Hello my beautiful friend, So glad that I was able to watch your video this morning. Very nice, You are amazing and I am such a huge fan from Florida. I love your channel
Hey!!! Good job!!! I am not sure if you know this, I have not watched the entire video (it is late), but on your transform tab you can space a set of stones that you have selected. And the 2nd tab in the transform section allows you to resize ungrouped objects. I LOVE playing with Business Edition!!! I look forward to watching your work!!! Take care. Always good to see you!!! Blessings and Re Jouir -Darlene p,s, The Rhinestone World offers rhinestone fonts for all sizes of fonts and stones!!! :) !
I definitely need to check out the features you talked about. I have only had my software a very short time and am still learning about the rhinestone features. Thank you very much for sharing about them!!!
@@MakingwithMarilyn I am pleased that I might have helped! I just got back! Been cutting flock and vinyl ALL DAY!!! I like working with nodes. I have learned a lot!!! And I LOVE Learning!!! Thank you for your kind note! -Darlene
I just can't thank you enough for making this video!! I am new to rhinestones, too, and have so many things I want to make but have no idea where to begin. This is exactly what I needed!! Your shirt turned out amazing! Wear it with pride!
Nice job! Love creating rhinestone designs. I started out using a tray and sometime will still use for smaller designs. I mostly will use a flat surface, and that way you have greater flexibility for placing the transfer tape and hinge method will allow you more control. Simply place the transfer tape about an inch away from design(top/side) then slowly lower over rhinestones and press immediately to prevent any shifting...Hesitancy is not your friend for this step. Lol
Great information! I hadn't thought about the lip of the tray being a bit in the way for larger designs. I will try it on my large craft mat next time:) It will take awhile, but I am determined to become proficient because I am loving the bling so far! Thanks for watching.
Hello again I'm new to this and I have purchased the Joy and Cricut explore air 2 alone with Silhouette studio edition and don't know how to import but I think it's because I don't own a Silhouette cameo machine. I love those shirts you made the heart and the cat.
The silhouette business edition is needed to do rhinestone templates and to save them as SVG files to upload into Cricut DS. I own only Cricut machines as well. I will be doing a short video on getting the business edition at a discounted price soon.
It has to be one of the higher versions of Silhouette. If you cut with a Silhouette, then the Designer Edition has it and can be used. However this version does not allow you to save your templates at SVGs. Since I cut on a Cricut, I have to be able to save them as SVGs, so I had to upgrade to Silhouette Business Edition.
The only time I used mine before filling in rhinestone designs where it looked like it needed help, I had only played with mine to see how it works. It really has come in handy for this purpose.
Hi Marilyn, i just found you on another video with Baby's Booty and Patrice and really learned a lot. I am looking for help with hot rix rhinestones on top of ht vinyl. I see in the shirt you held up that the word chiefs appears to be in rhinestones on top of vinyl? I found out the hard way that they won't stick to foil vinyl. So What is the red heart under the word chiefs please?
Hi Paula! On my chiefs shirt with the red heart, the red heart is mostly likely Siser htv, but there are no stones on top of it. I knocked out or sliced out where the rhinestones are. While stones will stick to vinyl initially, they are going to come off pretty easily. Thanks so much for watching!!!
@@MakingwithMarilyn gotcha! And I also found the video where you were making that chiefs shirt, after I posted my question. I'm kind of new to this and I'm so glad I found your tutorials! Thank you for the quick response! 😊
Thank you so much for making this video. However when I take my image from silhouette studio over to cricket design space they look like ovals what am I doing wrong?
Oh my goodness! I have never seen that happen. Are you making sure the lock is on before resizing the image? If you are, then possibly you could send the file to me and I can see what happens with it when I try?
@@MakingwithMarilyn thnkx so much I figured it out once in cricut I was trying to make the image even bigger which stretched the image out. I watched it again and missed the part where you said make it the exact size
Good afternoon Marilyn. I'm watching this video over and over. I'm working on Cheer bags for Cheer Camp for my niece who is a Cheer Coach this upcoming year. I am having issues with importing Pom Poms to rhinestone. HELP!!! I got a template from Etsy but I don't need the size it is I need a smaller size what can I do?
Templates are for specific sizes of stones. To make a template smaller, you would have to decrease your stone size. So if the design is made for SS10s, the holes are about .13 inches in diameter. You could decrease the size of your design to a point where each hole is .102 inches in diameter to fit SS6 stones. I'm not sure what you mean by "importing Pom Poms to rhinestones". Are you able to bring the Pom Poms into Silhouette? If you are trying to use a PNG, you would have to trace it first.
@@MakingwithMarilyn yes ma’am importing the poms template from Etsy but they are bigger than I need. I’m making a Cheer Coach shirt and then I’m making 18 Cheer makeup bags so I’m really challenging myself LOL
Angela, are you designing your own in Silhouette and then cutting them in Cricut? Or buying them and then uploading to Cricut? If so, here is a really short video that addresses the issue. If it is anything else, let me know your process and I will try to help you with it. ua-cam.com/video/3WWh2nd15N8/v-deo.html
Love your video your explanation is well detailed great job.Am new to rhinestone how can I have one on one tutorial from you, a question what's d name of the site ur created the template what other things do I need to know.
Hello Damilola! I just found this older comment in a pending list of comments that were held for some reason. I used Silhouette Business Edition software to make the template. Do you have a cutting machine? If so, what brand is it? Thanks so much for watching!
It is available on the next level down (I think it might be called designer edition) but you cannot save it as an svg. If you are using a silhouette to cut it, that’s okay.
Hi Pamela! I have two software programs that have the ability to make rhinestone - Silhouette Business Edition and Sure Cuts a Lot. I mainly use the Silhouette Software. Since I don't own a Silhouette machine, I save the file as an SVG and then open it in Cricut to cut it. If you happen to own a Silhouette cutting machine, you could simply cut it with that machine. Being new to rhinestones, please feel free to reach out with any and all questions:)
I actually tried a super heavy almost cardboard brown cardstock. Maybe that is what you are talking about. It worked great, until the hotfix transfer tape stuck to it and it was really hard to remove it. If it is something else, let me know and I will give it a try:) Thanks so much for watching!
I have done that for a cap that I will only wash by hand occasionally. From what I understand, rhinestones that you press onto vinyl will fall off the vinyl when you wash it. I have heard that they stick well to glitter vinyl though. I have been wanting to do some small test pieces that I put through the washing machine, so stay tuned for that:)
I do sell some templates in my Etsy store. Here is a link to it. I worked on 2 more templates yesterday and they are spring related templates. Thanks so much for watching! www.etsy.com/shop/MarilynsMerc?ref=profile_header
