I was iat this show in thr front row. After the show was over Warren Zevon and the band stayed and just jammed as the audience left. A lot of the audience stayed behind and they played two or three WZ songs and chatted with the folks that stayed behind.
3 pitches 3 home runs. I remember that from the late 80s. I knew nothing about the Yankees or baseball during the 70s until the 81 series against LA. This is what happens when your parents know absolutely nothing about popular culture because it's 'beneath them'.
Patrick was a very good player. Did not have great supporting cast. Sprewell was actually the best guard he played with and he was problematic. Blame Knick management. Unfortunately Patrick was not at the top of his game when Sprewell/Ewing went to the finals.
Wow! Spike Lee is trying to stop being controversial, but controversial is the one thing that people have been calling him for years. Of course, Dave allowed him to speak his mind.
I don’t think he was trying to stop being controversial, I think he was tired of being labeled as such. He doesn’t see his work that way from what I’ve gathered from this interview
*Spike Lee claims that Black men are "being hunted" in America so he sold his $32 million dollar townhouse in Manhattan and moved to an estate in Martha's Vineyard where he would be safe.*
And a successful black man who can afford to live wherever he wants decides to move somewhere where as opposed to living in downtown Brooklyn for 20+ yrs and having ppl ring his bell at 3am and throw scripts at his window while he’s got 2 newborns and a wife, he can enjoy the fruits of his labor ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾 Beautiful ass story, and for a man of his stature to still draw attention to the TRUE fact black and brown POC are hunted in this county makes him a damn hero 👌🏾👑✊🏾
Cuz the great Don Giller was the original genius behind posting Letterman compilations as well being the first to commemorate guests from the show who recently passed.
Anytime you represent greatness you will have many opinions an views of many different people place upon you. Trust an believe. The only thing that separates that is tax brackets.
Always love the way, when Dave has a smart guest, he gives them a bit of air to make their point.
but then he still has to bring it back to "ha look at me, i asked about baseball and he's wearing a yankees hat"
Did anyone else catch the first half second image of Warren Zevon sitting in with the band?

04:03 Dave is a master of quickly changing the subject when the tone turns a bit dark.
I assumed that Dave was asking him about the World Series BECAUSE of his Yankees hat!
I wonder if Reggie Miller was sitting in the front row flashing Spike the choking sign. 🤔

2023 and nothing has changed

@@RobertSaxy Well, everyone else sure did.
Especially sat like that
I was worried Spike Lee died
Well, it's either someone's birthday or death that they do videos for. Usually.
Yeah ending up with a letterman UA-cam video of you interview is not a good sign you are alive
@TV Viewer that got me thinking, lots of people that Dave interviewed have died. Something might be fishy!

He's become a caricature.
Why do people keep assuming the guest died whenever the channel puts up these interviews?

Spike did the wrong thing when he cut out thirty minutes of his finished film on 9/11 . Wonder why he did it ….
Well now he's being called dead 😮
Hi Dave!!!
Come onnnnnn he can't promote Bamboozled and say he doesn't want people to think he's controversial!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Spike Lee died? People are dropping like flies. So sad.
Nope; it was Juneteenth.
Snoop?
Snoop Dogg is funny
Spike Lee did it to himself.
🥱
Spike sounds a little tipsy.
