BMWs have always been more of a spirited drivers car then the Mercedes Benzs. That might be changing as of late but I find that their motto, "the ultimate driving machine" so nostalgic. Just seems like it was yesterday when BMW introduced their premium flagship 750il V12 back in 1988. I was just a teenager in high school but I can remember seeing them on the road in my small New England town looking so regal. I miss those cars so much.
Li indicates that it is a long wheelbase car with a petrol engine. There is also a Ld variant that indicates a long wheelbase car with a diesel engine. Without the L in the model number ie 740i or 740d it indicates a short wheelbase car and either petrol or diesel engine.
