the right time for them to get back together
I completely agree. Steve didn't deserve Nancy in the first season and that is why she could be fine with Jonathan. But then already in the third season there was a crisis between these two characters, while Steve over the seasons has had a fantastic evolution. Now he fully deserves Nancy and i think that there is more chimistry between those two
I've read comments from people claiming that Steve isn't right for Nancy, because he wants to have lots of kids and make her a housewife instead of helping her focus on her career. I found it so heavy. He just told her about one of his dreams and that she was part of it, doesn't mean that everything had to come true. People come together and build dreams in common. He loves her so much and would definitely support her in making her dreams also come true.
Love this! Just because you have dreams doesn't mean the dreams of your s/o have to end. Nancy can be successful and they can still have a lot of children and travel. Nancy herself said his dream sounded nice.
Totally agree and Steve never said she would have to raise the kids by herself. It would be both of them, and it’s a family vacation. My mom and dad both have great careers and were great parents so it’s possible.
Literally he just said in summer he wants to road trip with his wife and 6 kids. That's his dream. He's entitled to it. Even if he doesn't end up with all 6, "the most important part" as he said is Nancy being there with him. So people saying he's trying to contain her and keep her from her dreams are just salty Jancys trying to keep their dead, and lame ship above water.
And they are also 19 or 20 years old, if Stancy is the endgame. Steve does want children but not now, he said that in the future he would like to, that's how I understood him but for me before that Nancy and Steve can go to university or work they can even get married before thinking about children, the fact that having a family is not an impediment to fulfilling your dreams or working on what you like if it is difficult but for that children have two parents, the upbringing is from the parents not only from the mother. I think Nancy also never stopped loving Steve- the guilt she had with barbs death made her feel obligated to break up with him, but after she got some closure her feelings are popping back up and she’s realizing it
I remember Dustin saying Nancy used to play with him and Mike before she started to see Steve. He even mentioned she showed up at school dressed up like a LOTR elf, so I am wondering if this is the reason why Steve started to get drawn to Nancy.
something i love abt stancy is how it turned out to be the opposite of what everyone expected nancy was so afraid of ending up like her parents bc she didn’t want to live a convenient but boring and unhappy life in a big house in a passionless relationship where she’ll have no life of her own besides being a housewife, and she thought this would be her life with steve in the end, steve has proved to want and be sm more than that, believes in her like no one else, and truly loves her now it seems like Jonathan is the guy she stays with bc it feels familiar and safe

There are people out there saying Steve talking to Nancy about his dreams of having children and that she's there means that he wants her to take care about them as a housewife, what the hell? Do they watch the show? Steve is literally the mom of the group. Everybody calls him Momma Steve for a reason. His wife wouldn't take care about the kids alone, they would work together. I see many possibilities of them ending up together and I'll be happy for them, honestly ;)
I admit I wasn't a big fan of Steve in the beginning. And I was more into Jancy after watched ST for the first time. Steve has matured so much and he is now one of my favorite characters. I think Jonathan though who started very mature is now behaving like a child. He and Nancy are drifting apart because he can't even tell her the truth about his college plans. I don't like Jonathan's behavior in S4 very much. And even when he reunites with Nancy you can clearly see the rift between them. Steve was brave enough to tell her his dreams and that he still has feelings for her. I know he thought that he maybe would be dying, but it was a big step. And I believe that if there wouldn't have been the big showdown with Veccna, Nancy's reaction would have been different. But of course the Duffers have to keep the suspense for S5. 😏

I think she just needed to process the "6 baby" thing. You can tell throughout the season she was starting to feel for him again, and I think she just didn't have the courage to tell John off, yet. She clearly didn't seem all that excited when she told John they were still good. By season 5 they're clearly done. Season 4 was just setting up for it

I didn't complain Jancy in ss 2,3 even they made me feel boring all the time when they were together, but I was ok with that and just skipped their scenes. I didn't care this love triangle cuz I love Steve with the kids. But ss4 is totally different, Stancy chemistry is on fire that changes my POV totally. I rewatch 4 seasons to recognize that Jancy relationship was already broken since ss3. Lol. They united by trauma but when they faced the real life, they have no common and argued all the time.

It's your decision whether to ship them, but I have to comment on your thoughts on his dream. All his dream is, is to go on a cross-American road trip with his big family ( I have thoughts on why there are so many kids but I won't get into that here) and his dream also includes Nancy. With Nancy, she doesn't talk much about her dreams of the future except going to college at Emerson and most likely going into journalism (this one is not stated outright but with her interning at the local paper in season 3 and being an editor for the school newspaper I am assuming it is this route she wants to go). Nancy does talk about what she doesn't want in season 1 and that is the relationship her parents have, having that nuclear family. I am assuming since this is the 80s and her parents most likely got married in the mid to late 60s she is referring to the 50s version of this where the husband has a good-paying job and the wife is a stay-at-home mom and takes care of their 2.5 kids (She never mentioned not having kids just that she didn't want to end up with someone she didn't love because it was safe and ending up being a housewife in a culdesac). Never did steve mention he wanted the perfect nuclear family in a culdesac (six defiantly not the stereotypical nuclear family amount), and he never even mentioned the mother being a housewife just that it was Nancy.

Even Nancy moved on and he hasn’t even tried to, he seems to be hung up on the girl who emotionally cheated and moved on so quickly from him that it was borderline cruel. He seems to think pining after her is acceptable, when it just comes across as stalkery, I know that’s what I would think if it were real life. It’s because we the viewers, know Steve that it comes across as harmless. Either way, I assumed he would find someone new who actually chose him first, rather than wait for Nancy to be ready because that may never happen and even if it did, it doesn’t really showcase Steve in the best light. His dreams may be simple, but it just doesn’t seem like Nancy’s style, plus they never really had that fire as a couple to begin with and it’s why even people who don’t ship Jancy and are ambiguous, are still not fans of these two. It comes across as extremely regressive because even if Jancy break up, which they very well might because they have different paths, it happens, it would still make more sense for Nancy to be single or with someone new than be with Steve. 🤷🏼♀️

He never mentioned how often he thought of the dream I feel it is something that he thought of when they were together and a bit after they broke up, but tried to move on from it. Then when both him and Nancy were forced to work together because of Vecna old feelings emerged (its not uncommon) and he remembered his dream. They are both very different from who they were in season one and I love the idea of right person wrong time. You don't have ship this but why watch this video if it is not a couple you like.

Also I don’t mind the characters independently, it just felt really odd watching them try to force this relationship that for the past 3 years, the narrative was actively working against, that’s actually my main problem with it. I mean they really only have one more season to make it make sense so I don’t know how narratively they will be able to do that, cos with Jonathan in the picture, it will most likely feel rushed. I genuinely wouldn’t have minded if they had fleshed it out more or better, but instead it all feels disjointed. I do however respect your right to ship it.

I genuinely wouldn’t have minded if they had fleshed it out more or better, but instead it all feels disjointed. I do however respect your right to ship it.
@@taraz6786 You do know is season 3 he tried to pick up dates at scoops ahoy and in season 4 when both Steve and Robin were introduced he was talking about another girl, and he even went on a date in the first episode and Robin even mentioned him going on a million dates and not knowing what he wants
