She could be a failed student of either Twilight, Cadence or even Flurry. Much like Sunset was. Perhaps she became so corrupted by the power that the only way her mentor could stop her was by severing the connection between the three pony tribes via the crystals. Which is why she's had to lay dormant for so long.
The minion being reformed.... actually makes a lot of sense, i know people brought up that the species dynamic is inbalanced, so this potentially unwilling unicorn being brought over to the side of good and potentially being the "spark" that makes the sixth element appear is an interesting read
I would like to point out the shape of her horn. That is the common shape of Saddle Arabian unicorn horn. This is peculiar in that she is not related to any of the previous antagonists or alicorns since none of them actually hailed from that particular location. It is also interesting to note that this might be another mystery of how an she achieved alicorn hood. Either she has to be a descendant of previous alicorn royalty or earned it in a event that defined her title of Princess of (Friendship, Love, Moon, Sun, Evil, etc...). So either Twilight or Flurry heart came to love a Saddle Arabian colt. Or she proved her proficiency at something. Edit: I only now realize that there is no official name for Mistmane's home. I don't think Rockhoof's home has one either.
Unicorns from Neighpon also have a curved horn. Mistmane has a curved horn and she's from neighpon. Of course King Sombra also had a curved horn and we don't know his origin(yes I know what the comic says, but it's non-canon).
I think the unicorn next to the alicorn will likely get reformed, that way the series can go back to the same M.O. that FiM had; two ponies for each species.
I've been trying to decipher the unicorn's body language. She seems slightly curious and/or apprehensive, and trying not to show too much emotion. Kind of reminds me of Coco Pommel. Maybe she's the same type of sidekick, who does as she's told but knows it's wrong, as opposed to a Dragon type like Tempest Shadow. I wonder how she got into that situation.
Her throne looks a lot like the Crystal Empire throne in G4. I'm guessing she's a corrupted Flurry Heart, possibly turned by Sombra or the same force that turned Luna into Nightmare Moon.
Hmmcould be, though the pattern on the floor is more reminiscent of Canterlot after the movie re-design. Though if it is the Crystal Empire, then maybe she wants to use the magic to reclaim the Crystal Empire? That should be frozen without magic.
She doesn’t look like Flurrly enough. True that Luna changed a lot as Nightmare moon, but why would the horn change. Flurry’s daugher would work better for me.

Aside from Purple Snooty's relationship (if any) to the G4 characters and to Sunny, I'm also wondering a couple of things: - What was she doing until now? Was she just sitting there for centuries waiting for magic to come back, or was she frozen in time somehow while magic was gone? Was her magic gone too? - Does she have anything to do with Hitch finding the dragon egg? Was that phone call meant to lure him to the beach so he would find it? - What are her powers? We see her observing Maretime Bay from a high point (which is not the brighthouse, I compared with the view from the balcony earlier). Why can she see from that point specifically? What else can she see? We probably won't find answers to any of these questions until the series actually starts, but it's fun to speculate.
this new alicorn is interesting, she may have a snooty attitude, but she might also have clues as to why magic suddenly dissipated and their are many theories to it already. This new character however brought a new piece to the theory table and that she might be responsible for Equestrias downfall and Twilight's disappearance. Originally i code-named her via dossier file code-named Velvet-shadow, but snooty pony works just as well too. As for the background, the throne she has, resembles an antiant elven design, to the side just above the other unicorn i could almost make out a banner. the widow pains and tree branches have a woodland nature vibe, cluing that she might be in a forested area. Her horn though is quit unique for an alicorn, being that its curved we've seen this before with Mistmane.
Yeah I definitely haven't really thought much about them bringing back the elements, but considering that we know g4 is canon to g5, it makes me wonder if we might see some other artifacts from g4. Maybe the mystery alicorn got their hands on Grogar's Bell and it had some left over magic, allowing her to become an alicorn.
She could be Flurryheart's daughter. Also note how her horn kind of curves, maybe that will mean something too. Also anyone else thinking/hoping Hitch is Fluttery's (real great) grandson? It was already proven in gen4 that earth ponies can give birth to unicorns and pegasi so it's possible
Thoughts off the top of my head... There is something that I did notice about this alicorn... and that is the shape of her horn. I could be going out on a limb here, but the alicorn appears to have, what I would call an "old style" horn. If you remember from the G4 era, when ancient unicorns were mentioned, at least, what I saw and can remember, Ancient Unicorns had a curved, blade-like horn (prominently appearing in the backstory for Mistmane). Though this might also be like a sub-species or the genetic predecessor of Unicorn since it seems Starswirl's horn is straight rather than curved. If that is the case, then this alicorn could have been from that same time period. From what I remember (though it could have been in passing theory), Celestia and Luna were made INTO alicorns, and I think it is also a theory that Starswirl had something to do with that process. What if THIS alicorn was part of his early experiments in making Alicorns? if that is the case, he might have started with a Unicorn, but in the process either her wings don't work, or her magic was shorted out, making it extremely weak, or unusable, and maybe even causing her to be sealed away due to her wanting vengeance for turning her into this unusable form. It could be a strong reason to "take back what is mine" since she was denied it after her new form didn't live up to the hype. Either that, or what Starswirl ended up creating was something like Lore and Data from Star Trek: TNG... This Alicorn could have been so ridiculously powerful that it corrupted her, and Starswirl found a way to take away her power, since Grogar's Bell was missing at that point... i think... and sealed her away. But whenever and for whatever reason magic disappeared from the world, the spell sealing her away could have ended, and she was set free. But with magic gone, she might have even had a hand in planting the seeds and breadcrumbs for Argyle and eventually Sunny to bring Magic back in a stable form, and now that it is, she wants what is "rightfully hers". -T.K.

@@TheZim40k TL;DR - Not sure if it could be twilight unless she experimented with some form altering magic The only thing that makes me think that it isn't Twilight is the shape of her horn since it's curved and blade-like. Unless she used some kind of targeted form altering magic, which does exist, I'm not sure she would want to tamper with the thing that would allow her to use magic in the first place. Another thing that comes to mind from G4 was that Mistmane and (at least what was shown in backstory) Gusty the Great also had the magical flowing manes and tails and as far as I know, didn't become alicorns at all. So maybe a flowing mane is moreso akin to a status symbol? although.... A thought just hit me... what if she is like... a descendant of Chrysalis? If she is, then she could be a changeling in disguise, since it is hinted, or at least insinuated that changeling magic and pony magic are two VERY different things, since it was the only thing that would would around the main hive in the episode "To Where and Back". Or heck, what she is a descendant of Ocellus? from what it looked like, all the reformed changelings were basically mini-alicorns (albeit with the insect motif). And the reformed changelings DID have curved blade-like horns, so maybe Ocellus after a while decided to settle down with a pony? She was surrounded by them for a long while at the school, could take the form of one, and was both a student and as a staff member it looked like a the end of G4. And if that would be the case, that offspring might have some traits of both parents, and then continuing down the lines might further and further dilute the Changeling bloodline, but never fully erase it. And since it seems now that Ponies are the only race that exists, or is at least shown, perhaps those physical traits hung around in this Alicorn with Pony overtones since the Changeling traits would have been "bred out" so to speak. She does have a mane color scheme similar to Ocellus's overall color pallet.
If there are six elements of harmony, they won't be Loyalty/Kindness/Honestly/Laughter/Generosity/Magic: they've already told us that: Sunny=Hope Izzy=Creativity Pipp=Confidence Zipp=Courage Hitch=Kindness Of course, the Pillars' virtues morphed over time into the Mane Six's virtues, so it wouldn't be that big a stretch for the Elements of Harmony to morph again between G-4 and G-5.
The minion really seems like the best best because as we have discussed Izzy did have 6 cups for 6 future friends in her house during the movie and this character will fill the two of each race kind of thing. So we'll have two unicorns in the main cast!
I know I'm thinking way to far into this, but the villain has a curved horn which makes me think they may have been apart of or a descendent of the Mistmane's Tale. Also she seems to have been around before magic disappeared and may have been the reason it was sealed away. Her horn also reminds me of Sombra, where it is curved and goes from one color down to skin color.
Plus the subtitles called her ‘alicorn’. If Twi or Flurry: how did they fall from grace? Descendant of an established Alicorn: how did she fall so far from the proverbial tree? My best guess is this may be a recurring villain.
I too thought she may be Sunny's mother. Once she appeared, my jaw dropped at the huge mysteries and potential something like this has. I would like to get some characterization from that Unicorn, perhaps she could be a bit like Thorax was to Chrysalis's ways. Overall like I said so many possibilities they can run with this.

