The Unknown Abandoned Farm House

- Опубліковано 10 вер 2024
- Farm Houses are some of my favorite abandoned locations to film. Not only are they in a beautiful setting, but they also tell so many stories. This was my first abandoned location that i filmed on vacation in Maryland. Although the house was mostly empty, it made for a picturesque location. Enjoy
Please Note: Exploring Abandoned locations can be dangerous. I don't condone or encourage anyone to enter an Abandoned structure. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal and when possible, i seek out permission. I simply go to document its history before it's gone and leave things the way I find them. I assume all the risks & responsibility in doing so. Please don't attempt to do this on your own.

Thanks for the feedback of the farm house and your great time informing the public. I highly appreciate it very much. God bless 😇 you and keep safe always. 👍👍👍
A dream of a place; Imagine it in the past, yet even now it is secluded, peaceful & serene. Love it!!
Nice and peaceful
Great find. Thanks for sharing and taking us with. Stay safe.
Out of all the people that show houses I enjoy yours the most . you pay attention to detail and make the videos very interesting thank you
Thanks Leslie
I agree he's the best!
S
I agree. He doesn’t fly through the rooms. Takes his time and I appreciate it🤗
This is a beautiful video nothing around the lonely standing house, Plenty of open land and many of miles of views. Now that's the ideal location thanks for the tour
The floors in this house are amazing. So well built.
Whats left of them anyways.
Love the old farm houses.
Me too!
This has probably been mentioned. Both sides of my family are farmers. That house was definitely there during the depression.
Also WW1 & WW2. People in the farming industry were usually pretty careful of how they spent their money. I am willing to bet
that second staircase was there to serve as a fire escape. Farmers dont have money for maids. Every dime goes back into the
the crops or maintenance, or other necessary items. Being out in the middle of nowhere, your house would be burned to
the ground even if there was a fire station around to call for help. My father was born somewhere near Upland Nebraska. They
lived in a farm like that one and in my fathers time, there were even less people around. They were 'Dust Bowl' survivors btw.
My point is in those days there was not money for a maid in the average farmers budget.
I enjoyed the video. Thank you for posting it. Regards from Ody Slim
Lovely area and shell of a sad home. Thanks for exploring and sharing.
Great old house but sooo sad 😔 to see it rot away. To think of all the memories it holds inside. The laughter of children a baby’s cry the love of mother n father. Oh it breaks my heart to see these houses to waste away. I really believe this a pretty old one at that. I agree it’s really strange it sitting out in the middle of farm land. Thanks JP n I’m glad u were smart to stay away from the bees. They can smack a good one on u I know one stung me right on my head as a kid. Sick for days.♥️
Thanks for taking us along. I love looking at old houses and buildings. I know people who are always flying their little drone over the property for different views. That house would almost be good for that, you could get shots in areas you couldn't walk in safely. Thanks again.
I do use a drone occasionally but didnt have it with me at this location.
Thanks JP you narrate well I like to know where these places are and to know a little history on these places .Thanks again.
Thank you
Hi JP . GOD BLESS 😇 YOU AND KEEP SAFE ALWAYS. BECAREFUL PLEASE.
Ty
Wow. From the beautiful video on the drive approaching the old house to the views from the windows - I loved every second of this video. It must have been wonderful in it's heyday. One of the best abandoned videos I have watched. Great find, buddy and thanks for sharing.
Thank you Paula
I am new to watching the abandon videos, and I must say the way you produce your's is top quality. I love the way you pay attention to the details, which gives us the viewers a chance to experience the unique history of the places you explore. The way you do camera angles makes the viewer feel the experience right along with you. Stay safe and thank you for the wonderful experience
Thanks for the kind words.
What a peaceful setting with beautiful views. I would have loved to see that house in its heyday!
Just stumbled upon your videos! I love abandoned videos, but yours are by far my favorite! I love how much detail and time you take at each location! LOVE the still shots! Of course I subscribed and have the notifications on! Thank you!
Glad you enjoy them Mariah. Some people find them boring when i show lots of detail and make longer videos. So thanks for subscribing and commenting.
i bet that home was so beautiful in its hay day i love the old homes
So glad you were careful. Beautiful setting for that old house.
wow nice find there, love the pic taking and the addition of the black and white :) awesome place, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Tony
I love these houses.. I haven't been exploring in years, but I once went in an old barn & heard hissing.. Turned out to be a nest of baby vultures.. The top coolest thing I ever saw in an abandoned property :) Thanks for these videos!
