Honestly legends and PCup have to be the 2 hardest and most competitive series I’ve ever raced on when you get above 2k IR. I own and race a legend IRL, idk how these guys stay so fast on this sim in these things.
Yeah it's insane. I really love these cars. My goal/dream is to race Legends irl someday if I save enough. Since you own and race one, how do they feel in iRacing compared to irl?

I was watching this randomly and realized, that legends race at lime rock I was p2 behind you! My heart was racing! I was like, no way I fucked his race up! I try so hard to be clean! The relief I felt , when that one was you blowing your engine!
dont worry about SR my dude, it'll progress naturally as you work on the IR.. there's class A drivers with sub 500 Iratings that will ruin your races EXACTLY like rookies do.. ive been on iracing almost daily for 4 yrs now, im classB oval and road car, class c open wheel and rallyX, and i dont do dirt oval... if your good, you'll progress naturally. if not, try forza
@@RaffaCampos51 right on.. you'll get there, the slower it takes the better driver you will become, experience is the best learning tool we can get, and it compounds with time. keep racing bud, i'll see you out there
i just gave up doing quali and started from last and avoided all the crashes and usually can just end up p5-p1 with good pace and playing lot of catch up, super good for the safety and ir
@@RaffaCampos51 its the ego racers that end up in the big wrecks haha, turn the racing line back on and learn your braking points and traffic management and learn to get fast from there!
I don't need the racing line to learn dw, already passed the 2k iRating mark. I'm decently quick in ACC, it's just I have a really bad tendency to jump into races with 0 practice that ends up like this lol
Haha the out of track penalty on Oulton is just so frustrating. You can replicate your acc exits BUT the acceptable out of range points are just a lot earlier. I swear this game has more to do with Trackmania. When i asked about some more insights from force feedback, i got an army of "iracing is just sending actual feedback from the wheel, not polluted results you would have from other sims". We pay much more to have less. Given on rookie/class D you at least have many skirmish 12 mins races, imagine the feeling after 1h30🤪. To my point, this is a scrambling game where you're supposed to feel you're in charge of your success. The only way up is to start first or second and maintain the pace. The mid grid is just nightmare fuel on lower ranks.
Honestly I prefer iRacing's force feedback and physics to ACC in its current state. It's only a pain in the ass with the penalty system (oh yeah and having to sell a kidney for the content)
@RaffaCampos51 yeah acc was never a favourite of mine anyway, my love for this class dried out in 2020. If i'm being honest, the mazda mc5 from Assetto corsa is just a blast. There is a Coupe legends 34 mod as well that i found a little more playful than its Iracing counterpart. Everything feels more alive in assetto really. Still coming back to the game then and there (with the 50% coupons i find here and here😂), but in the end as soon as i feel angry i quit for a couple of months. I've played iracing for3 weeks this year i think and i still have vivid memories of rear bumping and collateral collisions.

While I don’t want to police your driving, I’m noticing there’s some stuff here that’s probably contributing to SR problems. What wheel do you have / FFB are you running? It looks like you’re fighting the wheel way more than you need to and making a lot of wobbly adjustments. This will just slow you down, make the car about as stable as a mental asylum patient (especially with how particular the cars in iRacing are) and probably just distract you. Overdriving the car, and not letting it settle down - Tires are odd in iRacing, so when you overheat them by sliding or pushing the car too hard, you lose a lot of grip really fast. Before going into any races, I’d highly suggest practicing whichever car and track combo you’re doing beforehand. You don’t need to search for the fastest lap time, but the way I do it is I run 2 or 3 practice sessions that are equivalent to race time of whatever race I’m doing. 1st session to learn the track, 2nd session to try going faster without going all out, 3rd session to practice qualifying laps. This week at ViR I did probably 4 practice sessions each about an hour long (separately) since I’m preparing for the 4 hour production car challenge race on the 27th, and I’ve also been doing the regular 25 minute PCC races in the GR86, and I haven’t gone above a 4X in official races; which I really think is because I’ve given myself a ton of time to practice and mitigate my own mistakes so incident points only come from other people. Again, I don’t want to police your driving but gaining SR is a secondary art to being fast. Fixating on SR *overall* also will just become more stressful rather than focusing on clean and fun races individually. It took me two or three weeks to go from 3.67 in road to 4.99 and genuinely the best tip I can give is just to get in tune with your car and track as much as possible.
yeah honestly it's true. Generally I end up jumping into races without a single lap of practice and then I don't know where the limit is. You made good points there, they're all true
oh yeah and I'm running a half broken G29, idk what ffb settings I'm running but I have to push it back into place every once in a while since the clamps are broken
so i gained SR fast by just ignoring iR and starting from the back, just trying to avoid incidents, also drive longer races as SR-Gain is calculated by incident per corner. my "proof" is getting from C2,20 to B3,44 in 1 season (also fuck slowdowns)