I'm not sure.. She looks nothing like Sunny, and Argyle doesn't fill in the gaps. Of course, pony genetics isn't just 1:1 stuff.. But if we compare to G4 parents and children... Twilight, Shining Armor, and their parents all look similar. The parents have a grey coat, blue-ish mint eyes, and purple and purple and white striped mane (mother), blue coat, gold eyes, and darker blue mane. Shining has a white coat, blue-mint eyes, and a darker blue mane with a lighter blue stripe (like the mother's white stripe) . Twilight has a purple coat, purple eyes, and a deep blue mane, with a purple and pink stripe. The purple eyes are somewhat out of nowhere, but purple was in the parent pair so oh well. You can also look at other parents and see similar patterns. It's not like "mom has red coat, dad has white coat, baby MUST have either pink coat, red, or white" but there's a general comparative nature between the parents and kids in mlp. Argyle is all blue and purple, cool tones. Meaning that Sunny's mother probably gave her the warm tones, we could assume her mother had some reds and pinks. OR Sunny is adopted/not genetically Argyle's kid. Or just crazy genetics, like Pinkie Pie's parents making a bright pink pony despite them being grey, and dark mustard colored coats, and dark green and grey manes... This mystery alicorn is a deep purple with minty hair, even if we assume nightmare moon-magic got to her, Luna is also still a deep blue in her normal form. Similarly, I don't think she's flurry heart because the mane is just too far off. It just doesn't look right... This alicorn is likely a totally new character. Based on colors, she looks more like she could actually be Hitch's mom (mint hair) or even Izzie's... Maybe I'm just biased because the whole "I am your [relative]" feels too cheesy as a villain trope...
To be fair, Loyalty is an element that is easy for the Darkside to abuse. Anyone here remember Ronin Warriors? One of the 'Elements' of the armors was specifically that, and the bad guys used the person who wore it for their own purposes.

That’s a really interesting prospect. Like a Sunset Shimmer who was able to get what she wanted, alicorn status, and Twilight had to choose between magic or stopping her former student.

A detail I want to add, is that she’s the size of a regular pony. So, if twilight grew up taller, that means she’s young. Recently born/becoming an alicorn. Strange

I do not know what to think of this character on who she is. But I am so excited to see who it is and what she will do in the series. Maybe she is the reason the magic was gone for so long, why the crystals were made, and maybe why the tribes were divided as well. We will have to wait and see, this is so exciting. talking about the villain, how she talks, looks and act like, i think, and i come to this conclusion because of hints we got, she might be an ancestor of king sombra himself. since we dont have that much backstory of him (leaving the comics about him aside), he might had a son or a daughter, that lived onwards after he actually died or got again banished, or even never returned after season 9 from G4.
Ok A. I like to refer to Sunny’s transformation as “Alicorn State” like Aang/Korra “Avatar State” And Z. As soon as I saw the new Alicorn, I immediately thought of one of Silver Quill’s videos where he presented Majesty from G1 as a “could-be villain”
Well her design matches radiant heart. Just because comics arent canon, doesnt mean characters wont cross over I can understand twilight falling, imortality while watching all her friends die and the race wars tearing pony kind apart to the point where she needs to lock away magic to make sure no pony gets hurt. All her work for nothing. That could totally open somepony up to the dark side.
I agree, just because comics aren’t automatically canon doesn’t mean some things from them and versions of characters could not be used. Like Marvel changing things from comics. Bigger issue is that would G5 writes really even have heard of her? Not exactly super famous character. Sometimes characters look similar by concidence.

I don't believe Sunny is related to an existing alicorn. The Cristals must be acting as a cork for magic when the tantion raises between the 3 kinds of ponies so the windagos don't detect it. It wasn't perfect tho. The windagos found them. That's where the storm came from. I believe if the Cristals were destroyed, the ponies would get all their magic back with or without harmony

@@TheZim40k Wow this is long. Twilight's mane did flow. I raise you this question, how is the sun and moon still settling and rising? I do not believe Alcorns live forever, Celestia was probably above 1,500 years old or so when she stepped down as queen, and that was too old. She was getting weeker, too week to protect Equestria. Nightmare Moon defeated her, Queen Crystals defeated her, Discord defeated her (he wasn't even trying). The elements of harmony aren't as they were. The new main 6 turned the tree of harmony into a treehouse. If that was twilight, why would she sit back and wait for them to figure everything out?
Some have suggested that this new villain could be Twilight Sparkle, but I support the competing theory that she is corrupted Flurry Heart in her nightmare form. Just look at her curly mane style and her eye color. And, in addition, the building whose wall appears in the background is reminiscent of the architecture of the old Crystal Empire (of course it can also be a coincidence). But as long as no names are officially confirmed, these are just theories and speculations. But if she’s Flurry Heart, who is sometimes referred to as the "Princess of the Merchandise", then it would be ironically funny and self-critical because then we would have the “Princess of the Merchandise” who would be corrupted into evil.

It could be a slightly insane twilight, after the loss of all of her friends, loss of magic, and loss of her kingdom its not too far of a stretch to think that she may have slowly lost it. A few hundred years of isolation even if self imposed would drive any pony mad.

This would leve twilight with out the elements of harmony and any way in protecting Equestria. Yeah i know she has her powers but during the show she ran into villains that where stronger then her thats why she need her friend. So when a new villains stronger than her showed and with out no new friendship she probably turned the Crystal Clubhouse you know the one in the show to make the three crystals we see today in generation 5 but instead of harnessing the elemental of magic it took magic Away or absorbed the magic from Equestria. but as long as the crystals were together and the ponies of Equestria were friends and work together the power would have stayed in Equestria. But as time went on the ponies separated to their own Nation to there own kind making friendship in Equestria disappear as well as the Magic Twilight sceneing this separated the crystals and gave it to the leaders of each Nation hoping that one day they will come together and bring the crystals together to make one nation again and to bring back the magic but in time those crystals themselves became Legends and forgotten. this would mean not just thousands but hundreds of thousands of years have gone by and Twilight being the celestial being she is saw all that happen. All the hatred the pain wars that she saw in Equestria over centuries hardened her heart to make her her version of Nightmare Moon the villain that I believe she might be in generation 5. Honestly, I could make a case for either Twilight or Flurry still. Twilight: She's the Princess of Friendship, and yet _she outlived all of her friends._ I actually demonstrated via improv acting for my wife how Twilight going insane and turning evil after losing her friends is a likely scenario, just based on what we know about her. Flurry Heart: You said that you can't see Flurry going that route, but... we don't know anything _about_ Flurry Heart. She was a baby still at the end of the show proper, and while we know that she became an important figure in Equestria during The Last Problem, we never saw Flurry Heart directly. For all we know, she could have grown up to be a stuck up brat, or again, something happened that led to an Alicorn Fall ala Nightmare Moon.
Outlived all of her friends? Why would Twilight not have friends beyond Mane 6? We already know she does, and Spike, Cadance and Flurry would have lived as long as she. Discord as well if he was around. And there would be others like other dragons at least and she could always make new friends. It would not have been any suprised that her friends would age, Twilight doesn’t seem to have any anxiety that they had in the finale. It’s part of growing and becoming wiser to accept that others have different destinies but that “journey never ends” and you will always make new friends. Who knows if Luster Dawn became an alicorn for example.
My main issue with Twilight aside from motivation/characterization is that that the new character is clearly not voiced by Tara Strong, and I think she would've returned if this really was Twilight since she returned for ANG.
The thing about it being Flurry Heart is, would that actually be interesting or compelling? There wouldn't be a sense of "OMG, I can't believe this character turned bad!!!" She literally has never had a personality before. Other than "was a baby."
I hear many speculating that this new alicorn villain is connected to Twilight. Like one of her students/descendants who got corrupted and betrayed her. If that was the case, that would actually explain a lot about G5 Equestria. If Twilight and the other princesses fought this new villain and lost, that would explain why the ponies were separated again and the princesses couldn’t stop it: Without Twilight, the whole friendship utopia she built fell apart. Maybe this new villain even directly broke the ponies up.