Hope the mama wasnt around haha
Yes I like old History abandoned
Buildings etcetera.
Thanks very very nice farm !!
I love the blk/wh still photo from the distance. Another great find super great video. Thanks JP
Happy you liked it.
Sad to think this sits out in the middle of nowhere but people still manage to come and f it up.! Cool place tho! Thank you and stay safe!!
Loved it! I wish I knew when it was built! It must have been really pleasant living there back in the day! You did a great job showing what was there.
Thanks
Pretty cool
Nature is taking her back. Y'all have some great video work going on here. I love the shot of you walking into the field. This house had really good bones. I can imagine the Christmas tree there beside that fireplace Good job JP
Ty
I really appreciate your showing us this beautiful old house. Sadly it's just about swallowed up. I thought the same thing about the maids quarters.
🙂
Great video! I love old farm homes
I bet it was so nice to live there at one time. Probably quiet and peaceful! Nice find!
Id love the peace and quiet
Thanks once again JP. Take care.
Fantastic! That upstairs/maid area is my favorite part!❤️
I'm new to your videos, but oh my word, I love them! I've watched at least 3-4 a day!!! While I drink my coffee each morning I just sit back and enjoy these wonderful videos! Thank you for your time and effort you put put into them. Yes please be careful while out on your own in these places! I agree your safety should always come first!!! Thanks again from Florida!!! You rock dude!
Uf! There are a bunch, just search urban exploring. I also bing on this kind of videos but then i stop when i come upon one that has something that gets to me. There are some from canada too. The ones from Europe i have seen that i like are Michele stone's, she visits Chateaus
Yes he does. I enjoy his videos too. Great camerawork and his voice is soothing to me.
@Kelly Thornton ... I agree with you 100%. It's like I need my daily 'fix' of JPVideos 😃👍!! I usually watch 2-3 in the morning and few more at night! Vanessa, South Australia😎🐨
A stately old farm house gradually being taken over by Nature. Love the tall windows and quirky stairs, that bathroom under the stairs is an interesting update! No maid for this house, more likely "a hired girl" maybe from a neighboring farm, a relative or an orphan. There were "orphan trains" from the big cities that brought children to the country, some may have been foster children or were to be adopted but usually just worked for room and board.
If the walls could talk- or what’s left of them! These old houses are so so sad!
These are my favorite ones, thanks for bringing us along Jr.
That house would be a powered paragliders dream, just walk out the door and go flying!!
It was very open and beautiful. Views for miles.
I'm new to your channel, and i think you do a great job! You're a great at explaining everything about the places you visit... keep up the good work!👍
Thanks Stephanie
Nice farm but , looks spooky place. Beautiful scenery and farm place. Only the interior looks creepy. That's fine, saftiness comes first that the bees don't bite.
Hi i just love your videos The smaller part of the house looks more like a summer kitchen , Here in Quebec there are lots of farm houses with summer kitchens ,Keep up the good work and great videos
Thanks sandra
Enjoyed this one as always. If I was to guess I would think this belongs to whomever it is that actually owns the property. It may have been an original family home or it just may have come with the property when it was last purchased! This one is short but very happy you kept yourself safe. It would have been awful had you gotten hurt alone out there!
Poor Little farm house. A lot of these have met the same fate. Home is larger than what I thought Thanks for the explore. Sometimes more than 1 stairway as there was more than 1 generation of family living in the home and this provided some privacy,
Fantabulous!
A little late watching the video. But I’m glad I did. There is something about that farm house that is intriguing. I really like the layout of the house. I would of loved to see what it looked like before it was destroyed. And the surrounding land it beautiful. Too bad it was left to rot. Great find.👌🏻
Its a beautiful location. Glad i got to show it before it crumbles.
Enjoyed this video , must have been one grand home , in the day ...
A nice family oasis surrounded by a beautiful location. You can see them coming for miles. Nice
Great video's thanks I always do a Thumbs up
The middle of no where, can't believe it that it would be standing. But suppose will be more work to tear down and if they were to use that area as farm land stuff would have to be beried quit deep so that plows don't rip it up and destroy machinery. I think that is why they just left it let it fall to the ground. But the foundation would be still there and still could not use farm equipment over the sight to plant anything. Really something a house in the middle of no where, no other houses around, which is different. Many that's for the find, good work JP.
