Great to see videos from someone who isn’t making it look easy while running at the front of the field. I know what it’s like to be 3 or 4 seconds slower than the fast guys. I felt like I had achieved something in my last race, 1 hour GT3 race at Bathurst, first time I finished without going a lap down. 🎉😂 Keep up the great work, looking forward to your next video.
Thats a heck of an achievement for such a long race at such an unforgiving track! Haha yea I am painfully aware how many people are so effortlessly faster than me. Still figuring this out I suppose. Thank you for tuning in!
First video I've seen of you, but I love your style! I started racing in Iracing a few days back and it's been a lot of fun! Can't wait for more videos
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed the video! iRacing is the most infuriating/exciting thing to have come across my desk in a really long time hahaha. I'll be back with more videos soon!
I'm an actual first timer with simracing. I had ACC for a long time but never had a rig or something like that. I got some sim stuff now during Black Friday at Moza and have started iRacing a few weeks ago. And its crazy. Fun, but crazy. I've been a marshal at the nürburgring since 2017 so i do know about racing. But the Rookies and some of the D-Class stuff was very damn tough. Great video, lets see where your journey leads you :D
How exciting!! Congrats on getting your new sim rig! I hear great stuff about Moza! And the fact that you marshal at the Nürburgring is crazy! Have you driven it on iRacing? Curious to know how it compares to the real thing hahaha. Do you mostly work the same corner or do you hop around different posts? Anyway thank you and I hope we get a chance to line up on the same grid sometime!
@@SimNub To answer your question, about the comparison, it compares very well! Its especially fun to drive in an MX 5 Cup ;). And for the other questions: The Nürburgring, incl. the nordschleife is devided into 17 sections. And depending on the event i either manage one or work in one. We have a marshalteam called RSF adenauer Forst which i made an iRacing livery for aswell. So if you se an Orange green car with a logo on the side, thats one of us most likely ;). During RCN Races I either manage or work in Section 7 which includes Quiddelbacher höhe (Fast double right quite at the beginning) Flugplatz and schwedenkreuz (Hig speed left before going right down towards foxhole) In NLS Races we are working sections 15 and 16 basically, during the 24h of the Nürburgring we are in section 10 which is basically the Miss hit miss and bridge in Adenau and on Grand Prix Races we work section 2. Its absolutely amazing and i wouldnt wanna miss it :)
This video is great. It only took me three races to get a D license in a sports car using the M2. I have done ten Formula Vee races and I am still in rookies.
if you want a tip for trailbreaking, here is the fastest way i know how to learn it. when trailbreaking, start to do it pretty early in the entry and start by going almost completely off the break the first few times. only have a couple percent breakpressure and incrementally increase in time by trial and error slowly getting to the point where the car rotates the desired amount. i find it easier to do it this way in the begining since you dont break to much and spin trying to find the sweetspot from the harsh end and not knowing where the limit is, but instead gradually find the balancing point of the car when increasing break pressure every time you trailbreak until the moment you have learned the balancing point of the car and track. i hope this helps:)
@SimNub no worries. Yea i find it esier if i gradually get it right piece by piece instead of bumping my head against the wall untill i accedentaly get it right haha. Cant wait untill the next vid, great work.

to be fair to iracing everyone has real names (or realistic) and it adds to the sim imo, having real names makes it feels less like a game and more like a serious racer. Sim Noob is so far from a realistic name that i can understand why they want you to change it.
Yea I see what you're saying and I know what they want to see big picture but it's not possible to have purely objective rules to filter out "fake names" and half the splits I got put into I noticed display names that are initials only or seemingly made up names too. So whatever they're doing, it's not working and I feel like I got a ticket for speeding while driving at the flow of traffic if that metaphor makes sense.
Yep, I agree. Sim Noob YTA on this one. Part off the appeal of iRacing in not racing against VTec1997A1, Based Alien, and other shit made up names. You're not the very special boy who gets to be the one with a clearly fake gamer name, sorry.

Name drama is dumb on iracing part but I also think if you are going to be classified as an exception to their rule then I think you have to color within the lines with whatever discretionary rules they come up with for your exception. I'm saying Formula Ford in the video. I was under the impression that the FF in Ray FF1600 stood for Formula Ford. Quick google search turned up coachdaveacademy's article calling it that too. Can anyone else chime in and verify?
@ it’s very possible that I’m just under educated. I’ve read the info on the page in iracing and I thought k it didn’t mention anything about for but the engine is a ford 1.6 liter apparently.
Thank you for your honest opinion! I get what you are saying and what iRacing wants in the big picture but I was not the only one with a pseudonym. I saw people with purely initials and other people with seemingly "obvious" fake names. But if your vibe is ruined by someone else's name then you have other problems.
By that logic, if everyone has to suffer your misfortunes, do you have to suffer everyone else's? How do they even know which Michael Nichols you are anyway?

And thank you very much for being patient! I know its almost a month since my previous video haha I won't make excuses. I've also been seeing a ton of new sim racing channels lately too!
The CS agent might be a jerk in the way he responded, but he cant do anything about policy.
policy actually depends on the judgement of the agent to decide what is acceptable or not AND they were a jerk.
😁
Embrace your Aholiness.
Can't get through life without being the A hole from time to time haha
Brother i beg you, Please turn up your FOV to like 65 degrees this horrible how can you drive like this😭🙏(you can change this setting in camera/cockpit settings)
This is the calculated "correct" FOV for my monitor size and distance from my eyes. I don't have a problem with it, sorry that you don't like it!
Shoulda made your name Sam Noobson
🤣
In rookies everyone is bad reporting anyone seems dumb lol
Wonder if it gets any better later
You need to stay true to your name. Looks like you are getting too good too fast lol
Hahaha I guess it depends on who you compare me to.
Not sure if you are saying formula 4 or ford but these are neither? It’s a Ray.
@ I also just googled it and I was just ignorant to what the FF stands for. That’s my fault. It is formula ford 1600
Try low fuel motorsport 😊 ist free😂
Thank you for your suggestion!
yikes, I didnt think the most overpriced racing game would have such bad support
Yikes indeed. Guess what they said when I asked to speak with the supervisor? "Your request is denied." LOLLL
Simon Noob
haha someone else said that too
lets spread hate for the guy who filed a report about the name :(
🤣
Forget blaming you or the cs agent... The snitch is the problem who were you hurting?
Maybe it's one of the people I wrecked by accident and they got butthurt. Who knows. That dude sucks haha
Sim Noob as name ruins the vibe, man. Look at all the other names, you must know you are the odd one out.
Thank you for your honest opinion! I get what you are saying and what iRacing wants in the big picture but I was not the only one with a pseudonym. I saw people with purely initials and other people with seemingly "obvious" fake names. But if your vibe is ruined by someone else's name then you have other problems.
It's a video game... not that serious
If I have to go through people messaging me on facebook after a race you should too lmao
By that logic, if everyone has to suffer your misfortunes, do you have to suffer everyone else's? How do they even know which Michael Nichols you are anyway?
defintely a jerk who reported the name. ridiculous.
Thank you, I'm still open to new arguments supporting the CS agent but I haven't seen anything to sway me just yet.
Quit iRacing. Come race ACC and cool AC mods with us others who don't like spit-in-your-face-and-furk-you-in-the-arse iRenting.
Hahaha iRenting sucks sometimes