I have a theory as to why the mystery alicorn had to wait for magic to be stabilized. G5 has confirmed what a lot of people suspected, that pegasi need magic to fly. There are a bunch of laws of biology and aerodynamics that say just grafting wings onto a horse isn't enough to let a horse fly. On a similar note there have been many (non-pony) fantasy writers who have posited that dragons cannot live outside of a high-magic environment because of all the laws of biology you have to break to have a dragon. Allowing something that size to fly swiftly and with agility? The fire breath? Maybe it is the same for alicorns? Maybe alicorns need the ambient magic field of a world to be above a certain level in order to override the laws of the universe to make a flying horse with the strength of a Clydesdale and the magic of an archmage possible? It would also explain why Sunny can only hang onto her Alicorn form for short bursts.
About the other unicorn in the room- if this was a potential "reformer" type of char that gets redeemed if she is with this Evil Alicorn, this unicorn could also complete the "2 unicorns, 2 Pegasi, and 2 earth ponies" set. And another thing, is it just me or does this shadow alicorn's design remind anyone else of the Alicorns from Fallout Equestria? I am just getting that feeling and this wouldn't be the first time the show was inspired by the fandom.
Shes for sure a crystal pony... I mean look at her. Her eyes look glossy, her eye shadow looks crystalline and her background has a crystal pattern on the windows as well. Also the smooth "branches" poking out of the ground remind me of the crystal empire. Or I could be completely wrong 🤔
The moment I learned of this alicorn's existence I realized that it disproves Sawtooth Waves' theory that says there's no longer enough magic to sustain full alicorns.
This sounds so cool! I loved the idea of Nightmare Moon back in the day, a vengeful goddess of darkness with untold evil powers, but they cut it short way too soon and didn’t do anything monstrous or scary with it. Didn’t make me afraid or excited. So this new chick may be a do-over, she clearly wants to hoard the massive magic of equestria all to herself, so it’s about time we got that ever-classic vain, entitled sorceress just like when we were little, and actually stretch her story out for a season or two, show how powerful and menacing she is and put the heroes through the ringer like mlp has never done before!
My head cannon is it’s a corrupted form of Twilight. I believe that Twilight started trying to find ways to keep her friends around. This would further explain the crystals, as someone likely created a relic to absorb all of the magic, keeping Twilight at bay, and then sent them to places to be guarded by representatives from each pony kind, but in the absence of Twilight and her friends, Equestria fell into disunity, with the three tribes mistrusting eachother.
Whoever this mysterious alicorn villain is? She's obviously going to have a big impact on the new series. I'm sure we'll find out more about her soon enough.

I like to think of the theory it's a corrupted Flurry Heart. If you look closer her horn looks curved and color faded. I know the comics aren't canon, why I say it's a theory, but Sombra was a umbrum turned unicorn, simplisticly speaking, and when Sombra turned evil and corrupted his horn curved and faded to red and his coat and mane/tail turned darker. What if somehow, somewhere in the many years before the events of the G5 movie Flurry Heart was corrupted by an Umbrum? It could explain the curved and color faded horn as well as the darker coat color and hair change. Again I know it's not really possible since Umbrum's are only in the comics just like Raditant Hope, but it is in an interesting theory 💙💙💙💙
Whoever this new Alicorn is Doc, all i'll say is i can't wait to find out her story and what kind of evil plans that she has in store for the Mane 5. and as for the Alicorns minion i wouldn't be surprised if she does end up going down the reformed villain road.

I have my own idea of who this alicorn is and her plan. She could be a former student of Twilight who was like past Sunset and took action to ensure she could be in control of Equestria, taking all the ponies' magic for herself, locking some away in the Harmony Crystals which were then separated to make sure she couldn't destroy the only magic the ponies had left. Her name (that I made up for her) is Moonlight Eclipse. Keep in mind, this is my head cannon so you can disagree if you'd like.
I hope the dark alicorn isn't sunny's mother, I am not a fan of character being part of a dynasty. For the unicorn I suspect that she might become the sixth element to the group and that she represent the dark side of the student/teach dynamic of the relationship between Twilight and Princess Celestia where Twilight was nearly unquestioningly loyal to her teacher/princess and would patently ignore or justify any bad things she did because she was Princess Celestia putting more important on to her status then who she really it; this is just ripe for abuse. I am willing to bet that she was for a long while the only unicorn who could perform magic, and unlike all the unicorn of the rest of Equestria she had a full education on how do to spells and not just levitate things in the air, she could probably teleport too a high feet for unicorn wizards.
We got a taste of "Midnight Sparkle" in Equestria girls, which is why I wouldn't be surprised if this gal is a corrupted Twilight. HOWEVER. It being a kid show, kid shows DO love the "villain is parent of protagonist" story bit, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if that Alicorn was Sunny's mother. ---- Hang on, just realized something. This Alicorn may NOT be Suny's mother; due to the implication of how long magic seems to have been gone from Equestria. I mean, I guess there could have been a massive age gap between Argyle and her but that's ehhhhhhhh something that could become super creepy super fast so I'm going to go with the idea that that's not the case. She could still be related in some way though. SORRY brain jumped onto another track again: I get the feeling this Alicorn is the real reason why magic was taken out in Equestria; Alicorn magic is VERY powerful, and without Twilight and the others, it could have simply been there just wasn't *anyone* at the time, who could defeat her. So the choice to sap all magic was painfully made, in the hopes that in the future, someday, some pony could do it. But so much time has passed, everyone just simply...forgot it all. It could be some variant of.... Alicorn villain is either descended from Twilight or comes from a (formally successful) line of Unicorn students who become Alicorns later; something happens, she becomes corrupt, and her three friends (maybe even children?) are the ones who took the chrystals and RAN. Passing them down. Dangit, I keep thinking of things. I'd start my own pony theory channel stuff but I don't have the time, weh.
Do you think we’ll see the terrible 3 again? Cozy, Tirek, and Chrysalis? Cause honestly, I could see this being a cozy glow that learned how to absorb magic from others by Tirek, then took Chrysalis power to become a full Alicorn in an attempt to fight twiglight. Twighlight had to seal her away but in the process had to cut off magic from the world to depower her.
I think the villains might be flurry heart or cadence, probabbly the former though the wings on the villian look more... crystallized so, they have to either be fake, or their from the crystal empire Alacorns are immortal form what we know so she might be flurry heart or cadence maybe after the lose of magic, Sombra came back as part of his horn WAS left, and was able to take control to save the empire, flurry assuming cadence had retired to a different state of being which, I mean like, I think once alicorns are ready they retire to what their core was, Celestia became the sun and Luna became the moon, etc so cadence became love or basically cupid, idk anyways, cadence is gone either by the theory I said or from some other way and flurry had to do something as the empire was becoming corrupt, and so she sacrificed herself in order to save the empire however by sacrificing herself, she took all the negative energy sombra had, becoming well the villain; and the empire that had been infected with the negative energy was unable to be healed and, so, they became the villains; maybe they where watching from the castle Or maybe they are a dependent, as we know you can be born as an alicorn if you have one as a parent so, she could be a descendant from flurry family, which would also make her related to shining armor and twilight, and if Sunny is also related to twilight...... family reunion, yayyyy Anyways, the negativity could've changed her color; or maybe it's twilight instead Maybe the wings are from twilight trying to help from the crystal empire from sombra instead; maybe after the hatred started after her friends died? And with all the negativity form the ponys friendship and sombra, she snapped However, she slowly got corrupted managing to split magic in a desperate attempt to stop the corruption and toxicity, but failed with the tribes splitting And she got corrupted, her mind now focused on power

She gived me the vibe of Queen Chrysalis, if you notice the horn so curve, made think of reformed version, still wonder the wings, looked like a Pegasus one, so looking forward of this villain, also the unicorn near she, Idk but I kinda like her so hope to see more too. The colors look like Radiant Hope... Does it look like the new comics are going to be linked to the show? Maybe they want to canonize the old comics in this new gen? But if it's Flurry heart, it would also be interesting.
To me, this could have lots of potential for many reasons, so the crystals may exist to make sure she couldn't use magic once her goal was acquired (at a terrible cost). As in they were created to stop her after she beat Twilight (though I had hoped for an armoured villain with magic-proof gear and anti-magic measures to nullify Twilights power). Maybe she wants to dimsmantle the crystals (which I hope she does to get rid of that macguffin) to ensure magic can run its natural course leaving her to do whatever she wants without hindrance. Also, on a side note, what do you think of the new videogame that launched yesterday? I got 100% in less than 2 hours. Too short for its price range to be honest.