Wow. Huge hearth!!!👍👍👍
That was a pretty neat Jay!! I dont mess with bumble bees either.. Yesterday I went thru a bunch of brush to film an old church on a friends farm and didnt realize i had hit the button so lost the first 5 mins cause it also deleted it lol.. Lesson learned!
Awesome & Awesome! 🌵🌵
Thanks for posting. I really enjoyed this find and love the still shots. Thanks for not giving me motion sickness. So many videos I have to pass on because of jerky videos. You have one of the best channels.
Thank you Alice
The stories trees could tell...
This is one of the first videos of yours that I watched!!! I had to watch a few more before I started leaving a comment!!!
This is a great find!!! I love big old farm houses!!! Wonderful job on the video Jay!!! I'm glad that you always put safety first!!! I enjoyed watching this video again!!! Always stay safe and God bless you!!!
Glad you found my channel 💙
@@JPVideos81 Thank you!!! I'm glad I found your channel too Jason 💙😊💙
Wow it's so peaceful in the beginning, nothing but crickets and JP's voice of course🤗
Hope thats a good thing lol
@@JPVideos81 actually it's a nice voice🤗
The house seems bigger then what it looks like on the outside. it looked like it was a nice house.
Wow that house is still standing after all those years .. i tried to imagine how it may of looked and people living there all those years ago when the house was loved. I was surprised to see most of the floors were sturdy and there was 2 stairwells .. a great find but shame its unloved now ... peace and love x
Floors were bad in kitchen, but rest was pretty solid. They built it to last.
ty
Your still shots are always amazing. You should consider putting them in a book and call it abandoned PA.
Thanks!
What a cool tree. I would have liked to see it in it’s glory.
Hey man I liked your video!!! It reminded me of where my brother lived in NW Ohio by the Michigan line west of Toledo. I also subscribed too. .
Thanks for subscribing
Cool find!
So sad and depressing. Totally stripped, tagged, and forgotten.
Ohh i agree this old farmhouse definitely has a story to tell just love abandoned houses farmhouses kinda scary at first the floors didnt look too safe glad you made it through ok another great video JP thank you again
Not the safest, but worth documenting.
@@JPVideos81 yes i totally agree please be careful when filming you do such a great job too blessings
i would have loved living in that house.
So sad to see just a shell of its former glory. Saying that it still holds an interest and I would have loved to live there. I was brought up in a town but when I married moved out to the countryside 31 years ago. Im back into the town again but I miss looking out the windows and seeing beautiful views of Scotland. Your video has brought back beautiful memories for me. Thank you Jay, ever so much. I loved this. 💖🌹💖
So glad to hear you enjoyed it
@@JPVideos81 🌿💚🌿
Nice video! U are a very brave man!
Brave or not too smart? Haha. Thanks Angela
Great Stuff! Since the vandals hit that place there must not be much for them to do out there, being in the middle of nowhere lol! Thanks again for sharing.
It appears that way. Sad way to waste time.
awesome find. but no remnants of a barn i could see. so was it a farm? it could be just a financially stable family home with a nanny quarters or housekeepers room. but the stories we can drum up in our minds are quite interesting. again really awesome video. good job
Thank you heather
Loved it !
Another great video JP, I'm glad you made it out safe , so not worth it!
Ty
JPVideos you're welcome ☺
I maybe wrong but as old as that house appears to be, I bet those servants quarters were slave quarters with it's own staircase. Sometimes the add on room is usually a "Summer" kitchen. They added them on later to use during the summer to close them off from the rest of the house so it wouldn't get so smothering hot. But during the winter they used the regular kitchen that's in the house to help heat the house.
You know me and my "gut feelings".... that just had an air about it.
Very nice find indeed... love the view looking out of the windows...very relaxing....it's so shameful that house was once a great house and it's just fell to ruin. Thanks Jay 👩🌾💜✌🏼
Could be that, or maybe a room for hired help in the summers.
I always imagine what it was like those many years ago, when they were first building their houses. Being out in the sunshine, smiling while building their home. Anticipating when they are finished and moving into a brand new house. Thank you for sharing.
