The highest wind speed I’ve heard about around Clearwater was about 60mph. Now that’s definitely a strong wind. However, I’ve seen numerous thunderstorms in my life where the winds hit speeds greater than 60mph.That type of wind can bring down some tree branches and limbs, and damage awnings, but that’s about it. So this storm wasn’t much for the Suncoast.
Strong wind, rain, pretty much a dud. Media overhyped it tremendously. I've seen many regular thunderstorms do more than Edna. Perhaps Edna was an elderly woman.
Some of you guys are so embarrassingly out of touch that you think a local media agency would fake windy conditions with a helicopter. You believe this over the much more obvious conclusion that’s staring you right in the face: it’s kind of windy there.

Yeah the wind is almost strong enough to blow your hat off Tom. Just to give you an idea, look at those palm trees.