I always noticed how at the very end of G4, Luster Dawn not only questioned twilight's teachings, but also never necessarily had a clear 'understanding' moment where all her questioning was taken back or where it showed that she no longer questioned those things. Perhaps it's a student of hers whom she failed to properly teach due to ignoring Twilight's teachings. I'd think it's Luster Dawn herself if the colors matched up more, but then again we've also seen that ponies colors can slightly shift when they 'turn evil' (Nightmare Moon, Sombra, Etc.) and the lighting is weird in that shot. Or perhaps a descendant of Cozy Glow, which could explain the curlier hair and (possible) color scheme
Sort of reminds me of an idea for an ultimate villain character I had in mind for MLP, at least with the colour scheme, Queen Mara however only resembles an alicorn while not actually being one she's more of an evil-infused mutated hybrid creature of Nightmare & Pony (and in her back story actually supposed to slightly predate the first-ever true alicorn who originally defeated her hence her hatred towards alicorns in particular as well hating often being mistaken for one) Mara most distinctive features are her three horns (two small horns a large central one), massive bat or dragon-like wings & how tall she towering over other tall ponies... Mara would 'love' to see another villain appear and she draws power from villainy, Antagony & things going wrong and would be amused by seeing the petty schemes of those who unknowingly serve her as she awaits the return to Pony Land (now Equestria)...
@@mohdghazali3473 I see what you mean and this unknown character might actually be Radiant Hope in some way (I wanted to make Mara a darker colour, almost black with a purple huge but I think people hated the colour, misunderstanding the concept of the character, they thought she looked too 'edgy' which wasn't my intent but she's supposed to have a 'scary' & creepy villain colour scheme that was different to other Ponies & characters when she's in her true form (she a sort of shapeshifter as one of her powers so she could more easily manipulate & corrupt others but not quite as good a shapeshifter as a Changling since her glowing red & green eyes almost always stay the same)
I've just had a thought since he's shown in the thumbnail for some of the Workaholics Anonymous. How come Firebrand hasn't had an episode to himself? I mean he must be working hard to keep up videos on both channels (FOB Equestria and Josh Scorcher) and trying to keep the royal guard alert and not letting anyone into the base.
I saw that one at the end of the special, My Little Pony: Make Your Mark, it looks like it's bad news. I'd say that shadow alicorn pony really looks like the most powerful villainess, I am not sure what's her name is. In my theory, she might return in the upcoming new tv show on Netflix, My Little Pony: Make Your Mark (2022 tv series) in September 2022.
I think that the alicorn once was a student of Twilight, when Twilight was close to Lunas and Celestias age or older , but once Twilight retired or died she showed her true colors then created the crystals to control the magic.
That is an interesting theory, Doc! But I have two theories. theory 1 I think she could be Twilight, but she got corrupted but if so, how did she get corrupted? theory 2 maybe this alicorn was an apprentice to Twilight but she was misguided and fell to the dark side and cause Twilight her downfall.
I subscribe to the Radiant theory but i tweak it a little bit The comics are not only just B-canon, Radiant's story in Siege of the Crystal Empire is retconned when Sombra stays evil in the show while the comic says he should have reformed already While this sounds like a counter to the radiant theory, I see something else. I think its not a direct transplant of radiant from the comics especially since their thing was retconned already. This could be a reimagined version. Because Sombra was never reformed, what if this is what happens to Radiant when she learns her friend from 1000+ years ago was blown up time and time again. And, even if it doesnt turn out to be radiant, i bet there was at least some inspiration. It would be fine too if she's a new character altogether. Heck because of radiant's obscurity even bringing her back would seem new to some.
I think it’s Twilight student after she got her wings she betrayed Twilight and tried to take over equestria but failed so Twilight put the magic and made three crystals and told her other student Luster Dawn to separate the crystals while diong so Luster meet Sunny’s dad and Luster died from birth but told her husband to make sure the Legacy of the mane 6 would carry on and that the crystals get puts in the right hands so That’s why Sunny’s Dad told her lots of stories of the mane 6
I like seeing a evil alicorn in this new generation but the thing that bugs me is her color scheme as you can see her color is dark purple and cyan it doesn't really match perfectly I know the scene is supposed to be dark but it's already obvious what is her color scheme mostly when it started to zoom in to her face the color scheme is really bad i hope they'll fix it in the new episode.
Two things I think twilight knew about the À la corn and sacrifice her self so all the Equestrian magic then did not fall into her hooves are it’s Sunny’s mother because maybe the Sunny’s dad married and Alcorn

Hopefully this character actually has a reason. In FiM, Luna was probably the best villian since she had a reason, all the others, they were evil because. Except Discord actually needs to be chaotic and Chrysalis never bothered to learn another way to feed her hive. Ik it was a design choice by the devs, but i wonder if theyll give a reason in story as to why everypony only has one cutie mark. Also, based on what she says, it seems this alicorn may be the reason magic disappeared in the first place.
i kinda hoped sprout would redeem and make number 6 ... but the new unicorn being number 6 makes more sense the original mane 6 had 2 pegasi, 2 earth ponies, 2 unicorns the current mane 5 has 2 pegasi, 2 earth ponies, and 1 unicorn and I think Izzy said once that it'd be nice to have a unicorn friend
I don’t know if anyone noticed, but in My Little Pony: A New Generation, during the scene where sunny is trying to figure out how to put the crystals together in her lighthouse, the table she uses is littered with illustrations. One of which shows a shocking resemblance to the illustrations of celestia and Luna at the beginning of G4. Except the depiction of Luna in the scene looks extremely similar to this new mysterious alicorn. And it’s not just Luna that looks different. It’s also the depiction of celestia, she looks almost exactly like G4, although her mane is green and not pink. Although this could be wrong, but it was worth to point out, because this new alicorn could be the G5 version of nightmare moon, or a descendant of Luna.
She’s definitely gonna be a redeemed character. More importantly however, it’s nice to see a character that is black coded without the subtle racism this time around

I think this new alicorn is a descendent of twilights teachings (not necessarily her child), kind of like how luster dawn was. And this descendant failed in her friendship role/princess duties, like how sunset shimmer didn’t understand friendship, or starlight at first, or even how cozy glow misunderstood friendship as power. I think this alicorn failed, and the kingdom suffered (or there was trouble in the kingdom that she failed to fix, like how the main six had to fix stuff in equestria every season, so trouble arises frequently). Friendship magic disappears and she just sits there, expecting them to figure it out for themselves and bring it back again. Generations pass, she’s forgotten, and waits. Now, the ponies brought magic back, as she expected, and she wants her crown, Recognition, and status back? Besides who the pony is, I might have an idea on where she's located. Seeing that she can watch Maretime Bay I can only assume that she's somewhere celestial. Like how would she be able to watch Maretime Bay without any pony noticing anything in the sky sitting dormant, watching? If anything, Where the pony is at is somewhere that might have to do with the star map thing back in mlp: A New Generation when sunny opens a book to show Maretime Bay, bridlewood and zephyr heights.
Radiant Heart looks like a safe bet, but I would still think it is a corrupted Twilight. How she could be corrupted is when her friends died. The grief would be too much for her to bare.
My theory Twilight lost all her friends to death was cause To drive her crazy taking a page out of psychology it could be possible that she lost control to all what she’s and Friends done i see it happened before.
I really wish they bring back Tirek, cozy glow, and Queen Chrysalis back. Since the 3 were frozen into a statue for who knows how long, they could be like that so that they can be introduced into G5, just a theory though

I really hope this new villain is a decendant of one of the former princesses or decendant of other princesses we haven't met before. I'm sure there were probably alicorns before Luna and Celsitia. I hope she isn't a corrupted Twilight or Flurry Heart. I feel like that would tarnish their stories. It would be cool of the new alicorn was a born alicorn. Or if she wasn't a corrupted alicorn and was always a bad person. So that it is shown that alicorns aren't as perfect as everyone seams to make them be. Also Hitch probably cant understand the dragon because he is a baby. Dragons were shown to speak a language similar to ponies. So the dragon probably just needs to learn how to speak.