I really enjoy watching all your video's, this place would of been a beauty in her time, thank you for sharing. Blessings from Australia
Love your videos!
Ty
Glad you survived the explore without a bee sting...that could ruin a good day. Looks like the exterior may be cedar shakes. Might be the reason it has held up so well . Wish you had someone with you but glad you didn't take unnecessary risks. Loved the explore...I never get tired of your work.
Another thought....the tiny bathroom under the stairs may have been a later addition ...and they tore down the old privy ( down here we called them "outhouses" ).
Someone else has said that as well. Thats why it has modern plumbing.
That's where I live..in the middle of nowhere. That room with its own staircase: back in the old days, farmers would have a room or two that they would rent to boarders either to supplement their income or to provide rooms for field hands. Considering how large that room is, it's possible multiple field hands could have been housed there...they used to cook large meals for the workers. They weren't always provided rooms inside the house though, so it's hard telling.
That was my thought when I saw it. My grandfather and his brother were farm hands doing just that in the 30's. Those farm folk wouldn't have had a maid. I only saw one tiny touch of the human beings who lived in that house. Did you notice a bit of a pink curtain in one window when you first entered? I immediately put myself into the lady who picked that piece of fabric and made that curtain and hung it up there.
Mary Bobb Yes, the "farm folk" had inside servants; especially on larger farms and plantations. The towns had servant fairs to provide work on and in farms for the servants and farmers, until the late 30's.
@@BFagan this is true. Also, children who were orphans were often adopted just for the extra help. Less desired were girls, but if they did adopt girls they were put to work too. A lot of farmers had servants, some didn't, but it was common practice.
You just made me crave that microwavable oatmeal from the 80s with the jelly squeeze packettes. Idk where I'll find it lol 😂
It’s true, my mom grew up on a working farm. The house had a farm hand quarter for harvest. Now in days they put up separate trailer homes or RVs for seasonal hands. Some bigger farms had small houses built to accommodate hands.
Very nice video. I find myself holding my breath when you go to places on your own, although obviously the video wouldn't have been posted if you didn't make it back! I think I get too involved!
I get nervous too sometimes.
Wow good find! Thank you!
Like always love the abandoned farm houses and barns.thank you for sharing this beautiful location.
Its always fun and interesting to see these places and to experience just how people lived.... Thank You!
I love houses full of stuff, but I also enjoy these too.... so much decay. So much history. Bittersweet to think of the families who lived there, the children who filled the home. Great explore!
Thanks Lex
What an awesome find! Thanks for being careful!
i could do tons with that land!!!!!
Great find, really enjoyed watching, I'm glad you didn't put yourself in too much danger
What a beautiful old place, shame idiots ruin it..would make a lovely home if it was restored ,expencive to do but would be nice..thanks for showing 😃
Mother Earth always reclaims her own, thanks for the tour
The smaller part w/ own stair case could have been for the farm hand. Usually it would have been separate to the farm house but in this case it looks like it was the original farm house when they began their homestead. Very neat.
I think you're right.
Safety first!
Love these old places, too bad about the graffiti though. Great still photos. Thank you.
London plain tree aka sycamore tree at beginning. Very common tree found in nyc parks and streets.
Great find! What is it with you and the bees lately? Lol. Glad you didn’t go up, not worth it, especially since nothing was in the rest of the house. Still cool to see! Where the fire places crumbling or vandalism? Looked like the mantles had been removed. Gave thumbs up as always!
Guess I'm sweet like honey... bad joke, i know lol. I think vandals did that to the fireplace. Definitely looks smashed in.
JPVideos Yes, bad joke.... lmao! I will never understand why people get off busting things up and tagging, do they think someone will see it and say “oh yeah, I know him?”! Thanks again!
Love your videos please be safe and I looking forward to to the next house...
Beware of the bees! Good idea. 🐝
Love you still shots of the house
You do what you gotta do for your own safety. I think most would understand.
Thanks
JPVideos You’re welcome.
thank you or the viewing pleasure love all your videos thanks for sharing with us
Brilliant find JP awesome video to looks really old thumbs up
It was once a nice home, I don't care where you live, you just can't escape from the graffiti, and vandalism. Thank you for the tour, always enjoy them. God Bless.
Such a cool find, Its a beautiful location. I can imagine how the house looked, in it’s day.
