I agree. Boston has changed a lot. Way too expensive for those looking to build a savings and obtain a mortgage one day on a recent-grad salary. Even with multiple roommates the cost of living still far exceeds many other of the cities listed.

I live in salt lake and there is really not much to do after 8pm also cost of living has gone up so your looking at about 1k-1.3k for a one bedroom apartment.
I went to Denver last year and it was so lit. Underrated city has outdoor and indoor activities, good nightlife, good food, etc.. I would take Denver over New York any day.
I assuming its Dallas, TX. Honestly many cities in Texas are witnessing incredible growth, especially in stem. Where the companies are located, others will follow.
Lived in Salt Lake City my entire life and it has experienced exponential growth over the past 3 years. Young people from all over moving here like crazy. Real estate has become a riot. No way Jose will you find a rental for under 1200 in a decent place. Having said that, job opportunities are still amazing. One thing to consider is winter inversions and summer wildfires. Last summer Salt Lake had the worst air quality in the world. Yikes! Where these used to be rare occurrences, poor air quality is the standard now.
I live in Salt Lake City, its an awesome place to live. I moved there from the Seattle area in 2020. The economy is on fire and there are a ton of jobs for college grads and people like me who don't have a college degree. I work in construction and recently bought my first house. Looking to start my own business with in the next year. You don't need a college degree to make a good living. Anyway don't tell to many people about SLC we are trying to keep it on the DL. Thank you for keeping Seattle off this list lol.

The big thing for new people is the snow and the cold during the winter months. If you haven't visited Salt Lake City before I would definitely recommend it, just to see of you like it or not.
NC State has a much greater influence on Raleigh than Duke or UNC. NC State creates way more engineers than Duke or UNC which is why Raleigh is completely STEM based. Duke and UNC contribute more to Durham and Chapel Hill (both are similar cities to Raleigh). It'd be like saying San Diego is well educated because of USC and UCLA.

I was totally surprised by Salt Lake City and Raleigh being so high on the list. I just honestly have never really thought of them. I'm going to be checking them out online. I love that Columbus, OH is so high on the list. I've been looking into it for several months, and it seems like a great city....especially since it is similar to my home city of St. Louis.

My guess is Raleigh. Coming back to my guess, if you are going to reference UNC and Duke, you need to expand the population of the entire metro: 2.1 Million. Also, if you are going to talk about all the good jobs and schools, you also need to mention Raleigh's university: NC State. It's both the largest university in the state of NC and it pumps out thousands of Engineering graduates and other STEM early-in-career candidates for employment. Also, Apple just announced a 3000 person campus for AI and Machine learning software engineers with an average salary of 187K. As for your number 1 (in fact this entire list), none are really surprises to me. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Charlotte, Boise, Atlanta, D.C, and a few others on this list as well.

Utah has the best economy in the country and the best access to outdoors. I can go dirt biking in sand dunes one weekend and snowboard in the mountains the next. All within less than 3 hours of most cities in Utah.

I lived in Seattle and NYC, and you may not believe this, but Seattle was much harder financially than New York. In New York, the subway goes to affordable neighborhoods - not as much in Seattle.
As a Northern Virginia native, I can say that D.C is an amazing city. You will never be without a job. There are so many job opportunities, especially within the government. However, the cost of living in D.C is extremely high. The average rent for a 1 bedroom apartment is around $1,900 to $2,000+. However, there are lower costs of living in the surrounding metropolitan area (Northern Virginia and Maryland). Commuting to D.C from these areas could take, on average, no more than 30 minutes. You’ll also never be bored in the DMV area! We have museums, beaches, mountains, etc. The summers are hot and the winters are cold. Anything you can think of, we pretty much have. I'm jewish so there has to be a jewish community and 3 . I hate libreal cities cause the pepole are really annoying Karen's and I can't stand it .. I'll probably end up moving to some where in Florida since that state checks off all my boxes tbh the problem with Florida is though is not a lot of young pepole so idk

Duke students go to Raleigh to have fun ;). Charlotte NC is also a nice city. IMO NC is very humid in the summer.