This mysterious Alicorn sort of make me think of Nightmare Moon with the teal of Celestia. I think this Alicorn is a true Alicorn and is from the theorized tribe of natural Alicorns that some fans think Celestia and Luna are a part of and was originally going to be the successor to Twilight Sparkle but then the fighting among the three main groups of Ponies divided all of the Ponies and Equestria and she had to live hidden away in a long forgotten section of what was the Crystal Kingdom for generations.
She could be a failed student of either Twilight, Cadence or even Flurry. Much like Sunset was. Perhaps she became so corrupted by the power that the only way her mentor could stop her was by severing the connection between the three pony tribes via the crystals. Which is why she's had to lay dormant for so long.

I would like to point out the shape of her horn. That is the common shape of Saddle Arabian unicorn horn. This is peculiar in that she is not related to any of the previous antagonists or alicorns since none of them actually hailed from that particular location. It is also interesting to note that this might be another mystery of how an she achieved alicorn hood. Either she has to be a descendant of previous alicorn royalty or earned it in a event that defined her title of Princess of (Friendship, Love, Moon, Sun, Evil, etc...). So either Twilight or Flurry heart came to love a Saddle Arabian colt. Or she proved her proficiency at something.
Edit: I only now realize that there is no official name for Mistmane's home. I don't think Rockhoof's home has one either.

Unicorns from Neighpon also have a curved horn. Mistmane has a curved horn and she's from neighpon. Of course King Sombra also had a curved horn and we don't know his origin(yes I know what the comic says, but it's non-canon).
I think the unicorn next to the alicorn will likely get reformed, that way the series can go back to the same M.O. that FiM had; two ponies for each species.

I've been trying to decipher the unicorn's body language. She seems slightly curious and/or apprehensive, and trying not to show too much emotion. Kind of reminds me of Coco Pommel. Maybe she's the same type of sidekick, who does as she's told but knows it's wrong, as opposed to a Dragon type like Tempest Shadow. I wonder how she got into that situation.

Hmmcould be, though the pattern on the floor is more reminiscent of Canterlot after the movie re-design. Though if it is the Crystal Empire, then maybe she wants to use the magic to reclaim the Crystal Empire? That should be frozen without magic.

Aside from Purple Snooty's relationship (if any) to the G4 characters and to Sunny, I'm also wondering a couple of things:
- What was she doing until now? Was she just sitting there for centuries waiting for magic to come back, or was she frozen in time somehow while magic was gone? Was her magic gone too?
- Does she have anything to do with Hitch finding the dragon egg? Was that phone call meant to lure him to the beach so he would find it?
- What are her powers? We see her observing Maretime Bay from a high point (which is not the brighthouse, I compared with the view from the balcony earlier). Why can she see from that point specifically? What else can she see?
We probably won't find answers to any of these questions until the series actually starts, but it's fun to speculate.
I'm seconding the name Purple Snooty, it's the first I've seen it and I love it
this new alicorn is interesting, she may have a snooty attitude, but she might also have clues as to why magic suddenly dissipated and their are many theories to it already. This new character however brought a new piece to the theory table and that she might be responsible for Equestrias downfall and Twilight's disappearance. Originally i code-named her via dossier file code-named Velvet-shadow, but snooty pony works just as well too.
As for the background, the throne she has, resembles an antiant elven design, to the side just above the other unicorn i could almost make out a banner. the widow pains and tree branches have a woodland nature vibe, cluing that she might be in a forested area. Her horn though is quit unique for an alicorn, being that its curved we've seen this before with Mistmane.
Yeah I definitely haven't really thought much about them bringing back the elements, but considering that we know g4 is canon to g5, it makes me wonder if we might see some other artifacts from g4. Maybe the mystery alicorn got their hands on Grogar's Bell and it had some left over magic, allowing her to become an alicorn.

Thoughts off the top of my head...
There is something that I did notice about this alicorn... and that is the shape of her horn. I could be going out on a limb here, but the alicorn appears to have, what I would call an "old style" horn. If you remember from the G4 era, when ancient unicorns were mentioned, at least, what I saw and can remember, Ancient Unicorns had a curved, blade-like horn (prominently appearing in the backstory for Mistmane). Though this might also be like a sub-species or the genetic predecessor of Unicorn since it seems Starswirl's horn is straight rather than curved. If that is the case, then this alicorn could have been from that same time period. From what I remember (though it could have been in passing theory), Celestia and Luna were made INTO alicorns, and I think it is also a theory that Starswirl had something to do with that process. What if THIS alicorn was part of his early experiments in making Alicorns? if that is the case, he might have started with a Unicorn, but in the process either her wings don't work, or her magic was shorted out, making it extremely weak, or unusable, and maybe even causing her to be sealed away due to her wanting vengeance for turning her into this unusable form. It could be a strong reason to "take back what is mine" since she was denied it after her new form didn't live up to the hype. Either that, or what Starswirl ended up creating was something like Lore and Data from Star Trek: TNG... This Alicorn could have been so ridiculously powerful that it corrupted her, and Starswirl found a way to take away her power, since Grogar's Bell was missing at that point... i think... and sealed her away. But whenever and for whatever reason magic disappeared from the world, the spell sealing her away could have ended, and she was set free. But with magic gone, she might have even had a hand in planting the seeds and breadcrumbs for Argyle and eventually Sunny to bring Magic back in a stable form, and now that it is, she wants what is "rightfully hers".

after the lost of her friends and years gone by even her friends off sprigs would soon fade into field of everyday ponies every pony would eventually see her at the ruler like pony saw Celestia. What about spike and Cadence, cadence did not have the Divine look about her she had royalty look and the sam could be said with flurry heart. Twilight is the only alicorn that her main and tail did that wave likeness as Celeste has and Luna. My guess is that they where gifted with that divine power letting them live forever and some how gifted twilight with it make Celestia and luna normal alicorns. And doing so they to pass away. And as fir spike the movie hints tords that equestria back then was a tall tale a story longer then legends so that means spike would be long gone as well even his descendants would be gone to. This would leve twilight with out the elements of harmony and any way in protecting Equestria. Yeah i know she has her powers but during the show she ran into villains that where stronger then her thats why she need her friend. So when a new villains stronger than her showed and with out no new friendship she probably turned the Crystal Clubhouse you know the one in the show to make the three crystals we see today in generation 5 but instead of harnessing the elemental of magic it took magic Away or absorbed the magic from Equestria. but as long as the crystals were together and the ponies of Equestria were friends and work together the power would have stayed in Equestria. But as time went on the ponies separated to their own Nation to there own kind making friendship in Equestria disappear as well as the Magic Twilight sceneing this separated the crystals and gave it to the leaders of each Nation hoping that one day they will come together and bring the crystals together to make one nation again and to bring back the magic but in time those crystals themselves became Legends and forgotten. this would mean not just thousands but hundreds of thousands of years have gone by and Twilight being the celestial being she is saw all that happen. All the hatred the pain wars that she saw in Equestria over centuries hardened her heart to make her her version of Nightmare Moon the villain that I believe she might be in generation 5. So yeah that my take on it what you think?

The only thing that makes me think that it isn't Twilight is the shape of her horn since it's curved and blade-like. Unless she used some kind of targeted form altering magic, which does exist, I'm not sure she would want to tamper with the thing that would allow her to use magic in the first place. Another thing that comes to mind from G4 was that Mistmane and (at least what was shown in backstory) Gusty the Great also had the magical flowing manes and tails and as far as I know, didn't become alicorns at all. So maybe a flowing mane is moreso akin to a status symbol?

