- Zeus presents Z-Out (aka X-Out II) (un-emulated) for the Amiga A500. A true classic from the golden era of amiga gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game.
Year of release: 1990
Much prefered this sequel compared to X-Out. I found it much more playable and background scenery that could kill you easier to detect.
Love the music on level 4 and as a bonus i have included it in full at the end of this video (time: 35:56).
I have used the invincibilty cheat so i could upload the entire game for your viewing pleasure.

Loved this game back in the day. Incredible soundtrack.

For anyone who has gone all the way through and completed this game you will realise that it is so underrated.
The only way I completed this game (TODAY! 16/10/2022 and over 30 years after first playing it) was to use snapshots in an emulator. I must have died 30 times trying to beat the level 4 boss - which imo is harder than the final game boss. Kudos to anyone who has legitimately completed the game without snapshots or cheat modes. You're hardcore gaming gods!! That's my next goal - going to be v.tough!!
when i was playing it as a kid, I was stuck at level 5 Boss, which is way harder than level 4 boss imo. Are u sure you were not talking about level 5 boss ?
@@indyzaga yes, for some reason the boss @24:55 I really struggled with for some reason but found the boss at the around 28:30 I found easier. Dunno why 🤷🏻♂️

Seems like europeans loved R-Type to death, so many clones! Some are pretty good like this one.

I remember reading about this games development in a magazine, but it was still called "WARGATE" back then..
Who didn't have the skid row cracked version? Loved this game.
Just had a look at that and yes that is a particularly nasty boss, i must've died a dozen times trying to kill it.
The only way i see to avoid it's head is to duck fast underneath it rather than over the top of it, i'm gonna give it a go,...i'll turn the cheat off as soon as i get to that boss and i'll let you know.
Project-x (not the special edition) is a real bitch, i've got to level 3 without cheats.

Boy, this game owes a lot to R-Type, doesn’t it? Still, impeccable graphics and sound and intriguing ideas.
I think alot of shmups followed the R-Type feel, level 4 on this game has great music!

The last boss is not quite the toughest. I meant the boss in the H.R. Giger Level.
The ship with the snake head, or how you would like to describe it. It's seems to have a rather random pattern compared to the other bosses of the game.
It starts getting rather difficult when the water level is sinking.
And yes. I start to dislike this game trying to complete it.
X-Out wasn't that difficult.
Another shooter I'm unable to complete is project x which is similar difficult.

Is because am picky but i remember being not completely satisfied of the first three level enemy graphics, look uninspired and lack a coherence: wanted a game console level on the amiga since it can do it!!!
Had at the end to do my own - actually worked on graphics and music, not on code: Powder! Test it when you can!
I have to say, that I'm trying to beat this game for now 2 years. (also on real amiga 500)
This is actually the second video on youtube showing a playthrough and I hoped for some help for the 5. level boss, which I am not able to beat.

You have used the J+K cheat for invincibility.
Are you able to beat it without it ?
Without savestates, this game is really a pain. It's nearly impossible to find a strategy for this.

Nope not me hense the trainer.
I'm an old fart already and played plenty of 80s games, but mediocre Amiga music annoys me. Used to hate FM too, but today it is not as irritating as some repetitive poorly composed amiga tunes using same samples again and again.
It is indeed a tough game but it is also possible to beat the last boss without a cheat as it has a predictable movement pattern, you also need the weapon that sits on the front of your ship otherwise the bullets will kill you so quickly that you'll start to dislike the game just as quick.
I have thousands of Amiga games on disks for my real Amiga A500 but unlike 20yrs ago i don't have the level of patience nor all the time in the world to practice to complete them all.
