dude oh my freaking gosh i was like so stressed for like a whole 30 seconds, took me weeks to get my set up and i thought i just messed up, mic had an adapter in it haha!! they don't put stuff like this on the box
my god, yours an absolute life saver. i ran to 3 different stores to find a boom arm today, and paid almost as much as my microphone for it when i finally found one, so you can imagine my horror when i thought the mic wasn’t going to fit. i wanted to throw my mic stand out the window and i was beginning to accept that i was gonna have to return it after hours of store hopping😭
Brilliant!! Waiting on Amazon delivery for scissor arm boom and I can still film with new mic attached to my current stand thanks to you :) Thank you for being informative and straight to the point while looking so professional, clear, well spoken and classy!!!
I waited weeks for my new shock mount and boom arm only to be disappointed when I couldn't get it to fit. All this time and money and I was going to have start sending the shock mount and MBA back. Well your video saved my day! After viewing your video and using your suggestion, I now have my shock adapter attached! Thank you!
Spent hours trying to figure out why my installation shield wouldn't fit on my mic stand. The directions spoke of an adapter (who knew it was already inside). All my research and nothing spoke about this until your video!!! Thank you so much
Thank you very much. My stand didn't come with any instructions nor contingencies. Like Hunter below, I fell into a panic for 2 minutes before accessing this video. Thanks again!
Duh!!!! I don't know why I didn't think of this, I was stumped, my scissor boom mic arm had the adapter in the inside, Thank you, now I can use my desk mic stand on my Neat King Bee Microphone.. The nickel coin trick works great to remove the adapter. Thanks again.
I Feel like a complete moron, I recently bought a new boom arm and microphone and was wondering why the connector piece for the two was a different size. Thank god you guys made a video, better to feel like an idiot and fix the problem, rather than a genius and still have one.
Excellent video! Clear and professional. My only suggestion would be perhaps a link to a shop that sells thread adaptors in the description or a clip for one in the section after you're adding the thread adaptor. Other than that amazing work! :D
i had bought a stand and mic together and i couldnt figure out why they didnt properly fit each other until like a year of owning this mic, so i looked through all the equipment that came with it and i found the piece in another type of mic stand and wow, my life has changed and im so happy, no more wobbly mic that could easily fall, thank you for this video lol
Thank you very much your video was very helpful many thanks other youtubers just give their opinion about it, without showing you or helping you on how to set it
Thanks for this straight to the point video. I had a mic stand delivered and I just unpacked it but I had kept it beyond the return deadline, and like other people in these comments, I thought I wouldn't be able to use it with my microphone. So thank you!
I have the same issue, but the female spider mount attachment is alittle too big to fit snugly on the stand. The adaptors you used are way too wide. Is there a very thin, threaded membrane that will fit inside the female threaded mount attachment? I have a ton of the fat adaptors you show but none will work. Thanks.
wow! thank you so much! i had no idea that was possible. just bought a new mic and stand a few days ago, and i was super confused how to make the mic fit. this info is much appreciated.
I’ve got a mic the Razor siren s and it has a circle stand that comes with it and you out a little cylinder in your mic to connect it and I can’t seem to take the cylinder off to put it in my mic arm. Help
Brilliant. Thanks, mate. I bought the Gator Frameworks Mic Boom Arm and a universal shock mount, but the shock mount is the 55-60mm size, not the 42mm size to fit my ATR 2100-ATB or SM58 Mics which were suggested from the Tim Ferriss kit. What to do?! I first looked at buying the right shock mount but until I get it, the old shock mount provided the thread adapter so that I can use my standard desktop mic holder threads. Works perfectly!
I LOVE YOU! I just had this problem and nearly cried thinking I had to order a new mic when I've waited so long for this one! Thanks to your video I am recording today, MANY THANKS!
Do you have to install the brass thread/thread in the microphone ? Or you can screw it manually in the boom arm ? Like the shure one, to put the microphone on a 5/8 to 3/8 stand, do you have to put the thread inside the mic (back of it) and tighten with a coin, or simply screw the adapter in the boom arm ?
i have a problem ive got the mic for the stand but do you know the thing at the bottom of the mic and u put it on to connect it to stands that are on your desk not the arms, i use that and i have a stand but im struggling to remove the little cy linder at the bottom
Damn, I removed the thread adapter on the new AKG P 220 shock mount. However it still won't screw into my Mic stand. The Adapter screws in a tiny bit but won't go all the way and it's not strong enough to hold the mic. Any suggestions?
i love u sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much u fixed my problem as i was almost bout to return my 100 dollan stand thank you sooooooooooo much, more peeople need to know about this

Yea I had the same problem where I was worried for a bit, then I checked my boom arm box and it had a thread adapter in it.
Same! 😂
I can confirm this saved a lot more frustration and saved an unnecessary return of a mic stand! I can’t thank you enough!

same, this cheap boom arm might be the problem.. 3/8" just doesn't fit to the 3/8" shock mount, had to use a bloody duct tape to keep it in one piece
Great tutorial ! keep rockin