A thought just hit me... what if she is like... a descendant of Chrysalis? If she is, then she could be a changeling in disguise, since it is hinted, or at least insinuated that changeling magic and pony magic are two VERY different things, since it was the only thing that would would around the main hive in the episode "To Where and Back".
Or heck, what she is a descendant of Ocellus? from what it looked like, all the reformed changelings were basically mini-alicorns (albeit with the insect motif). And the reformed changelings DID have curved blade-like horns, so maybe Ocellus after a while decided to settle down with a pony? She was surrounded by them for a long while at the school, could take the form of one, and was both a student and as a staff member it looked like a the end of G4. And if that would be the case, that offspring might have some traits of both parents, and then continuing down the lines might further and further dilute the Changeling bloodline, but never fully erase it. And since it seems now that Ponies are the only race that exists, or is at least shown, perhaps those physical traits hung around in this Alicorn with Pony overtones since the Changeling traits would have been "bred out" so to speak. She does have a mane color scheme similar to Ocellus's overall color pallet.
If there are six elements of harmony, they won't be Loyalty/Kindness/Honestly/Laughter/Generosity/Magic: they've already told us that:
Sunny=Hope
Izzy=Creativity
Pipp=Confidence
Zipp=Courage
Hitch=Kindness
Of course, the Pillars' virtues morphed over time into the Mane Six's virtues, so it wouldn't be that big a stretch for the Elements of Harmony to morph again between G-4 and G-5.
If the unicorn does reform and join them, she could be the Element of Forgiveness.

The minion really seems like the best best because as we have discussed Izzy did have 6 cups for 6 future friends in her house during the movie and this character will fill the two of each race kind of thing. So we'll have two unicorns in the main cast!
I know I'm thinking way to far into this, but the villain has a curved horn which makes me think they may have been apart of or a descendent of the Mistmane's Tale. Also she seems to have been around before magic disappeared and may have been the reason it was sealed away.
Her horn also reminds me of Sombra, where it is curved and goes from one color down to skin color.
Plus the subtitles called her ‘alicorn’.

I too thought she may be Sunny's mother. Once she appeared, my jaw dropped at the huge mysteries and potential something like this has. I would like to get some characterization from that Unicorn, perhaps she could be a bit like Thorax was to Chrysalis's ways. Overall like I said so many possibilities they can run with this.

I'm not sure.. She looks nothing like Sunny, and Argyle doesn't fill in the gaps. Of course, pony genetics isn't just 1:1 stuff.. But if we compare to G4 parents and children...
Twilight, Shining Armor, and their parents all look similar.
The parents have a grey coat, blue-ish mint eyes, and purple and purple and white striped mane (mother), blue coat, gold eyes, and darker blue mane.
Shining has a white coat, blue-mint eyes, and a darker blue mane with a lighter blue stripe (like the mother's white stripe) .
Twilight has a purple coat, purple eyes, and a deep blue mane, with a purple and pink stripe. The purple eyes are somewhat out of nowhere, but purple was in the parent pair so oh well.
You can also look at other parents and see similar patterns. It's not like "mom has red coat, dad has white coat, baby MUST have either pink coat, red, or white" but there's a general comparative nature between the parents and kids in mlp.
Argyle is all blue and purple, cool tones. Meaning that Sunny's mother probably gave her the warm tones, we could assume her mother had some reds and pinks. OR Sunny is adopted/not genetically Argyle's kid. Or just crazy genetics, like Pinkie Pie's parents making a bright pink pony despite them being grey, and dark mustard colored coats, and dark green and grey manes...
This mystery alicorn is a deep purple with minty hair, even if we assume nightmare moon-magic got to her, Luna is also still a deep blue in her normal form. Similarly, I don't think she's flurry heart because the mane is just too far off. It just doesn't look right...
This alicorn is likely a totally new character. Based on colors, she looks more like she could actually be Hitch's mom (mint hair) or even Izzie's... Maybe I'm just biased because the whole "I am your [relative]" feels too cheesy as a villain trope...

To be fair, Loyalty is an element that is easy for the Darkside to abuse. Anyone here remember Ronin Warriors? One of the 'Elements' of the armors was specifically that, and the bad guys used the person who wore it for their own purposes.
Flurryheart is a child, so as an adult it’s quite possible. The higher they are the longer the fall.

Even if the comics aren't canon to the show, characters in the comic can still exist in the show... After all, Twilight exists in the comic.

I do not know what to think of this character on who she is. But I am so excited to see who it is and what she will do in the series. talking about the villain, how she talks, looks and act like, i think, and i come to this conclusion because of hints we got, she might be an ancestor of king sombra himself. since we dont have that much backstory of him (leaving the comics about him aside), he might had a son or a daughter, that lived onwards after he actually died or got again banished, or even never returned after season 9 from G4.

And as fir spike the movie hints tords that equestria back then was a tall tale a story longer then legends so that means spike would be long gone as well even his descendants would be gone to. This would leve twilight with out the elements of harmony and any way in protecting Equestria. Yeah i know she has her powers but during the show she ran into villains that where stronger then her thats why she need her friend. So when a new villains stronger than her showed and with out no new friendship she probably turned the Crystal Clubhouse you know the one in the show to make the three crystals we see today in generation 5 but instead of harnessing the elemental of magic it took magic Away or absorbed the magic from Equestria. but as long as the crystals were together and the ponies of Equestria were friends and work together the power would have stayed in Equestria. I don't believe Sunny is related to an existing alicorn. The Cristals must be acting as a cork for magic when the tantion raises between the 3 kinds of ponies so the windagos don't detect it. It wasn't perfect tho. The windagos found them. That's where the storm came from. I believe if the Cristals were destroyed, the ponies would get all their magic back with or without harmony

I do not believe Alcorns live forever, Celestia was probably above 1,500 years old or so when she stepped down as queen, and that was too old. She was getting weeker, too week to protect Equestria. Nightmare Moon defeated her, Queen Crystals defeated her, Discord defeated her (he wasn't even trying). The elements of harmony aren't as they were. The new main 6 turned the tree of harmony into a treehouse. If that was twilight, why would she sit back and wait for them to figure everything out?

Some have suggested that this new villain could be Twilight Sparkle, but I support the competing theory that she is corrupted Flurry Heart in her nightmare form. Just look at her curly mane style and her eye color. And, in addition, the building whose wall appears in the background is reminiscent of the architecture of the old Crystal Empire (of course it can also be a coincidence). But as long as no names are officially confirmed, these are just theories and speculations.
But if she’s Flurry Heart, who is sometimes referred to as the "Princess of the Merchandise", then it would be ironically funny and self-critical because then we would have the “Princess of the Merchandise” who would be corrupted into evil.
Her mother was more Princess of merchandise. Hasbro wanted a new pink Princess to sell. Flurry was stated by creators to be their idea and Hasbro was pleasantly surprised when told of her.
It could be a slightly insane twilight, after the loss of all of her friends, loss of magic, and loss of her kingdom its not too far of a stretch to think that she may have slowly lost it. A few hundred years of isolation even if self imposed would drive any pony mad.

Honestly, I could make a case for either Twilight or Flurry still.
Twilight: She's the Princess of Friendship, and yet _she outlived all of her friends._ I actually demonstrated via improv acting for my wife how Twilight going insane and turning evil after losing her friends is a likely scenario, just based on what we know about her.
Flurry Heart: You said that you can't see Flurry going that route, but... we don't know anything _about_ Flurry Heart. She was a baby still at the end of the show proper, and while we know that she became an important figure in Equestria during The Last Problem, we never saw Flurry Heart directly. For all we know, she could have grown up to be a stuck up brat, or again, something happened that led to an Alicorn Fall ala Nightmare Moon.
Outlived all of her friends? Why would Twilight not have friends beyond Mane 6? We already know she does, and Spike, Cadance and Flurry would have lived as long as she. Discord as well if he was around. And there would be others like other dragons at least and she could always make new friends. It would not have been any suprised that her friends would age, Twilight doesn’t seem to have any anxiety that they had in the finale. It’s part of growing and becoming wiser to accept that others have different destinies but that “journey never ends” and you will always make new friends. Who knows if Luster Dawn became an alicorn for example.
My main issue with Twilight aside from motivation/characterization is that that the new character is clearly not voiced by Tara Strong, and I think she would've returned if this really was Twilight since she returned for ANG.

