Gatekeeper In Amp Building Concepts - Building 2 Pill Amps From Scratch!

- Finally did something new for a change and added to the ole Amp Building Concepts Video Series. This shows you what you can do with some heat sinks, copper boards, and used non amplifier related enclosures laying around the shop or house when you put your mind to it. You can turn something that looks like literal crap into something that is very useable and looks half way decent or even very nice!
Gate keeper...I keep enjoying your videos old and new. Can you tell me how amp builders are isolating the hot bus and the pill bus from the chassis ? Do these bus strips for the pills have an adhesive backing on a bus without making contact with the chassis ? No-one has ever explained that part of it. This sounds like a New video in the making to explain each step and component in the making of a two pill amp. Every step in making a two pill would be a great achievement for us out here ! It is coming bud....once I catch up with the remaining im going to not only be doing that...Im creating a while school where people can build with me.
We use single sided copper board and yes most use double sided tape for Hot Bus... I use to glue my pill strips down all the way till only 1 year ago or so lol then I started doing it the way most do...they let the components hold the pill strips down.

Just another suggestion, if you use a 3/32 bit and No.4 self tapping screws you will never have to tap out the holes, take it from someone who has built over 500 Amps without tapping any. Take care my fiend and love your work.
Thank you Tech I have notice that from your videos and I am a big fan of using the Socket Head #4 for my Transistors and other various things. I need to search hard to see if I can find some self tapping Socket Head Machine Screws. It is only a preference thing you know but thanks for that reminder. Like our buddy Shockwave tells me all the time, "Minimize & Simplify" lol and that would save me a lot of time! Thank you as always and God Bless!

I have to absolutely agree with you bud....To you. Thanks for voicing your opinion..that is what this comment section is for.....these are older videos..not sure if you would say the same about my Type Accepted LDMOS Amplifier Videos that I will be releasing soon but I'd love to have your opinion on it.
Always remember, there are always multiple levels of understanding to subjects and when you think you know it all..you are already in worse shape then a person that knows nothing. Meaning...these videos right here could be a blessing to a person that is in to this and it has been. Some Ops don't need Type Accepted Linear Equipment with beautiful band pass filtering. Some need just what's in this video.

This is how I make pill holes. I have an old board from a DM 8 pill. It's actually half the 16 pill board. There are no components on it any more. I line the pill holes over the copper board and then hit it with some spray paint. This transfers the pill holes all lined up. Then I just use a dremel. I have a high speed cutter that is just about the same size as the pill tabs. It takes about 15 - 20 seconds to cut each hole out. Its very fast. You just cut out all the paint.
