"Stinger" is a specific weapon type, built by the US. "MANPADs" is the generic term for shoulder launched anti-air missiles (MAN-Portable-Air-Defence-Systems)

Ukraine aid donations are using BS accounting. For example, many countries are using the replacement cost of the sent hardware as the value of their aid. This is like me gifting my 10-year-old truck to my son, buying myself a brand new truck, and then declaring that I gifted a truck valued at my new purchase.

That's 100% correct. For example, the US is sending 50 Bradley fighting vehicles that were bought 30 years ago and were about to be decommissioned. They cost roughly 4 million each BACK THEN. But the media outlets are portraying it like "We're sending 120 million in Bradley IFV's!" When in reality, we're just giving old stuff we had lying around.

@@atg2186 Inflation applies to NEW goods/services, not OLD ones. You've also ignored depreciation...
Stockpiles of old military equipment and ammunition don't become more expensive over time, they become cheaper, until eventually they're so out of date that they're almost worthless. Sending these should be a priority, but in some cases they will need replacing with modern equivalents.
Also, bear in mind that most of the weaponry sent so far was originally intended to be used in a defensive war against Russia, so it's actually being used for its intended purpose...

I wish more news outlets also put into perspective the Billions we are sending. We are absolutely spending a ton of money to send armarments, but we are paying US Manafuacturers for this armaments that we are sending. Most of the money is going to weapons/defense contractors in the US/EU, construction companies in UKR, Hospitals/doctors/rehab and front line triage, and non-profits that deliver cars/trucks/medical supplies to Ukraine's civilians and troops. I'm sure in that long list I even missed something...Oh Satellite companies, and Internet sec too.

Not only that (which is a good point), but also a lot of what we have given are surplus or reserve material, when they say 50 billion, that's not what has actually been spent in the past year, that's the value of all the weapons and equipment that we've sent, much of which has already been paid off long ago.

The FTSE and DAX fell. Gold rose almost 100 dollars. My prop firm stopped trading of the ruble and you could only close positions. USA is sending 100s/1000s of smaller advanced drones to test them in Ukraine. Turkey used to send Bayraktars which were essential during the start of the war but disappeared afterwards. Ukraine produces multiple kinds of their own, smaller drones but not at sufficient scale. Also lots and lots of Dji/Autel consumer drones are imported by volunteers and used for recon, targeting artillery or to drop small munitions(which are too weak to cause noticeable damage to armored vehicles though).

It's funny how US correspondence Ans news programs never mention the fact that the UK was actually the first country to offer any assistance, first with military assistance and medical too, then first to give anti tank and anti aircraft MANPADS, then also the first foreign leader to visit Ukraine as well as also being the first to commit ourselves to giving heavy armour as in tanks and armoured personnel carriers and MLS artillery. So why does every mini doc like this never mention any of those facts, always concentrating on what the US and Germany give?
Remember, the UK is the second largest contributor to the Ukrainians campaign against the old enemy.

Now imagine a low and slow flying A-10, they would it be spammed with MANPADS from every direction imaginable. Small, readily available drones are way more effective on the modern battlefield. The A-10 is only seen in such a positive light, cause it literally only fought against a bunch of people in caves with AK-47s. There's a movie about gamblers, Molly's Game, "Harlan gets tilted after being bluffed by Bad Brad, resulting in him going on a massive losing streak and gambling all night, missing his wife's birthday party. Molly tries to convince him to cut his losses after he starts tilting, but he insists on recouping his winnings" Putler is like that player. At a high level, Ukraine war is a poker game between Russian billionaire and American centatrillionaire where each player raises the stakes. Except that Biden in Kyiv just raised the stakes with 700 tanks and things, the Russian billionaire mumbled and his cook squealed they're running out of ammunition and things.

Ukraine lost thousands of tanks and IFVs. 200 more won't change anything. Zelenskyy strategy is reduced to rounding up civilians often at gunpoint and throwing them into a meat grinder. It's obvious that these hapless and desperate people can even turn their guns against Zelenskyy instead of dying for him. Anyway you can't rely on them to hold the front that is in a very precarious state almost everywhere. The war is lost by Ukraine. It's obvious for any unbiased observer. Unconditional surrender is the only way out for Ukraine. Hitler's Germany also refused to admit defeat until Hitler killed himself. Then Keitel signed unconditional surrender.