The thing about it being Flurry Heart is, would that actually be interesting or compelling? There wouldn't be a sense of "OMG, I can't believe this character turned bad!!!" She literally has never had a personality before. Other than "was a baby."

I hear many speculating that this new alicorn villain is connected to Twilight. Like one of her students/descendants who got corrupted and betrayed her. If that was the case, that would actually explain a lot about G5 Equestria. If Twilight and the other princesses fought this new villain and lost, that would explain why the ponies were separated again and the princesses couldn’t stop it: Without Twilight, the whole friendship utopia she built fell apart. Maybe this new villain even directly broke the ponies up.

I have a theory as to why the mystery alicorn had to wait for magic to be stabilized.
G5 has confirmed what a lot of people suspected, that pegasi need magic to fly. There are a bunch of laws of biology and aerodynamics that say just grafting wings onto a horse isn't enough to let a horse fly.
On a similar note there have been many (non-pony) fantasy writers who have posited that dragons cannot live outside of a high-magic environment because of all the laws of biology you have to break to have a dragon. Allowing something that size to fly swiftly and with agility? The fire breath?
Maybe it is the same for alicorns? Maybe alicorns need the ambient magic field of a world to be above a certain level in order to override the laws of the universe to make a flying horse with the strength of a Clydesdale and the magic of an archmage possible? It would also explain why Sunny can only hang onto her Alicorn form for short bursts.
About the other unicorn in the room- if this was a potential "reformer" type of char that gets redeemed if she is with this Evil Alicorn, this unicorn could also complete the "2 unicorns, 2 Pegasi, and 2 earth ponies" set.
And another thing, is it just me or does this shadow alicorn's design remind anyone else of the Alicorns from Fallout Equestria? I am just getting that feeling and this wouldn't be the first time the show was inspired by the fandom.

I loved the idea of Nightmare Moon back in the day, a vengeful goddess of darkness with untold evil powers, but they cut it short way too soon and didn’t do anything monstrous or scary with it. Didn’t make me afraid or excited. So this new chick may be a do-over, she clearly wants to hoard the massive magic of equestria all to herself, so it’s about time we got that ever-classic vain, entitled sorceress just like when we were little, and actually stretch her story out for a season or two, show how powerful and menacing she is and put the heroes through the ringer like mlp has never done before!
My head cannon is it’s a corrupted form of Twilight. I believe that Twilight started trying to find ways to keep her friends around. This would further explain the crystals, as someone likely created a relic to absorb all of the magic, keeping Twilight at bay, and then sent them to places to be guarded by representatives from each pony kind, but in the absence of Twilight and her friends, Equestria fell into disunity, with the three tribes mistrusting eachother.

I like to think of the theory it's a corrupted Flurry Heart. If you look closer her horn looks curved and color faded. I know the comics aren't canon, why I say it's a theory, but Sombra was a umbrum turned unicorn, simplisticly speaking, and when Sombra turned evil and corrupted his horn curved and faded to red and his coat and mane/tail turned darker. What if somehow, somewhere in the many years before the events of the G5 movie Flurry Heart was corrupted by an Umbrum? It could explain the curved and color faded horn as well as the darker coat color and hair change. Again I know it's not really possible since Umbrum's are only in the comics just like Raditant Hope, but it is in an interesting theory 💙💙💙💙

No, they are. Multiple sources cite them as completely canon unless contradicted, and certain storylines are just straight-up said to be canon under all circumstances.
I have my own idea of who this alicorn is and her plan. She could be a former student of Twilight who was like past Sunset and took action to ensure she could be in control of Equestria, taking all the ponies' magic for herself, locking some away in the Harmony Crystals which were then separated to make sure she couldn't destroy the only magic the ponies had left. Her name (that I made up for her) is Moonlight Eclipse. Keep in mind, this is my head cannon so you can disagree if you'd like.
I hope the dark alicorn isn't sunny's mother, I am not a fan of character being part of a dynasty. For the unicorn I suspect that she might become the sixth element to the group and that she represent the dark side of the student/teach dynamic of the relationship between Twilight and Princess Celestia where Twilight was nearly unquestioningly loyal to her teacher/princess and would patently ignore or justify any bad things she did because she was Princess Celestia putting more important on to her status then who she really it; this is just ripe for abuse. I am willing to bet that she was for a long while the only unicorn who could perform magic, and unlike all the unicorn of the rest of Equestria she had a full education on how do to spells and not just levitate things in the air, she could probably teleport too a high feet for unicorn wizards.
We got a taste of "Midnight Sparkle" in Equestria girls, which is why I wouldn't be surprised if this gal is a corrupted Twilight. HOWEVER.

This Alicorn may NOT be Suny's mother; due to the implication of how long magic seems to have been gone from Equestria. I mean, I guess there could have been a massive age gap between Argyle and her but that's ehhhhhhhh something that could become super creepy super fast so I'm going to go with the idea that that's not the case. She could still be related in some way though.
SORRY brain jumped onto another track again: I get the feeling this Alicorn is the real reason why magic was taken out in Equestria; Alicorn magic is VERY powerful, and without Twilight and the others, it could have simply been there just wasn't *anyone* at the time, who could defeat her. So the choice to sap all magic was painfully made, in the hopes that in the future, someday, some pony could do it. But so much time has passed, everyone just simply...forgot it all.
It could be some variant of.... Alicorn villain is either descended from Twilight or comes from a (formally successful) line of Unicorn students who become Alicorns later; something happens, she becomes corrupt, and her three friends (maybe even children?) are the ones who took the chrystals and RAN. Passing them down.

Cause honestly, I could see this being a cozy glow that learned how to absorb magic from others by Tirek, then took Chrysalis power to become a full Alicorn in an attempt to fight twiglight. Twighlight had to seal her away but in the process had to cut off magic from the world to depower her.

To me, this could have lots of potential for many reasons, so the crystals may exist to make sure she couldn't use magic once her goal was acquired (at a terrible cost). As in they were created to stop her after she beat Twilight (though I had hoped for an armoured villain with magic-proof gear and anti-magic measures to nullify Twilights power).
Maybe she wants to dimsmantle the crystals (which I hope she does to get rid of that macguffin) to ensure magic can run its natural course leaving her to do whatever she wants without hindrance.
Also, on a side note, what do you think of the new videogame that launched yesterday? I got 100% in less than 2 hours. Too short for its price range to be honest.

In G4 the Mane 6 were 2 unicorns 2 Pegasus and 2 earth ponies in g5 we're missing a unicorn which would mean that the alicorns minion that is a unicorn could actually be the 6th main character!
i’m gonna make a wild guess and say that the new villain is connected to literally nothing from G4. I just can’t see her fitting into anything big just yet and i feel like the show’s creators aren’t ready to drop a villain linked too heavily to the past yet.

My guess is that they where gifted with that divine power letting them live forever and some how gifted twilight with it make Celestia and luna normal alicorns. And doing so they to pass away. And as fir spike the movie hints tords that equestria back then was a tall tale a story longer then legends so that means spike would be long gone as well even his descendants would be gone to. This would leve twilight with out the elements of harmony and any way in protecting Equestria. Yeah i know she has her powers but during the show she ran into villains that where stronger then her thats why she need her friend. So when a new villains stronger than her showed and with out no new friendship she probably turned the Crystal Clubhouse you know the one in the show to make the three crystals we see today in generation 5 but instead of harnessing the elemental of magic it took magic Away or absorbed the magic from Equestria. but as long as the crystals were together and the ponies of Equestria were friends and work together the power would have stayed in Equestria. But as time went on the ponies separated to their own Nation to there own kind making friendship in Equestria disappear as well as the Magic Twilight sceneing this separated the crystals and gave it to the leaders of each Nation hoping that one day they will come together and bring the crystals together to make one nation again and to bring back the magic but in time those crystals themselves became Legends and forgotten. this would mean not just thousands but hundreds of thousands of years have gone by and Twilight being the celestial being she is saw all that happen. All the hatred the pain wars that she saw in Equestria over centuries hardened her heart to make her her version of Nightmare Moon the villain that I believe she might be in generation 5. So yeah that my take on it what you think?
I always noticed how at the very end of G4, Luster Dawn not only questioned twilight's teachings, but also never necessarily had a clear 'understanding' moment where all her questioning was taken back or where it showed that she no longer questioned those things. Perhaps it's a student of hers whom she failed to properly teach due to ignoring Twilight's teachings. I'd think it's Luster Dawn herself if the colors matched up more, but then again we've also seen that ponies colors can slightly shift when they 'turn evil' (Nightmare Moon, Sombra, Etc.) and the lighting is weird in that shot. Or perhaps a descendant of Cozy Glow, which could explain the curlier hair and (possible) color scheme

Sort of reminds me of an idea for an ultimate villain character I had in mind for MLP, at least with the colour scheme, Queen Mara however only resembles an alicorn while not actually being one she's more of an evil-infused mutated hybrid creature of Nightmare & Pony (and in her back story actually supposed to slightly predate the first-ever true alicorn who originally defeated her hence her hatred towards alicorns in particular as well hating often being mistaken for one) Mara most distinctive features are her three horns (two small horns a large central one), massive bat or dragon-like wings & how tall she towering over other tall ponies... Mara would 'love' to see another villain appear and she draws power from villainy, Antagony & things going wrong and would be amused by seeing the petty schemes of those who unknowingly serve her as she awaits the return to Pony Land (now Equestria)...

