      I got around to working on the shirt last night and found that the hotfix tape stuck pretty badly to the contact paper making the process difficult. So I am now working on a solution:) Will have the full video sometime in the next few days. The problem I had with it last night slowed me down a bit. I will be talking about the problem I had and what I have done to find the solution (at least I hope it ends up being a good solution:) Thank you for watching!!!

    Miss Marilyn, I just received an order of ss10 rhinestones which are great, but the flat backs are shiny. Do all ss10 rhinestones already have the adhesive on them or to I need to apply it first. Which glue should I use if I need to. Please and thank you.

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  Рік тому +1

      There are two types of stones with flat backs. One is actually called "flat backs" and they do not have adhesive on them. They are typically used for hard surfaces such as tumblers, fingernails, or even leather shoes. The stones used for fabric are called "hot fix" rhinestones. If you are looking to put them on fabric with a heat source, you will need the hot fix type.

    How thick was this cardstock i would like to try this

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  11 місяців тому

      I found a glitter cardstock that worked much better than this one. With this cardstock, the transfer tape you use to move your stones would not release from it very well. Here is some 250 gsm glitter cardstock (the type that doesn't shed) that works better. I typically just use the actual flock now, but the glitter cardstock works okay. amzn.to/490q59f

    hi..i want to knw to make using cardstock need to used rotary blade or can used auto blade?

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  Рік тому

      I use the fine point blade on my Cricut. If you use a Silhouette, you would have to do some small circle test cuts to see what works for you because I don't have a Silhouette cutting machine. But I do not think you would use a rotary blade on these tiny circles. Thanks for watching.

  • @MakingwithMarilyn
    @MakingwithMarilyn  11 місяців тому

    I would definitely use glitter cardstock (the type that doesn't shed) over this Kraft cardstock. The glitter cardstock released the transfer tape that you have to use to transfer the rhinestones much much better than this uncoated cardstock. Here is a link to what I prefer and it is 250 gsm. amzn.to/490q59f

    What gsm cardstock?

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  2 роки тому

      I ended up finding that this cardstock was not coated, so the hotfix transfer tape was sticking to it and parts of it were pulling up. So, I ended up using this glitter cardstock instead and it works great. amzn.to/3zgeNyz
