Sam that is a great idea and it is absolutely going to happen. Maybe one day we'll even get it together to have merch and we'll do a snack spot calendar with our top 12 spots. And as you say, this one will without question be in it. Honestly, the footage didn't even do it justice. To the eye that drop-off was absolutely massive, and the views...wow! ❤️

When you said, “If you can, you must” and your face goes from happy, to “oh lord, be with me through this” level of being scared. Is the absolute most intriguing and enticing part of mountaineering/canyoneering/trail running to me and I encourage all to push to their “boundaries” and embrace them! You set them, so you have the power to rewrite them. Love your guys’ videos so much!!

    • @LiveHardxLoveHard

That is beautifully said Alex, and it really captures the ethos of this trip for us. We started with some challenging but relatively moderate climbs like this one, and have been building up to some truly extreme ones that even a few weeks ago might have felt too difficult but now feel exactly right! It's all about rewriting boundaries! ❤️

Randy you would definitely love it! To be able to do something so epic and challenging with relatively little risk of death is just an incredible gift, and it's super addictive. Unfortunately we have almost no via ferratas here in the U. S., and certainly none as epic as those in Europe, but it's a great reason for you to book a trip to the Dolomites! ❤

Haha these are great and pertinent questions, Paul! We've been finding that if we get up before dawn and start hiking at first light, we nearly always have the climbs here to ourselves. By the time we come down the parking lots are full and lots of people are hiking and climbing, so it's all about starting early. As for pastries, you simply would not believe the quantities that Adam is consuming. Breakfasts might include 5 or 6 croissants or rolls, eggs, cereal, yogurt, and some kind of meat and cheese sandwich. He's eating a normal person's full day of calories in a single meal, but it's necessary with the crazy climbs we're doing! ❤️

Adam & Elise, once again, make the difficult & terrifying look easy & “chill”. They’re climbing Via Ferrata Piccolo Cir located in the Dolomite Mts., in Northern Italy. At their backs are indisputably instructive & impressive views towards Sella group, Sassolungo and the Badia Valley. The views are so breathtakingly impressive they look more computer graphics generated than real.
Piccolo Cir, a spiraling upward route around the peak feels & looks like you’re going vertical the entire time and not a place for anyone prone to Acrophobia.
The descent, no matter how you approach it or what gear you use, is terrifying!
Via Ferrata (Iron Path), is a method of ascending a route with the assistance of metal ladders, rails and lines that you typically clip into with a carabiner system attached to your climbing harness and extremely difficult none the less. Imagine pulling 110 - 160 lbs. bag of sand straight up a metal cable without the aid of a pulley system and you’ll begin to appreciate the difficulties Adam & Elise faced. However, if you posses the strength to crush rocks with your bare hands you’ll have an easy time pulling yourself up the cables.
I’m pretty sure Adam & Elise posses these qualities :)
Thank you for the great cinematography & climb!

That is fantastic to hear! Yes via ferrata is a fantastic way to bridge between hiking and climbing, and if you start her with a few relatively moderate one like this then it might not be long before she's asking you to do some of the really crazy ones! ❤️

OMG Emmilean, if you loved the Colorado via ferratas you will lose your mind in the Dolomites! We'll show you a few more in the coming weeks that you simply are not going to believe. We love traveling all over the world, but the Dolomites is a place we're going to come back to again and again. It is just that special, and we really hope you do it!! ❤️

Haha we would definitely take the via ferrata any day!! Our flight to Lyon with transfer in Paris was a nightmare, but since then we've stuck with trains and a rental car and that's been great. Rental car is definitely the right way to explore the Dolomites -- we've been driving to new spectacular climbs pretty much every other day!! ❤️

If you haven't done them already, I'd recommend Brigata Tridentina (VERY popular so an early start might be best) and Piz da Lech with its rickety ladders and polished start I'd like to see Adam do without the iron! Great film; brought back some good memories! Cheers!

Great recommendations, Allan! We absolutely LOVED Tridentina, and started so early that we were literally the first ones on it -- that was a heck of a climb! We've definitely done a couple where Adam had to use the iron, including a crazy polished overhang on Tomaselli -- can't wait to show you all these adventures once we get a chance to edit them!! ❤️

When I used to rock climb, one of the things that helped me the most (besides conquering my acrophobia) was looking for foot holds and letting the hand holds take care of themselves. Find a good foot hold and stand right up on it, usually the next good hand hold was right in front of my face! (lol) 😆 Also, the young woman I used to climb with got me into the habit of down climbing the one pitch sport routes instead of rappelling or being lowered off. It really helped me because you don't have eyes in your feet and finding and trusting the foot holds on the way down becomes harder.

This is fantastic advice. Even in the gym, our more experienced climbing friends are always reminding us to think about our feet first, and via ferratas offer an excellent place to practice that kind of thing! ❤️

Ya Dan, there's nowhere in the world that is better climbing than the Sierra, though Italy probably comes closest with Arco and all the astonishing vertical Dolomites!

Hi, guys! Absolutely remarkable! The Dolomites are more beautiful than I realized! Congratulations on your success on this climb! ( I’m going into the studio on July 22nd and 23rd for two six-hour recordings on that glorious 9’ Hamburg German Steinway!) Don’t forget, Elise p, if you want to collaborate on something , I’m still interested in working on a piece... just

Thanks Michael, and I would LOVE to collab on a piece! If you get a chance, all I need to get going is a lovely, slow, eerie piano accompaniment with room for vocals. Then I'll work out a vocal melody and Adam will do lyrics and we'll have ourselves a song! ❤️