@@mohdghazali3473 I see what you mean and this unknown character might actually be Radiant Hope in some way (I wanted to make Mara a darker colour, almost black with a purple huge but I think people hated the colour, misunderstanding the concept of the character, they thought she looked too 'edgy' which wasn't my intent but she's supposed to have a 'scary' & creepy villain colour scheme that was different to other Ponies & characters when she's in her true form (she a sort of shapeshifter as one of her powers so she could more easily manipulate & corrupt others but not quite as good a shapeshifter as a Changling since her glowing red & green eyes almost always stay the same)
I like the Radiant Hope theory, though her being a comic-exclusive character makes it unlikely to become canon. :shrugs:
I've just had a thought since he's shown in the thumbnail for some of the Workaholics Anonymous. How come Firebrand hasn't had an episode to himself? I mean he must be working hard to keep up videos on both channels (FOB Equestria and Josh Scorcher) and trying to keep the royal guard alert and not letting anyone into the base.

I'd say that shadow alicorn pony really looks like the most powerful villainess, I am not sure what's her name is. In my theory, she might return in the upcoming new tv show on Netflix, My Little Pony: Make Your Mark (2022 tv series) in September 2022.
I think that the alicorn once was a student of Twilight, when Twilight was close to Lunas and Celestias age or older , but once Twilight retired or died she showed her true colors then created the crystals to control the magic.
That is an interesting theory, Doc! But I have two theories.
theory 1 I think she could be Twilight, but she got corrupted but if so, how did she get corrupted?
theory 2 maybe this alicorn was an apprentice to Twilight but she was misguided and fell to the dark side and cause Twilight her downfall.

The comics are not only just B-canon, Radiant's story in Siege of the Crystal Empire is retconned when Sombra stays evil in the show while the comic says he should have reformed already
While this sounds like a counter to the radiant theory, I see something else.
I think its not a direct transplant of radiant from the comics especially since their thing was retconned already. This could be a reimagined version. Because Sombra was never reformed, what if this is what happens to Radiant when she learns her friend from 1000+ years ago was blown up time and time again.
And, even if it doesnt turn out to be radiant, i bet there was at least some inspiration. It would be fine too if she's a new character altogether. Heck because of radiant's obscurity even bringing her back would seem new to some.

I think it’s Twilight student after she got her wings she betrayed Twilight and tried to take over equestria but failed so Twilight put the magic and made three crystals and told her other student Luster Dawn to separate the crystals while diong so Luster meet Sunny’s dad and Luster died from birth but told her husband to make sure the Legacy of the mane 6 would carry on and that the crystals get puts in the right hands so That’s why Sunny’s Dad told her lots of stories of the mane 6
I like seeing a evil alicorn in this new generation but the thing that bugs me is
her color scheme as you can see her color is dark purple and cyan it doesn't really match perfectly

Hopefully this character actually has a reason. In FiM, Luna was probably the best villian since she had a reason, all the others, they were evil because. Except Discord actually needs to be chaotic and Chrysalis never bothered to learn another way to feed her hive. Ik it was a design choice by the devs, but i wonder if theyll give a reason in story as to why everypony only has one cutie mark. Also, based on what she says, it seems this alicorn may be the reason magic disappeared in the first place.

I don’t know if anyone noticed, but in My Little Pony: A New Generation, during the scene where sunny is trying to figure out how to put the crystals together in her lighthouse, the table she uses is littered with illustrations. One of which shows a shocking resemblance to the illustrations of celestia and Luna at the beginning of G4. Except the depiction of Luna in the scene looks extremely similar to this new mysterious alicorn. And it’s not just Luna that looks different. It’s also the depiction of celestia, she looks almost exactly like G4, although her mane is green and not pink. Although this could be wrong, but it was worth to point out, because this new alicorn could be the G5 version of nightmare moon, or a descendant of Luna.
She’s definitely gonna be a redeemed character. More importantly however, it’s nice to see a character that is black coded without the subtle racism this time around

I was hype to finally have a villain, but her being an alicorn made me even more interested and curious about her and her goal! i can't wait to see what hasbro has in store for us!
my first thought on the unicorn in the scene was that she was an attendant of some kind. implying that the alicorn was a ruler.
I think this new alicorn is a descendent of twilights teachings (not necessarily her child), kind of like how luster dawn was. And this descendant failed in her friendship role/princess duties, like how sunset shimmer didn’t understand friendship, or starlight at first, or even how cozy glow misunderstood friendship as power. I think this alicorn failed, and the kingdom suffered (or there was trouble in the kingdom that she failed to fix, like how the main six had to fix stuff in equestria every season, so trouble arises frequently). Friendship magic disappears and she just sits there, expecting them to figure it out for themselves and bring it back again. Generations pass, she’s forgotten, and waits. Now, the ponies brought magic back, as she expected, and she wants her crown, Recognition, and status back? Or ownership of the crystals (and thus ownership/control of everypony’s magic, bc everyone hasn’t subscribed to the fact that the magic comes from their friendship and not some crystals.) So this alicorn wants control of everyone’s magic, and to regain her ‘Queenship’, like a misinformed strarlight or sunset shimmer?

Well I think the idea of her being some kind of grown up and powered up cozy glow is a theory being passed around too.
Besides who the pony is, I might have an idea on where she's located. Seeing that she can watch Maretime Bay I can only assume that she's somewhere celestial. Like how would she be able to watch Maretime Bay without any pony noticing anything in the sky sitting dormant, watching? If anything, Where the pony is at is somewhere that might have to do with the star map thing back in mlp: A New Generation when sunny opens a book to show Maretime Bay, bridlewood and zephyr heights.

Radiant Heart looks like a safe bet, but I would still think it is a corrupted Twilight. How she could be corrupted is when her friends died. The grief would be too much for her to bare.

I really wish they bring back Tirek, cozy glow, and Queen Chrysalis back. Since the 3 were frozen into a statue for who knows how long, they could be like that so that they can be introduced into G5, just a theory though

I really hope this new villain is a decendant of one of the former princesses or decendant of other princesses we haven't met before. I'm sure there were probably alicorns before Luna and Celsitia. I hope she isn't a corrupted Twilight or Flurry Heart. I feel like that would tarnish their stories. It would be cool of the new alicorn was a born alicorn. Or if she wasn't a corrupted alicorn and was always a bad person. So that it is shown that alicorns aren't as perfect as everyone seams to make them be.
Also Hitch probably cant understand the dragon because he is a baby. Dragons were shown to speak a language similar to ponies. So the dragon probably just needs to learn how to speak.
Also, maybe the unicorn is Sunny's mother.

This mysterious Alicorn sort of make me think of Nightmare Moon with the teal of Celestia. I think this Alicorn is a true Alicorn and is from the theorized tribe of natural Alicorns that some fans think Celestia and Luna are a part of and was originally going to be the successor to Twilight Sparkle but then the fighting among the three main groups of Ponies divided all of the Ponies and Equestria and she had to live hidden away in a long forgotten section of what was the Crystal Kingdom for generations.
